They continued silently driving for a while, eventually driving up along an open road in the middle of nowhere. Charlotte-Mae played with the ends of her dark chocolate brown hair, occasionally looking in the rear view mirror and to glance at the two teens, only to see Seth quickly avert his gaze.

"Are your parents okay with you spending all of this money?" Jack asked them, snapping her out of her thoughts

She looked down at the Fare Meter, cringing slightly at the sight, which reached up to almost $400 in pay.

"We have previously agreed upon our financial deal" Seth replied "if your concern is our conversation with -"

"My concern is that I have two kids in my cab, with a big wad of cash, and a drop off zone pretty much in the middle of nowhere" Jack replied, cutting him off "now in my book, that's a little chapter called running away" glancing at Charlotte-Mae "no offense" earning a small shrug

"Jack."

Charlotte-Mae looked to the radio,

"You better be getting desert miles on that fare. And they better be able to pay. And you better get me an ETA!"

"My colleague." Jack muttered, causing her to nod slightly, Jack picking up the radio "I'm losing reception Dominick" slamming the radio back into place

Charlotte-Mae shook her head slightly in amusement, but her eyebrows furrowed slightly as her right hand suddenly began to rub her left arm, closing her eyes and tilting her head,

"Jack Bruno, the vehicles behind us are indicating a pattern of pursuit." Sara informed, causing the brunette girl to look at her. Sara looked like she was really worried "are you all right, Charlotte-Mae?"

. . . I never told you my name

"There's no vehicles following-" Jack began

"Yes there are!" Charlotte-Mae replied, looking out the back window

Jack turned and saw black vans coming up behind them,

"At our current rate of speed versus theirs, they will overtake our vehicle in less than one minute" Seth said

"Relax kid" Jack replied, "I'm just gonna let them pass"

Charlotte-Mae looked at Seth and Sara, seeing them exchange a worried glance. Jack slowly pressed his foot on the brake, slowing down the car to let the other vehicles pass. When they didn't speed up and go around, Jack wound down his window and waved at them to pass,

"Open road people!" He called out "all yours!" winding the window back up

A big SUV drove up next to them and sat there for a moment, as if the person inside was looking at them through its tinted window before passing by, Charlotte-Mae looking at the window, her hand rubbing her arm once more, instantly knowing something wasn't right. She just couldn't put her finger on it.

"What did I tell you?" Jack said, turning back to Seth and Sara, "nobody's following us. I'm the king of these roads - "

"Jack Bruno!" Sara yelled, holding her hand out

Suddenly, the SUVs behind them hit them from the back, sending the cab spinning out of control. A shocked scream emitted from Charlotte-Mae, one of her hands shooting to hold onto the seat, her other hands holding onto the handle above the window as tightly as she could. Jack turned the wheel and sped off down the road, the SUVs chasing them,

"I said I was out and I meant it!" Jack yelled

"What are you talking about?" Charlotte-Mae asked

"Who is Mr. Wolfe Jack Bruno?" Sara asked him, causing Charlotte-Mae to look between her and Jack, who had tensed at the name

"Who?" Charlotte-Mae asked her

"How do you know that - Ugh!" Jack said before the SUV slammed into them from behind

"Get down now!" He yelled to the three teens, causing them to do as said

Two of the SUVs came up beside the cab, pressing in on the sides of it. Jack pushed the cab off one side and tried to push the SUVs away, but he was pushed back into the SUV on the passengers side, causing another scream to emit from Charlotte-Mae, the cab being pushed from side to side between the two SUVs as well as a third behind them.

"Come on" Jack growled

He slammed his foot on the brake, making two of the SUVs miss and spin off the road, Jack slamming the accelerator and speeding off down the road. Seth, Sara and Charlotte-Mae looked back and saw that they still had one more van on their tail,

"Jack Bruno, it would appear we have not eluded them!" Sara exclaimed

"What?" He yelled out, frustrated

"They're still following us" Charlotte-Mae translated

Jack looked in the rear view and saw the last SUV,

"So over this" He muttered, "stay down, stay down!"

The teens obeyed, but Charlotte-Mae looked back to Seth and Sara, knowing in her heart that something was going to happen, watching as Seth looked at Sara with a knowing look.

"Seth no" Sara said, seeming to know what he was thinking, "it's not a good idea"

"I have to try" Seth replied

"It's too dangerous" Sara protested, trying to convince him out of not doing whatever he was planning to do

Seth looked away from Sara to Charlotte-Mae, their eyes locking before he disappeared into the seat, causing her eyes to widen. Sara looked at her, as if she could tell what Charlotte-Mae was thinking, her gaze looking out the back window once more, seeing Seth standing in the middle of the road, turning to face the oncoming SUV.

What is he doing?

Her eyes never left Seth, watching as the SUV drove closer to him. She had no words, watching as the SUV hit him, but it was as if it had crashed into a wall, but it was Seth,

". . . Molecular density?" Charlotte-Mae whispered

Sara looked at the brunette with slightly widened eyes, but Charlotte-Mae watched as the car flipped over him and landed with a crash. Sara held out her hand in a fist and the cab screeched to a stop,

"Now what?" Jack said, not realizing that it was Sara who was doing it

"You're doing this" Charlotte-Mae whispered

Sara didn't reply, but simply held her hand flat, Charlotte-Mae turning to see the gear change and the road begin to unroll as the cab reversed. The brunette looked out the back window once more, watching as the flipped SUV grew closer and closer as they reversed, the cab going faster and faster until they stopped just before they would have crashed into it.

"You three okay?" Jack asked the three, causing the brunette to look at him

"We're . . ." Sara trailed off, looking at Charlotte-Mae, then back at Jack, "fine"

Charlotte-Mae looked back, only to see Seth appear back in the car, as if he had come through the metal,

"We should just . . . " Seth trailed off, looking at Charlotte-Mae, who's eyes were wide, "keep moving"

Jack didn't answer, instead he opened the door and got out,

"Jack!" Charlotte-Mae called out, but he had already gotten out and walked up to the beat up car
