Buying a Nuclear Warhead Part 1

<<LEGENDS OF TOMORROW>>

<<BUYING A NUCLEAR WARHEAD PART 1>>

"And we've arrived." Rip announces, taking off his shoulder restraints. "Gideon, if you wouldn't mind camoflauging us as an alpin meadow perhaps?"

Mick looked like he was going to throw up again, so Erin kept her distance.

"What are you complaining about?" Snart asks his partner. "It's not like we time-jumped or anything."

"I hate flying. Especially in, whatever this thing is." Mick retorts, using his hands to motion to the ship.

"Where exactly are we?" Erin asks, standing from her seat and stretching her legs.

"We're still in 1975, right?"

"Indeed." Rip answers, standing from his seat.

Everybody gathers around the middle table to dicuss their mission.

"October 1975 on the fiord of nothern Norway."

"Sounds like a vacation." Snart interupts.

"Which we can take as soon as the threat of Savage has been neutralized, Mr. Snart." Rip tells the criminal.

Rip pulls something from his trench coat and sets it on the table.

"That's Aldus notebook." Kendra points out.

Rip begins to explain, "Now, he theorized that Savage might be here, and if he's right, and we can capture Savage, then at least Professor Boardman didn't die in vain."

"Can't we just go back and save Aldus? He was our son." Kendra says, filled with hope.

"Look i'm sorry." Rip says, but something in Erin tells her that he isn't really sorry. Rip continues, "We can't go back and change events in which we participated. Time would fold in on itself and create a tempral vortex."

"That's totally not gonna happen with this team." Erin mumbles sarcastically.

"It's sounds way cooler than it is." Ray speaks over Erins mumbling.

"Forgetting physics for a second, shouldn't we figure out what Savage is doing in Norway." Sara pipes in, seemingly the only one to be on task right now.

"According to Gideon, there is a large meeting of terrorists and fringe groups looking to buy illegal arms." Rip explains to the group.

"Now that sounds like a vacation!" Mick laughs.

"Arms dealers and terrorists aren't exactly our kind of people, but they're the next best thing." Snart drawls slowly.

"Well, looks like you and your lap dog finally get to earn your keep." Carter speaks up, agitating Mick in the proccess.

"I'm no one's lap dog, bird man." Mick defends.

"So, um, what exactly are we suppose to wear to a black market arms bizaar anyway?" Erins asks the captain, before the argument between Carter and Mick gets out of hand.

"The Waverider has a fabrication room which can fashion temorally-indigenous, uh, fashion." Rip explains.

"You have a room that makes clothing?" Jax speaks excitedly.

"Doesn't everyone?" Rip states as he walks away toward the room.

"I wish." Erin speaks, mainly toward Sara who is standing beside her.

The group follows Rip through the halls of the ship until they come upon the fabrication room.

Erin gets her clothes and changes into them. She's wearing black tights with a spiral of dark blue down the left pant leg. She has a tight, thick-strapped, dark blue tanktop on as her shirt.

Erin's light brown hair is pulled back into a tight ponytail.

She has her staves-similar to Sara's but still quite different- tucked up the long sleeves of the black leather jacket she wears overtop.

They walk down the hall of the Waverider toward the outdoors while Erin listens to the three boys bicker about who is going to be in charge.

They exit the Waverider and walk across the vast medow towards a warehouse that's buzzing with life.

As they approach the warehouse Erin directs her vision toward the entry point, where she notices a problem.

"Looks like they're checking credentials." Sara voices, as if reading her friends thoughs.

"And we don't have any." Erin points out the obvious.

"We got this. Trust us." Smart says as he moves in the way of a man and bumps into him.

Erin can already tell that Snart had stolen the mans ID card.

To confirm her thoughts, when Snart walks up to the bodyguard at the front door he holds up a keycard that clearly isn't his.

The man grabs the card from Leonard and states, "You don't look like an Amhad Ahmed Izz-Al-Din."

Snart recovers by saying "I'm Arab, on my mothers side."

Just as things were about to go south, Stein steps in and saves everybodies asses with his knowledge of history.

As they walk into the warehouse, Mick whispers something to Martin, but Erin chooses to ignore it, given that it most likely isn't important to the mission.

Erin walks off to the opposite side of the stage and says into her com, "I'm in position."

"So are we." Sara says through hers.

Erin looks around the warehouse, but cannot match anybody with the picture Rip had shown them of Savage.

"So why don't i get to play terrorist?" Jax questions through the coms.

"This is just a kidnapping," Snart explains. "No need for your nuclear fireworks."

"Savage'll be one of the buyers." Rip tells the group as if he hadn't explained it 30 times already.

"I don't know about that," Erin mumbles under her breath as she tries not to draw attention to herself. "I can't find him anywhere."

"Well when we do hang back, we'll boost him once this is all over." Leonards talks.

"Any sign of him?" Carter asks the group after a minute.

"No." Snart simply replies.

"He's not here, boss." Erin can't tell if Mick was talking to Leonard or if he actually called Rip his boss.

"Lets go Paws, we're moving out." Leonard says to Erin. She nods her head when Leonards eyes land on her.

She turns around to leave but before she can move from her spot a man comes on stage and speaks.

"If i could have your attention." The man says, Erin reconizes the voice of the man of the hour and turns back around to face him.

"Thankyou all for coming." Savage says.

"Found him." Erin mutters to the others.

"I promise, it will be well worth your time."

