Marinette Dupain-Cheng's P.O.V.

I hang up from Alya's call. Then suddenly, my face creeps into a long smile.

"What's with that face?" Tikki looks at me suspiciously. I give her a knowing grin.

Tikki gives me a very confused grimace, "So you're excited about going to the dentist with Alya?" She asks and I giggle.

"No, silly! It's a fakeout! Alya just said that we're going to the dentist because she didn't want to let the cat out of the bag! That is about my surprise party!" I say to Tikki who looks at me in suspicion.

"But, Marinette, why would she do that? Why can't she just tell you?" She asks which makes me roll my eyes.

"Duh! It's supposed to be a surprise!" I say to her.

"Then why do you know about it if it's a 'surprise'?"

I breathe at her question.

"Yes, I do know about it! But I'll just pretend to be surprised so that their feelings aren't hurt!" I explain, "You see, Juleka totally freaked when I caught her with the bicycle pump! That means balloons at the party! And I also caught Nino listening to my favourite song! But he hates it so he must be making a playlist for me! There'll be dancing and lights!" I say but Tikki still looks at me with a blank expression.

I glare at her, "Then what about when I saw Adrien having a secret conversation with Alya a few days ago?" I ask.

Tikki scoffs, "Why wasn't (Y/N) the one to talk to him?" She asks suspiciously.

I nod, "Okay, good point. I thought about it too! But just then, I saw (Y/N) carrying a huge bag and Rose handed her what seemed like a present! So, there's gotta be a lot of presents!" I squeal which makes her shake her head.

"Check it out! I'll just ask Mom and Dad!" I say and rush downstairs to the bakery.

"MOM! DAD! Do you know anything about a surprise party Alya's planning for me?!" I ask them, only looking at them to see my father and mother...decorating a birthday cake.

As expected.

I watch as they struggle to put back the cake in a panic to my arrival. I smile innocently at them.

"Surprise party? When? Who's Alya?" My father says to which I chuckle inwardly. My mother shakes her head. "You're overdoing it, dear~," She whispers with a smile. He nods, "Oh! You mean, Alya! I haven't seen her in years!" He says to which I turn back and close the door.

"See, Tikki! Parents are always involved in surprise parties!" I say to her as she pops out of my pocket.

I grab my phone to check the time.

2:00...

The bell rings and my eyes perks at the door.

"And just look who's here to take me to my surprise party!" I say as I gleefully walk towards the door and open it.

"GRANDMA?!"

(Y/N) (L/N)'s P.O.V.

I run out of my house as I realise what time it is. Today's Marinette's birthday! Alya's in charge of the setup; which is basically a 'trip to the dentist' whilst I've taken the liberty to pull off some decorations.

On my way to the park, I go to the store to get some balloons.

As I walk out of the store, I see a lady on a bike looking around with a confused look.

She spots me and calls for me, "Little girl, do you know where Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie is?" She asks in a rough French accent, "My old head doesn't seem to remember where it is!" She says which makes me nod.

"It's right there, down the street to your left!" I say and point her the directions.

She grins at me, "Thank you, l'amour!" She pats my head, "Your kindness has earned you a badge!" She says and hands me a badge with a picture quoting 'Seven Wonders of the World'.

"I got this badge when I travelled to Rome and saw the Colosseum!" She says ecstatically.

I smile at her. "Thank you!" I say as I happily receive the gift.

"You look like the same age as my granddaughter! Call me Nona Gina! What's your name?" She says to me enthusiastically.

"I'm (Y/N)." I politely answer. She then puts on her sunglasses and smirks at me, "I hope we meet each other soon, (Y/N)! Goodbye!" She waves and drives her bike away.

Seven looks at her from a hidden view, "What a cool grandma!" She says in amazement.

"Hey!" I pout at her playfully, "I have a pretty cool grandma too!"

I watch the woman go out of view. I look at the badge and pin it to my jacket.

"Let's go!" I say as I head for the venue of Marinette's birthday.

4:00...

"It's time!" I yell as everyone rushes to finish decorating. I signal Alya to call Marinette. As soon as she does, she gives me a thumbs-up.

She goes to meet up the birthday girl at the designated spot.

"It's really nice what you're all doing for Marinette!" Seven whispers from my pocket, "Your decorations look great, (Y/N)!"

I nod, "It's the best I can do for her, Seven. She was the first genuine friend I had! I'm really glad at how things turned out!" I assert.

Seven chuckles, "You're also glad that you got to spend some time with Adrien more, aren't you~?" She slyly adds making me blush. I shush her.

"He's right there!" I whine as I glance at the said-boy who's only a few metres away from me.

"She's here!" I hear Rose say. I turn to see Marinette blindfolded by Alya as she is led to the park.

