Jack drove the RV out towards the mountains, taking a lonely highway while the rest of them made themselves comfortable, Sara and Charlotte-Mae being able to fit on the only couch while Seth fell asleep on one of the side tables,

"I didn't even imagine they'd actually look human, much less like kids" Alex said

"They're lucky you joined us, Doctor" Jack replied "we're lucky . .  you joined us"

"Luck has nothing to do with it" Alex said, "it's pure science. Chaos theory, the underlying order in apparently random data" 

"So, more like fate" Jack said

"Hmmm," Alex thought for a moment, "Science. Think about it. What are the odds that they would crash near Vegas during a UFO convention? I got in your cab. Then they got in your cab and now we're all in Harlan's mobile home that's loaded with his intel on where their ship is. That is not luck. That is a predetermined order of how things work in the universe" 

"Have you always been this positive?" He asked, glancing at her

"I have always been a searcher for answers" she corrected "though, my folks would say I was merely a daydreamer. How about you?" 

"Me?" He asked "I'm a, uh, much easier book to read. All my life my answers have been 'yes' or 'no'. Zero grey areas" 

"Where does the mustang fall?" She asked, seeing the keychain "a yes or no?"

"That's not just any mustang" he smiled "that's a 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 Fastback. Steve McQueen's car in Bullitt?" Alex shrugging slightly "you've never seen Bullitt?"

"Uh, no" Alex replied

"Er . ." Jack said, teasing her and she chuckled, "well, it's currently a no. But one day I'm gonna earn that car, the honest way. And then it will be my yes"

Seth slowly woke up to the sound of heavy breathing, picking his head up from the table as he looked over to his sister and Charlotte-Mae, seeing that his sister was already kneeling next to the brunette as she slept. Jack's head turned slightly when he heard the sound of a whimper, Seth shooting from his seat and hurrying over to her,

"Everyone okay back there?" Jack asked

"I am not sure" Sara replied "Mae is asleep but . . something is wrong. I cannot read her mind, she is not letting me in"

Alex got up from her seat, walking over to the sleeping teen, looking at her for a moment,

"She's just having a bad dream" Alex said softly

Charlotte-Mae gasped deeply as she shot up in a sitting position, flinching away when a hand was placed on her shoulder,

"Hey" Alex said softly "it's okay. You're okay"

The three watched as she slowly calmed down, swinging her legs over so she sat down properly on the couch, her hand shooting to her neck where she had felt the sting of the needle, her eyes slowly finding Sara's. Charlotte-Mae furrowed her eyebrows slightly, almost as if she didn't know who she was, Sara watching as recognition slowly formed in her eyes,

". . . Sara?" Charlotte-Mae asked, slowly standing on her feet, causing Sara to do the same

"Are you all right, Mae?" She asked, concerned for her friend

"What's going on back there?" Jack asked, pulling the RV over,

Sara's eyes slowly widened, looking at Charlotte-Mae,

"Yes" she said softly

Charlotte-Mae's arms instantly wrapped around her, causing Sara to do the same as Jack got up from his seat, tears falling from her eyes as she held on to her friend, a happy smile forming on Sara's lips as she looked at her brother. His eyes widened as he looked at the brunette, their eyes connecting,

"Seth" Charlotte-Mae said softly

She released Sara, who had tears in her eyes as she released her, watching as she wrapped her arms around Seth, his arms wrapping around her in return, holding her tightly against him.

"I've missed you" she whispered "both of you" closing her eyes as his hand tangled in her hair

"You remember" Seth said, causing her to nod

"Remember what?" Jack asked, gaining their attention

Seth and Charlotte-Mae slowly released one another, the brunette looking at Jack,

". . There's something you should know" Charlotte-Mae said

"So . . you're originally from their planet . . ." Jack trailed off, pointing to Charlotte-Mae "kidnapped, sold, escaped and crash landed on earth, in Florida, when you were six?"