"Seems we were wrong about Savage." Cold speaks.

"He's not one of the buyers," Sara says and Erin finishes, "He's the seller."

Savage speaks once more, while slowly- very slowly- Erin moves toward the back of the stage. "This is a variable-yeild nuclear warhead, capable of producing a blast equivelent to one megaton of TNT."

"Well that doesn't sound good." Erin says clearly, now that she is out of the sight of most people.

She only talks clearly now because if people had seen her having conversations with herself they would grow suspicious, and she didn't want that attention.

Savage continues talking and gunshots begin to blast through the air alerting Erin of a fight. She soon realizes it's only men and women bidding for the warhead.

Erin continues to walk toward the back of the stage when she is stopped by a guard.

"You can't be back here ma'am." He tells her.

"Oh," Erin tries acting innocent, "I just wanted to get a better layout of the warhead for my boss." She smiles.

"You can't be back here." The guard repeats.

Erin knows that if and when this plan goes south, she'll need a jump on Savage from an unexpected angle, which meant she had to get by this man.

"Oh, okay." She started to slowly walk away, but quickly turned around and punched the man to the ground.

She peered over to her team quickly to find that they were talking with some man.

"I have a feeling you guys might want to get those helmets of yours on." She heard Snart say through the coms, most likely directed at the hawks.

This was enough to distract Erin for long enough that she didn't see the hand coming toward her. She ducked out of the way just in time for the hand to pass where her head once was.

"Some help over here would be nice too." Erin grunts as she takes the mans hand and twists it behind his back.

He screams in pain and Erin can feel a million more eyes on her than she liked.

"What are you doing?" Sara asks her through the coms, obviously she drew more attention to herself then she originally thought.

"Just got into a little disagreement, that's all." Erin says as she turns the mans back towards her and hits the bodyguards spinal cord, knocking him out and possibly killing him.

More guards seem to come her way as she hears, "May i have your attention please." Savage says.

Erin punches a guard in the throat.

"Change of plans." Savage continues.

Erin looks over towards Savage as she picks a guy up by his throat and throws him into a wall.

Savage points to her teammates and says "I'll provide a 25% discount to the organization which brings me the heads of these men and women."

Erin turns to a man who tries to kick her, but ultimatly fails as she dodges his blow and delievers one of her own.

"The head of this little trouble maker over here will add an extra 10% bonus." Erin hears.

She turns to face the stage again, where Savage is smirking at her, his finger resting in her direction.

Micks heat gun goes off in the distance and the entire place breaks into a riot.

Men and women charge at Erin from all directions, but she manages to hold her ground.

She see's Ray fly over head and then Firestorm appears.

"Well if they're aloud to use their powers then..." Erin transforms and begins attacking anyone who dares to come near.

She jumps on a guard who's sneaking up on Sara, and claws at his face.

Erin looks up at Sara who nods a thankyou. Erin nods back, and they both jump back into the action.

Through all the commotion, Erin sees Firestorm fly out of the building. It's not until they are gone that she realizes they took the bomb.

Erin transforms back to her human form, stands up from her hands and knees, taking out one last guard in the process.

"What the hell are they doing?" Erin asks through the coms.

The ground shook violently, but only for a moment until it was still. The team gathered and looked toward the island that the pair had flown the bomb to.

"That." Sara whispers from beside Erin, as she gapes at the trees blown over and the visble crater onland where Firestorm had absorbed the blast.

The team all joined back on the Waverider, meeting up in the brig.

"Well, i'm really glad you were the one calling the shots."

And here began the bickering. Martin blaming Mick, Snart defending Mick and blaming Stein.

Blame went back and forth untill the arguing was inturupted by Rip. "Hear, hear, now you all deserve a hardy congratulations." He says clapping.

"Not only did you fail to capture Savage, you exposed yourselves and your powers to him giving away the element of suprise for now and all time."

"We don't need the element of suprise, we know he's here in Norway so lets just go kill him." Erin falls back comfortably into one of the seats.

"Unfourtunatly, we have bigger problems now." Rip speaks.

"What are you talking about?" Sara asks.

"Whoops." Ray says from behind Erin. Erin peers over her seat at Ray who is looking down at his suit.

"I am unversed in modern American colloquialisms. Is 'whoops' slang for 'oh'?" Gideon asks, her head appearing in the room.

Erin looks back toward Gideon and Rip as Hunter speaks again.

"Yes, Dr. Palmer seems to have thrown a spanner of works for the entire timeline." Rip answers, honestly those two could be a married couple.

"Oh, what did you do now?" Erin sounds almost angry. Peering over the seat toward Ray once again, she waits for an answer.

But instead, Rip answers for him. He explains how Ray left part of his suit behind to be found by Savage.

"Armed with Dr. Palmers future trchnology, savage's engineers develop a weapon far more dangerous then anything here in 1975."

"This is Central City in 2016," Rip shows them a picture of destruction, "At least it was."

"Holy shit." Erin whispers at the horrific sight infront of her.

"I'm not sure what the neo-fascists who took control of it are calling it these days." Rip finishes.

"There must be a way to correct this somehow." Stein speaks up.

"Fortunatly, Gideon is only showing us a forcast of the future you've all created." Rip then goes on to explain, "Time is like cement, it takes time to become permanent. In this case, until Savages team have worked out the mystery of your technology. And molded it to their own ends."

Rip sighs, then saying "And when they do what you see here is no longer just a forcast. This is history."
