I sat back in my seat and took deep breaths. This was so not how I imagined my Summer to go.
Who were those guys in the SUVs? And the two teens in the back? They were really starting to weird me out. One of them flipped a car just by standing there and the other controlled the cab with her hand...a part of me wanted to be scared...but another part...
"It is alright Emily Bruno. It is over now." Sara said.
Wait...
I sat up and looked at her, "How did you know my name?"
She hesitated for a split second before noticing my birth bracelet and pointed at it, "Your bracelet." She said.
I looked down at it, having forgotten it was there.
I looked back up at both of them, "You guys...are really, really weird." I said, "And I can't decide if I'm cool or not cool with that."

Just then Jack came back, got into the cab, started the engine and drove off.

We continued to drive up the open road in silence until Jack asked us, "How you guys holding up?"
"We're fine." Sara replied.
"Me too." I agreed.
"I'm sorry I dragged you into this." He looked at me, "All of you."
I didn't know what to say so I just sent him a small smile.
"There is no need to apologise Jack Bruno." Sara said and I could see out of the corner of my eye that Seth was looking at her as if telling her to shut up, "you are not always the one who is to blame."
I furrowed my eyebrows. How did she know...?

"But the urgency of our trip has not decreased." Seth said, snapping me from my thoughts.
"Look, don't worry. I'll get you two where you need to go." Jack said, "You've earned it."
"And I'm sure I've earned an explanation, Uncle Jack." I said to him, my arms crossed and looking at him eyebrows raised.
He let out a breath before turning to me.
"You've earned that too sweetie." He said.

It was almost dark when, after a little driving up a mountain, Sara spoke up, "We're here Jack Bruno."
I pulled out my earphones from listening to music on my phone and looked out my window, seeing nothing but an old shack up ahead.
"Here?" I asked.
"There's nothing here." Jack said.

We drove up a little more and Jack pulled up in front of the Shack.
"Somebody's expecting you right?" He asked.
"It doesn't look like anyone's home." I said.
"Don't worry Emily and Jack Bruno. We will soon be reunited with relatives." Sara said and unbuckled her seat belt.
"Okay, 720 dollars and 50 cents." Jack said at which I widened my eyes, we had gone that far?
"But, after everything that went down today, how about I knock off 25% and-"
"Here you go." Seth said, pushing a whole handful of the money into Jack's hand and getting out of the cab after Sara.
"Okay then." He said.
"Bye to you too." I said out the window but they had already gone into the shack.
I looked down at the money Jack was holding.
"How much they give us?" I asked.
"500% tip." He replied and my eyes widened and my eyebrows raised.
"That's reasonable." Jack said again.
I glared at him. Obviously it was not.

"Come on. We have to give the money back." I said getting out. In reality I was curious and concerned of what they were doing in a beat up old shack.
I heard Jack sigh behind me and got out as well.
"Hey!" Jack called, "you guys over payed! ... By a lot!"
He closed his cab door but then looked down at the damage.
"Unbelievable." He said and sighed.
Suddenly there was a crash, like glass breaking, making me jump and whip around.
Slowly, Jack came around the cab and stood next to me where we both started to walk forwards.
"Everything okay in there?" He yelled out.
It was silent.
"Stay here Emily." Jack said but I followed behind him anyway. I wanted to see if they were okay. They were strange and mysterious and a whole lotta weird but...they were definitely more interesting than any other teens I've ever met. Sara seemed really nice, but seemed to know everything. And I wanted to know more about Seth, I mean, he flipped a freaking car!! And he also seemed to be in a rush to get here...a beat up old shack?

Jack and I stepped up onto the landing where shattered glass was spread out.
I stepped forward and opened the door, peeking in a little bit.
"Emily!" Jack whispered yelled but I wasn't listening.
"Come on!" I beckoned and Jack came up behind me.
"Hello?" I called out and stepped forward a little more. Jack grabbed my hand just in case anything jumped out at us so we could make a quick get away.
We walked around beside the door, looking at the shattered window and torn up blinds. I stepped forward but knocked into something, making something heavy drop to the floor and I gasped in surprise, causing Jack to grab a wooden pole in defence.
"Sorry." I whispered.

We wandered around until we came to the middle of the room.
I felt as if someone was watching me and turned to Jack to see if he felt it too when I suddenly felt something grab my arm. I gasped in fright and whipped around to find electric blue eyes staring back at me, crouching behind a couch.

"Seth!" I whispered, "You scared the-"
"Shh. You must be quiet." Seth said, holding up a hand to silence me.
"Emily and Jack Bruno, you should not have jeopardised your lives by following us." Sara whispered as Seth began playing with his device again.
"What sort of trouble are you guys in?" Asked Jack.
"I suggest you return back to your vehicle. Your transportation services are no longer required." Seth said to him.
"Seth, he's just trying to help!" Sara whispered to her brother.
"We don't need his help. Someone has already been here looking for it." Seth said, "They said we can't trust anyone. Only us."
"You can trust us." I said, not even wondering or caring what he meant.
Seth looked back at me and we locked eyes. The electric blue seemed to hypnotise me.
"But you will get hurt, possibly killed if you help us." He said, he sounded concerned.
"We appreciate your wanting to help us Emily Bruno. But my brother is right. We can involve you no further." Sara said and before I could reply, Seth's device beeped.
"Got it!"
"Let's go." Sara replied and got up, Seth close behind.
"Wait, just tell us what's..." Jack trailed off as Sara and Seth went into the next room.
I got up after them, pulling Jack along with me.

"Hurry up Sara." I heard Seth say and Jack and I looked at each other before following them again.
They had stopped in the kitchen and Seth opened the fridge, placing his device next to it. It beeped for a second.
"What is that?" Asked Jack.
But before the siblings could answer, the inside of the fridge opened up to reveal a secret passageway.

Seth and Sara looked at each other before going inside.
"Hey wait a sec." I said.
They disappeared down the passageway. My god those two are weird.
I stepped inside the fridge and looked down where they had gone.
Jack hesitated at the fridge door, "Don't go in the pimped out fridge Jack." He said to himself.
I rolled my eyes, "Come on Uncle!" I said and continued down after Seth and Sara.

We walked down a set of stairs and into a small basement. Seth put his device on the brick wall next to a black and heavy looking door. It beeped just like it did with the fridge and the door slowly opened. Seth and Sara both went inside and Jack and I followed. We slowly followed them down a dark stone tunnel and emerged into...an entire forest!!
