Chapter 1

I walked out of Las Vegas Airport pulling my one suitcase along with me, my back pack slung on my shoulder. I've never been one to excessively pack lots of stuff, I've never really seen the point.

I walked out the door and sat down on a park bench, waiting for a certain yellow cab to come pick me up.

I sat for about twenty to thirty minutes before I caught sight of one pulling up beside me. The door opened and out stepped my Uncle.

"Uncle Jack!" I shouted, getting up and giving him a hug.
"Hey Emily!" He replied back, lifting me up in the air, making me laugh.
He put me down and grabbed my suitcase, putting it in the trunk of the cab.
"So how's school going?" He asked me. He always asks me this every summer I come to stay with him and every summer I say the same thing.
"Oh same old, same old. Got straight A's in my report card." I replied.
"That's great! I'm proud of you." He smiled.
I smiled back and we got into the cab.

We drove back to Vegas and Jack went to park in the cab park.

But there was already a big black SUV parked in front of us.
"Come on, I have to get out that way." Jack said and stuck his head out the window, "Hey, you guys gotta move this thing, I gotta go."
Then the doors of the car opened and out stepped two big guys in suits.
"Jack!"
"Don't return phone calls anymore?"
"Jack?" I asked worriedly. These guys didn't seem too nice.
"Don't worry sweetie. It's just a little business I need to take care of. Stay in the car." Jack replied and stepped out of the cab.

I did as I was told and watched as Jack talked to the guys. I couldn't really hear what they were saying but it ended in Jack hitting both of them in the face and forcing them into the bonnet of the cab, making me jump.
Eventually he let them up but suddenly a police car came up and told off the two guys for parking in a cab zone.

Jack got back in the cab and started to drive.
"Uh, what was that?" I asked.
"Nothing. Just don't worry about it." He said.
I raised an eyebrow but didn't press anymore.

I just so happened to look in the rear-view mirror to see two blonde teens about my age, one male, one female sitting in the back.
I let out a yell of surprise making Jack stop the cab short.
"What?" He asked.
I didn't answer, instead I whipped around to the two teens.
"Where did you guys come from?" I asked and I saw Jack whip around as well, a look of shock and surprise on his face.
"Outside." The boy said, he had light blue eyes and short blonde hair.
Jack and I looked at each other, "Yeah we figured that out by ourselves but how did you get in the cab?" Jack asked.
They both pointed to the backseat door, "Through that portal." The girl said, she had the same electric blue eyes and longer blonde hair.
I furrowed my eyebrows. Portal?

"I'm Seth. This is my sister Sara." The boy said, who at first glance I didn't realise how cute he actually was, "We require your transportation services immediately."
"Really? Well I require-"
"Currency transaction." The girl, Sara, cut Jack off.
The boy, Seth, dug in his pocket and brought out a big handful of money.
"Will this amount suffice?" He asked, holding it out to Jack.
My eyes widened, "What, did you rob a bank?" I asked.
"Is this acceptable Jack Bruno?" Sara asked.
"How'd you know my name?" Jack asked.
Sara pointed to Jacks license which was sitting on the dashboard.
"If we have a deal with your services, we must move forward rapidly." Seth continued, "it is urgent we get to our destination without delay."

The car behind us, which I didn't notice before, started beeping at us.
"Alright, alright I'm going!" Jack yelled out the window and began driving again.
"Where to?" He asked.
Seth pulled something out from his pocket and started playing with it.
"I need an address." Jack started to get impatient.
"We must travel in that direction." Sara said, pointing out my window which was probably south-west.
Jack looked back at her looking a bit pissed.
"Uh, yeah I think we need something a little more specific than just...that direction." I calmly said to her.
"We must locate, latitude 40.54, cross intersecting longitude-" Seth began before Jack put his hand up to silence him.
"We're gonna stick with that direction." He said.

Damn...who are these teens?? I thought.