Alya pulls off the blindfold.

"SURPRISE!" We all shout to which Marinette grins happily.

All of greet her with gifts which I had stacked in the back so she couldn't see.

It's my turn as I walk up to her with a goofy smile. I give her my perfectly wrapped gift, "Happy Birthday, Marinette!" I say to her as I embrace her in a hug, "Don't open it yet!" I put her hands down so she doesn't do so.

"By the way, I called it that you already knew about the surprise..." I whisper to her to which she nods.

"Touché..." She comments as I pinch her cheeks.

We all have a great time as we party and dance to the birthday girl's favourite songs.

That's when a sudden familiar pain strikes at my chest. "Now? Really...?" I groan as I take a look at Marinette, deciding that the birthday girl should be left uninterrupted...for a while.

As I sneak away from the party, that's when I see the Akumatied victim, flying in the sky with an awfully familiar bike.

Unluckily, the villain spots me. "Oh, look what we have here~," A familiar voice says.

I recognise the voice, "Nona Gina?!" Shocked, I look at the descending figure.

"That's Befana for you, l'amour!" She says as she stops right in front of me.

I then notice a fairy-like figure next to her.

"T-That's Marinette's mom..." I back away.

Befana chuckles, "So you do know Marinette! My lovely, lying granddaughter!" She says with poison in her tongue.

Marinette's grandma...what a coincidence...

"I'm sorry, (Y/N). This is a lovely chat but I have to punish those who are bad and reward those who are good!" She says and points a gun at me.

"And you certainly have been very kind to me, l'amour. You deserve to be a fairy!" She says and shoots at me. I try to dodge her shot but end up getting shot.

I blackout.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng's P.O.V.

"Hey, where's (Y/N)...?" I ask Alya as I look around.

Alya follows my gaze. "I don't know, she was just here..." She says to which I start getting worried.

Then a familiar voice sings above us which makes us all look up to the sky. A villain flies above us.

"G-Grandma?" I stutter as I see her in an Akumatized form, flying on her bike. Beside her are fairy figures of my mother and...(Y/N)?!

I gasp as she jumps off and lands in front of me.

"Ah, Marinette-a~ You lied to your grandma!" She says to me to which I shake my head furiously.

"N-No, Grandma! I didn't know Alya was throwing a surprise party for me!" I deny. Alya backs me up, "She's for real, Ma'am!"

She scowls at me, "And all those candies you pretended to eat?!" She yells as she fixes her gun. My heart drops when I realise the cause of the Akuma.

"I-I'm so sorry, Grandma...but I didn't want to upset you," I admit as I look down.

She laughs, "I'm not your grandma anymore! I'm only Befana and I'll punish you for all those lies!" She points her gun at me, going to shoot.

Alya pushes her to which she misses and hits Mylene instead, who turns into coal.

"No!" I scream, my chest tightening from fear. I try to run but then Mom blocks my way.

"It's rude to leave when Befana's speaking," She states, ready to shoot me again.

That's when Cat Noir arrives. He uses his baton to miss her shot. "Hey, I didn't think grandmas' were so nasty!" He remarks.

Befana smirks, "You'll look good in white, my pretty little kitty~," She says and tries to shoot him but he dodges.

"I prefer black, Nona. It brings out my eyes, don't you think?" He asks while she shoots him.

"Take care of that cat and leave Marinette to me!" Befana says and (Y/N) chases after him.

I back away from the villain as Mom leaves me be. On the other hand, Cat Noir dodges (Y/N)'s attack. "I thought fairies were supposed to be nice!" He says as (Y/N) pins him down.

I look up to Befana. I start running away from her as she shoots at me.

"You're not getting away, Marinette-a~" She taunts. I fall on the ground and (Y/N)'s present falls out.

I try to grab the present but Befana shoots it and it turns to coal, "You're not worthy of such presents, you disobedient girl!" She says as I turn to her. She tries to shoot me but seems to be out of candy. She picks up the candy box she gave me earlier and uses it to fill her gun.

That must be where the Akuma is.

I hide under a clothed table. "This is not how I imagined my party to be like..." I say to Tikki.

"Marinette!" Seven hovers towards me.

"Seven, what happened to (Y/N)!?" I ask her.

"Your grandma is what happened!" She says, "We have to get her back!" She says as I try to get out of there.

The villain destroys the table I'm hiding in and I run to hide behind a tree.

I want to transform but I'm in open ground.

"Cat Noir!" I call out for him as he's still stuck with (Y/N).

"I'm coming!" He claims but only to be pushed down by (Y/N). Just then the tree also gets destroyed and I run behind the table.

