Lando finally decided that he is ready to walk out and face the world and Daniella. He wiped his tears and made himself presentable before opening the door.

He was disappointed to see that Daniella was no longer outside his door, instead there were only a couple of people at the end of the hallway talking but immediately got silent when they saw him.

He ignored everyone’s stare as he walked out to give the interviews. Charlotte wanted to join him and let him know about Daniella but he left before she could even say a word.

The interviews were not pleasant, all the questions were about how he failed to win the race. He answered the questions as fast as he can so that he can go back to the hotel.

“Obviously you are very upset about your result, but what are your thoughts about Daniella who didn’t manage to finish the race and lost the championship lead?” one of the interviewer asked, catching Lando off guard.

“I am sorry, what?” he looked shocked. He had no idea that Daniella didn’t finish the race.

“Umm..she didn’t finish the race and…”

“I had no idea about that,” Lando looked guilty. “But I think she is not happy to lose the championship lead…but she will surely gain it back soon.”

As soon as the interview was over he looked around to find his girlfriend but she was nowhere to be found.

He thought about going to her driver’s room to find her but decided against it, thinking she is mad at him and wanting some space.

“How did it go?” Charlotte asked him as he got back to the McLaren hospitality.

“Fine, I kept the answers short,” he replied, the sadness is still evident in his voice.

“Good,” she gave his arm a light squeeze. “Your time will come soon.”

Lando just nodded. He felt a little awkward as everyone is looking at him with pity.

“So are you going to see Daniella now?” Charlotte asked.

“No,” Lando shook his head. “I think she would want to be alone right now.”

“I think she would want you by her side right now.”

“Trust me, she doesn’t.”

“You know that she went to the hospi…” before Charlotte could finish the sentence Zak called him for debrief with the team.

Lando didn’t wait for her to continue and left.

Daniella was relieved to hear that her shoulder is not injured, but a splint was placed and she was given some painkillers.

Myra insisted to stay with her for the night but she just wanted to be alone and rest.

After taking the painkiller the pain subsided a little but the shoulder split started to irritate her.

“Come on, pick up please,” she called Lando again but after a couple of rings he declined the call.

Daniella is now starting to get angry and frustrated. It has been hours since the race and Lando hasn’t texted her back or picked up her call. She knows that he is very upset but she at least expects him to be a little concerned about her, just like she was about him.

After he declined another one of her calls she decided to give up and just switch off her phone.

She tried to sleep but couldn’t as multiple thoughts were running through her mind, also the splint was get more irritating and uncomfortable by the seconds.

In frustration she took off the splint and threw it across the room as she let out a scream.

After the briefing with the team and all the post race responsibilities were done, Lando finally was about to leave.

The paddock was almost empty but there were still some fans around, waiting to run into some drivers.

He would have preferred to leave without being noticed but unfortunately that was not the case. A few fans approached him, asking if he could sign some merch and take selfies.

He obliged, putting on a fake smile.

“Thank you,” one of the fan smiled as they took a selfie. “I am sure you will get your win soon.”

“Thanks,” Lando flashed a smile at the fan.

“And if you see Daniella could you please let her know that we wish for her to het well soon,” the fan asked, making Lando confused.

“Sorry what?” his smile disappeared. “What do you mean?”

“Umm she hurt her shoulder or something and had to go the hospital…” the fan explained, feeling confused herself as it was all over the news.

Lando blinked a few times, remembering how Daniella was holding her shoulder when he spotted her with Pierre.

“I thought you knew,” the fan said. “She even went to see you before going to the hospital…it was all over social media.”

Lando's heart skipped a beat.

Daniella waited for him and he didn’t open the door.

“Yeah umm..I gotta go,” he said before rushing to his car.

The fans looked at each other before taking out their phones to post on social media about what just happened.

Lando got in the car and unlocked his phone, there were multiple texts and missed call from Daniella. He cursed at himself before calling her back but it wasn’t ringing.

He put down the phone and started his car, making his way to the hotel where Daniella is staying.

A/N: Lol! What is going to happen next??  Will Lando and Dani able to work this out?

Also I lowkey want to make Daniella a Mercedes driver but she already has three year contract with Red Bull... What to do??

Just the thought of Dani in Merc, and Toto breaking tables while Dani and Lewis  fight for the championship and crashing into each other makes me smile.