". . . That about sums it up, yeah" Charlotte-Mae replied "I lost my memory, but they started coming back in the form of dreams when Seth and Sara showed up"

"Do you have abilities like them?" Alex asked, looking at her

"Yes, but I'll tell you that later" she answered "we need to keep moving"

"Jack?" Seth asked

"What's up pal?" Jack replied

"Are we there yet?" he asked

Charlotte-Mae couldn't help but raise her eyebrow slightly, seeing Jack and Alex's amazed look,

"Good in any universe apparently" Jack said "well, Alex?" 

"Yes," Alex said, digging around in her purse to find where we were going

Jack parked the caravan in some trees, covering it with other little saplings and bushes,

"Well," Alex said as she walked out of the RV, "the maps are thirty years old but they're the best intel we've got. Looks to be about five miles from here to the entrance"

"Okay." Jack said and turned to the three teens, "let's rock and roll"

A a rushing stream lay ahead of them, Jack went first, helping Sara to cross, then Seth, then Alex, Charlotte-Mae was next, looking at the rocks for a moment, shrugging slightly as she stepped in the water. Jack watched as it became solid beneath her feet, the water simply flowing around her shoes, Sara smiling as she simply walked across, jumping out next to Seth and looking at Jack with smile. Once past the stream, they trekked through a bush underneath the mountain, Sara in the lead, with Jack, Alex, Charlotte-Mae, then Seth bringing up the rear, wanting to make sure his One was safe. The lot of them came upon a big rock that overlooked the entrance to the mountain, but there were to many men surrounding it, Jack and Alex went up and laid on their stomachs on the rock and Jack looked through binoculars, Charlotte-Mae staying behind with the siblings.

Seth reached into his pocket, pulling something out and looking at it for a moment, a smile forming on his lips as he looked at Charlotte-Mae, who looked over in his direction,

"I want you to have this, Mae" he said,

He walked over to her, standing behind her as he rose his hands, lowering them and clasping the necklace around her neck, causing her to look down at it, a smile forming on her lips. It was a moonstone, copper wrapped around it to keep it in place,

"It's beautiful" Charlotte-Mae said softly

". . Like you" Seth replied

Jack and Alex came back down

"If the map's right, there are several service tunnels spreading outward" Alex informed

"I bet I could find them" Charlotte-Mae replied "with the vibrations in the ground, I can make sure we move to an unguarded tunnel"

"Let's go" Jack said, leading the way

"Jack" Sara said

Charlotte-Mae turned, seeing Sara collapse into his arms,

"Sara" Jack said, panic rising in his voice

Seth turned around as well, but quickly brought his hand to his neck and became limp,

"Seth!" Charlotte-Mae cried, barely catching him, his weight making her lower to the dirt

"Seth!" Jack cried, still holding Sara

Suddenly, men dressed in black came jumping down the rock face above us from ropes, Jack gave Sara to Alex, who held her in her arms protectively as Jack stood in front of Seth and Charlotte-Mae,

"Mr. Bruno, Runaway and, I believe, Dr. Friedman" A voice said, causing Charlotte-Mae to look up, seeing a man in a black suit walking up, Henry Burke

"What did you do to them?!" Jack demanded

"Consider yourself lucky Mr. Bruno" Burke said, "I could have had all three of you shot on sight for trespassing and violation of US government property" 

Two men came up to Charlotte-Mae, forcibly taking Seth from her arms, but she gripped his shirt as they pulled him away, closing her eyes as she felt that familiar feeling,

"Not yet" she whispered to herself, reluctantly releasing Seth

"Sara!" Jack yelled, punching the closest guy in the face

He hit another guy, Charlotte-Mae watching as they took Seth and Sara away, feeling defeated as Jack continued to fight. Jack fought another guy for his gun, only to have another come up behind him and slam the butt of his gun into Jack's shoulders.

"Ah!" Jack grunted and fell to his knees,

Jack was hit in the face with the butt of a gun and he fell to the ground, Alex ran over to him, helping him to his feet,

"There you go" Alex said "alright"

The leader of the agents walked up but Alex stopped him,

"Sir, with all due respect, you have to listen to me" She said, "they came in peace. We cannot respond with violence. The future of Earth depends on it" 

Charlotte-Mae watched as the siblings were loaded onto a military truck, covered with aluminum foil

"It is absolutely vital that they get home" Alex finished

"They are home, Dr. Friedman" he replied "they are now in my custody"