Befana stands before me with a wicked grin.

"Now you'll get what you deserve!" She says, pointing the gun at me.

Alya starts hitting plates at her, "Marinette is not a liar!" She defends me. Befana then shoots at her, "Someone has to teach you table manners!" She yells as Alya turns to coal.

"Alya! No!" I scream.

Kim tries to tackle her but ends up turning into coal as well. I feel my tears form on the edge of my eyes.

I see all my friends ready to stop Befana.

"It's is ill-mannered to stand up to an elder like this!" She says with anger lacing her voice.

"Sorry, I'm late. Let's get you out of here..." Cat Noir comes and grabs me before we escape as Befana's distracted.

He takes me from roof to roof, "You must be a really cool girl if you're friends are sticking up for you like that." He says as he runs on a building top.

"What did you do to (Y/N)?" I ask him out of concern. He chuckles awkwardly.

"You don't need to worry about that. So, why's your grandma flipping out on you?" He asks and I sigh, "I think she just wanted me to spend more time with her."

He then takes me to the top of the Eiffel tower, "It's okay! You'll get your grandma back!" He says about to leave.

"Oh, and Happy Birthday, anyway!" He says with a childish grin.

"Thanks!" I smile at him as he leaves.

"Let's get my Nona back!" I say to Tikki.

"Tikki spots on!" I transform into Ladybug. Seven hides in my yo-yo. I run to where Cat Noir is. Befana sings as he turns more people into coal and fairies.

Cat Noir uses his baton to knock her down.

"Cat Noir comes to you unexpectedly~" He sings along to the tune, "How do you make that rhyme?"

I smirk and join the battle before singing, "Fighting evil with a lady~"

He smirks, "Of course! Nice rhyming, Ladybug!" He says to me making me bow.

"Thank you~," I say as I face Befana.

"Where have you hidden Marinette-a, you silly cat?!" She asks aggressively to Cat Noir.

"I forget-a?" He jokes to which I roll my eyes.

"Take care of these pests!" She orders the fairies to fight us.

"Marinette, get me close to (Y/N)!" Seven whispers and I nod, "Gotcha!" I catch hold of (Y/N) with my yo-yo who tries to break free.

"How do you make them human again...?" I mutter under my breath. I have to get (Y/N) again. If no (Y/N), no Primvère Rosé. If no Primvère Rosé, more risks in reviving the Akuma.

I see Befana heading for the Eiffel Tower.

"We can't let her get to the Eiffel Tower!" Cat Noir says. I pretend like I don't know why. "And why is that?"

"Because that's where I hid her granddaughter!" He says and heads out of Befana.

He hitches a ride on Befana's bike and drifts it off of its course. I let go of (Y/N) and follow them, knowing Seven's up to something. Cat Noir falls off the bike and I catch him before swinging to the tower's edge.

"What a sweet ladybug you are~! You'll make a great fairy!" Befana says and shoots white candy at me. I dodge them.

"Thanks, but no, thanks!" I say with a smirk.

"You dare to decline a gift from Grandmama?! Ungrateful child!" She says, offended.

"Faries, take care of the kitty while I give a lesson to this selfish bug!" She says and chases me. I ascend the Eiffel tower.

She fires straight into the air, and I manage to duck out of the way. The projectiles are pulled down by gravity. My eyes widen as they're about to hit back at me. Then, I feel myself being pulled away.

I look at the person doing so and I smile.

"Primvère!"

Primvère Rosé's P.O.V.

"Miss me~?" I tease as I safely place her on the edge of the tower.

I watch as Befana's also afraid of the projectiles as she dodges them afraid.

"I knew I could count on Seven! How did she do it?" Ladybug says and I sigh.

"Well, she got into my miraculous and used its power to break me from the Akuma's bond...or that's what she said..." I say to her, "And can you tell me what's the situation?"

Befana attacks us to which we continue to dodge them.

"My Nona got Akumatized because I didn't really hang out with her today and I pretended I liked the candy she gave me but she found out..." She says with a guilty tone, "And now she wants to get revenge for my lies. She shoots black candy to bad children and turns them into coal, and white candy to turn them into-"

"Faries..." I sigh as I get a flashback of the attack.

"I met your grandma before today! She was asking for directions for your bakery! I thought she was just a customer! She even gave me a badge!" I say with a grin and Ladybug giggles.

"She is my grandma after all!" She says as we jump up to a floor in the tower.

Befana seems to have run out of candy to which we get time to escape.

"Cat Noir!" Ladybug calls out as I see him approach us.

"Who's at the groomer's now?" Cat Noir teases me which makes me roll my eyes.

"I saw Befana dodging her own candies! Even she can't touch them!" I state. Ladybug points at the candy box, "The Akuma must be in there!" She says.

