Most of the drivers are currently doing there track walk. Daniella’s full attention was on what Nate is explaining as Myra followed them close taking some photos now and then.


Lando and his team is not far behind. The young McLaren drive is in a happy mood after Daniella gifted him a watch this morning which she bought days ago.


The track walk was almost coming to an end when Pierre Gasly caught up to Lando and asking if they can talk.


“What’s up?” Lando asked.


“This is a bit awkward, but,” Pierre hesitated. “Is there anything going on between you and Dani?”


“What do you mean?” Lando asked confused.


“I mean are you two dating or do you like her or anything?”


Lando was bit taken aback. His eyes shifted from Pierre to Daniella who was only few meters away from them. “Umm…no. We are not dating or anything. I mean we are best friends, and that’s it.”


Pierre let out a deep sigh as he smiled which made Lando even more confused and somewhat annoyed. “I am thinking about asking her out…you know I really like her but you two are so close…”


“Nahh, mate,” Lando cut him off. “Nothing is going on between us…you can ask her out.” His eyes again lending on his best friend.


“Thank you so much mate,” Pierre gave a thankful smile. “I really hope she says yes.” He too looked a Daniella before jogging away to join his team back.


Daniella laughed at one of Nate’s joke as when her eyes fell on Lando, standing in the middle of the track looking confused and annoyed. She waved at him but he just shook his head, turned and walk away.

Daniella noticed Lando and Carlos talking and quickly made her way towards them. She has noticed the Lando has been ignoring her and being weird, more so than usual, and she at this time she wants nothing more than to find out what is wrong with him.


Before Daniella could reach them Carlos pointed out that she is walking towards them, and Lando wasted no time and ran away.


“What the hell is wrong with him?” she asked the Ferrari driver.


“Who?” Carlos asked, trying to act he has no idea.


“Lando. Something is wrong with him,” she explained. “He was fine yesterday morning but after that he is running away when he sees me and he is even ignoring my calls. He never ignore my calls.”


Carlos now has a worried expression on his face. He is little bit aware of what is going on as Lando was explaining go be before he ran away. “I don’t know what to say…maybe is worried about the race.”


“You are a terrible lier, you know that,” Daniella rolled her eyes and sounded angry. “Tell him I am already very mad at him and if he doesn’t come talk to me I will…I will be even more mad.”


Daniella gave a warning look at Carlos before walking away. Right now she only need to concentrate on qualifying and then the race, she can solve the ‘Lando problem' later.


As soon as she was out of sight Carlos ran to find Lando and warn him about his angry best friend.

Daniella qualified P5 for the French GO and she is now completely exhausted after qualifying and giving tons of interview. Lando is still ignoring which is something she can’t stop thinking about. She has went through every possible scenarios, did she say something or did something wrong to him, did she unknowingly hurt him, and lot more but nothing explains is to why he has been ignoring her.


She lazily dragged herself through the hotel lobby when someone called her name from behind.


“Pierre…hey,” she smiled politely.


“Hi” Pierre walked towards her. “How are you? That was an impressive qualifying you did today.”


“Thanks. You did well today too.”


“Thanks,” Pierre slightly blushed. “Umm..I wanted to talk to you at the paddock but didn’t get the chance.”


“Talk about what?” she asked confused. She did remember they ran into each other multiple times today.


“Actually umm,” he nervously rubbed his neck. “I wanted to ask if you….”


“Ella?”


Both Daniella and Pierre looked away from each other and turned to see the McLaren driver approaching them.


“Hey mate” Lando greeted Pierre then looked at Daniella. “Did I interrupt something?”


“No no” Pierre replied nervously.


Daniella who was glaring at Lando in anger hit his arm.


“What was that for?” he winched in pain.


“You know what was that for.”


Pierre who is now confused by the situation decided to take a step back.


“Okay, I am sorry,” Lando apologized. “But I have a really good explanation.”


“You better,” she snapped.


“Carlos is waiting for us for dinner, let go and I will explain everything there,” Lando looked guilty. “I promise.”


“Fine,” Daniella gave in as she is dying to know why he has been to weird and ignoring her. She suddenly remembered Pierre was there too and turned to him. “I am so sorry…you were about to ask something.”


“It can wait,” Pierre said politely. “You go enjoy your dinner.”


“You sure?” she asked, now feeling a slight guilt.


“Yeah, you go have fun.”


Lando felt like doing a victory dance there but controlled himself. He knew Pierre was about to ask her on a date but his timing was perfect this time a managed to stop it.


“Okay, we will talk tomorrow then,” Daniella smiled and waved as Lando hold her hand and made their way out of the hotel lobby. “Good luck for the race.”


Pierre smiled and waved back. His smile soon turned into frown as soon as the duo was out.

“So you were ignoring me because you lost the watch I gave you?” Daniella asked confused.


Lando nodded. Ever since they sat on the dinner table he was explaining how he lost the watch Daniella gifted him and was worried she is going to be angry. The explanation poor and all over the place and the girl was having a hard time understanding it all.


Carlos just sat there, disappointed but not surprised that Lando didn’t take his advised and tell Daniella the truth.


“And them Carlos helped me find it,” Lando pointed at his friend, hoping for him to help out a little bit.


“Ummm..yes, yes I did,” Carlos replied before calling the waiter to order their dinner.


Daniella looked at her best friend suspiciously. Both Lando and Carlos are terrible liers and none of them are doing a great job at lying to her now.


“I don’t believe you,” she said. “But I am willing to let it pass since I know you two are struggling to lie right now and I am pretty sure you will tell me the truth at some point.”


Lando looked nervously at Daniella who gave him a smirk and then he looked at Carlos who gave him a warning look. The truth is even he is not completely sure why he was ignoring her, but when Pierre told him that he is going to ask her out he left jealous and possessive. He thought it was best to not talk to Daniella before he figures out what is going on.


“I feel like a third wheel,” Carlos muttered under his breath as he pulled out his phone to pass the time till their dinner is served while Lando again tries to convince Daniella it was all because of the watch.