"Of course!" Cat Noir says in realisation.

"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug activates her power and tuba falls on her hand. I look at the object with much confusion.

"I didn't know you played the tuba..." I note which makes her shrug.

"I guess we'll find out..." Ladybug says. The floor shakes and collapses making the three of us fall to the floor below us. I wince in pain as I sit up.

"Very naughty children..." Befana says as she hovers in front of us, "I'm going to have to take your toys away from you!"

I look at Ladybug as she takes a glance at her surroundings with her Lucky vision.

"Okay, you win, Befana..." She says and nods at me. I take a while to get where she's going.

I look at Cat Noir, "Never too late to tell the truth, right?" I give him a look.

Cat Noir nods, "Yes, I did lie. Your granddaughter is here!" He admits to which I look at Befana.

"I don't believe you..." She says, which makes Cat Noir stand up, "I'll take you to her myself." He says and starts leading her to the top of the tower.

"Keep an eye on them!" She orders the fairies.

Ladybug gives me the signal.

"Roses Divine!" I chant and an array of purple rose petals attack the fairies, rounding them up to one spot.

I grab a hose from the side of the tower with my whip, "I'm sorry, guys. We'll have to put you on timeout!" I say and attack them. We knock them out and tie them out with the hose.

"On the elevator..." Ladybug whisper and we take them up.

To trick Befana, we put them on the elevator and press the down button, "That should buy us some time," I say as we hide from Befana.

"Hold on, Marinette-a~ You won't get away this time!" I hear her say and hop o to her bike before flying away.

Cat Noir releases a sigh of relief.

"Don't worry, Cat Noir. Marinette is in safe hands!" I say to him as we watch Befana chase the elevator to the ground floor.

We drop down from to the ground level.

"Cat Noir, the fire hydrant!" Ladybug signals him.

"Cataclysm!" He uses his Cataclysm on the fire hydrant. I put the tuba over the stream of water. The water goes into the tuba and is redirected towards Befana.

"No!" Befana tries to get away from the stream of water and shoots it with her gun, however, the water has covered her gun. We watch as the tuba, the water, and Befana are all turned into coal.

Ladybug goes ahead and takes the candy box before breaking it.

The Akuma flies out of it. "Time to de-evilise!" She de-evilises the Akuma and releases it.

"Miraculous Ladybug/Primrose!" She throws the tuba into the sky and I shoot an arrow into the air. Everything goes back to normal.

The villain de-transforms. Gina looks at us very confused.

"No more injustice in the world and here's a token from a rose~," I chant and rose petals form around me. They hover towards her.

A badge forms on her shoulder strap. I smirk at it as it shows a picture of us, superheroes.

Then, my miraculous beeps.

"See you soon, Nona Gina..." I say to her and swing off.

As soon as everything went back to normal, so did the party continue.

I found my gift for Marinette on the ground in the park. Probably best if I give it to her yet again.

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!" We all sing for Marinette as the birthday cake finally arrives.

She blows the candles and cuts the cake. Everyone cheers for her.

"Hey, Marinette..." I walk up to her with the same goofy grin. I hand over the gift to her again.

"You never got to open it..." I say to her as I wait to see the look on her face. She unwraps it and then her eyes widen, "A LeoDaVin Sketchbook..." She looks at it with surprise.

"I know how much you love designing and I thought maybe you need a new sketchbook! Better yet, a sketchbook of a very inspirational artist, Leonardo da Vinci, because you inspire me, Marinette...Ever since I entered school, you were the first person who saw me and my scars and didn't turn away like my father and every other person. You built me up and told me great things I never thought I would hear from anyone. So..." I flip open the first page.

"I told everyone in our class, and even other people you know to write thoughts about you or things that will inspire you as you've done for me!" I say and look down, a little timid from what I just said.

"I'm just really lucky to have a friend like you..." I say to her.

I look up to see her expression. She looks at me with a kind, warm smile.

"Oh, (Y/N)!" She embraces me into a tight hug, "That's the most lovely thing anyone has ever said to me!" She says as I softly hug her back. I'm taken aback from this tender reaction.

Tears form on the edge of my eyes, "Gosh, Marinette. You're making me tear up!" I joke to which she pulls away.

"You're making me tear up!" She replies and we laugh at our reactions.

"AWWW!" Alya comes and hugs us, "I love you, guys!!!" She says and I chuckle.

"I love you both, too!" Marinette and I say in unison.

I look at Marinette with a playful look.

"Maybe, Ladybug and Primvère Rosé can take a midnight stroll for the birthday girl out in front of Eiffel tower?" I whisper to her and she smirks, "You bet!"
