As Sly as a Fox: Sapotis

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

The quiet days in Paris was something that one could hope for. Ever since Hawk Moth put his victims in play, you could say that the city of love was never the same anymore. Just like how my life had changed but mine had a better outcome.

As I was saying, this was an absolutely normal day...and I got a call from Marinette. She would call me asking about something random as usual. This time, however, she had something in mind.

"Hey, (Y/N)!"

"What's up, Mari?"

"I was wondering if Alya, you and I could have a sleepover! Just the three of us! Since Alya's parents are going for a movie tonight, we have the whole house to ourselves!" She says and I ponder for a while about whether my mother would allow such a request.

"I'll be right there."

---

After my mom finally agreed, a few hours later, I'm here at the doorstep of Alya's house with a bag of essentials and sweating because I ran up the stairs for being a little late.

I ring the doorbell and soon enough, the door opens revealing Marinette.

"Come on in!" She quickly pushes me in which shocks me at first, "What's going on...?"

A nervous grin appears on her face, "Just Alya being herself and telling me that she knows Primvère Rosé is a high school student!" She says to which I chuckle.

"That's ridiculous! The last time I checked, she was rambling about how we are over millions of years old!" I say and she winces dismissively.

"Not anymore..."

Speaking of the devil, Alya enters the room with a long annoyed sigh. "That should keep them tight!" She says and Marinette chuckles. "What was that about?"

"My sisters being a nuisance and playing tricks on us! For Pete's sake, they ate our sleepover snacks!" I smirk at her words.

"Well, fear not!" I pull out my bag, "I had a feeling to bring snacks anyway!"

Both the girls cheer as I pull out some snacks and put it on the table.

"I'll get a bowl!" Marinette chimes and heads to the kitchen, leaving Alya and me in the living room. I anticipate something to go down.

"I have some amazing news, (Y/N)!" The redhead chuckles deeply and I already know what's coming.

"Primvère Rosé is probably 5,000 years old, right?" I nod as she pulls out her phone and skims thought something, making me curious at her behaviour.

"Wrong! There's no way she would be that old! Think about it!" She says enthusiastically as Marinette enters the room with sliced melons and a bowl for our snacks.

"Go on."

With an amused smile, I urged her to continue.

"I downloaded an app and used clips of her talking and it turns out she's the same age as us!"

I choked at that. A worrying chuckle escapes my lips as I bite my lip.

"Great theory but technology can be a little wrong sometimes, you know that. Right?"

"Sure! You'll think that! Same goes for Ladybug, by the way! Both of them are high-schoolers! I know it!" She says and I sigh at her words. Marinette from behind gives me an alarmed look, "We just have to find out who's late during-"

"Don't you think you're getting carried away, Alya?" I huff out, feeling tired at her outburst of thoughts.

"Uh, Alya..." Marinette pulls us out of our conversation and our attention goes to the melons, on the plate, being munched on by Alya's sisters, Ella and Etta. Cuties, I thought, but looking at Alya's face, not so much...

"It's not us! It's the Sapotis!" The twins giggle at the sight of Alya's wrath which scares me for some reason. The older sibling storms off to lecture them as she forces them to follow her back their rooms.

"What was that about?" I ask Marinette.

"Ella and Etta have been giving us a heck of a night, saying 'Sapotis, this. Sapotis, that.'" Marinette explains and I look at her confused.

"Um...Sapo-what?"

"Some kind of legend about evil little creates who go around making mischief everywhere!" She says and a smile spreads across my lips.

"Sounds cute...and a little annoying."

"You got that right..." Alya enters the room again with her angered look dying down. She takes a seat on the couch next to me.

"Well, if I ever knew who Ladybug or Primvère Rosé was, I would keep it a secret! You know, I could even help them!" She suddenly brings up which makes me gape at the way she says it.

"Oh? Help them? Like how?" I ask and she considers for a while. She gives me a devilish smile and I raise an eyebrow.

"Well, if you were one of the heroes, I would be able to help you by covering you during school so you could go and fight the baddies!" She says to me to persuade me which causes me to laugh.

"Okay, so if I were...say Primvère Rosé..." I declare and Marinette raises an eyebrow, "I'd probably never tell you because I would want to protect you from the 'baddies'" I quote with bunny ears to which she laughs.

"Alright, calm down, you two." Marinette chimes in as she seems excessively amused with our conversation. We all have a good laugh and snuggle in between each other ready for a movie. Well, that looks the case until a sharp pain enters my body through my choker.

"Oh, great..." I mutter under my breath as I realise what time it is. At the same time, a crash from the twins' room makes all three of us turn our heads to the source of the sound. This sets off Alya as she groans deeply.

"I've had it with these two!" She yells in anger as she goes to check what's going on. But soon as she enters the room, she screams and runs out of the room.

"It's the Sapotis!" She screams and soon enough, little monsters emerge out of the room and cause havoc around the room.

Marinette jumps up and covers herself as Alya tries grabbing them.

"(Y/N)! The window! We can't let them get out!" Alya says and I run towards the balcony window, trying to close it but failing as one of the creatures jumps on top of me and then out of the window with others following.

"You guys take care of these two, I have to go and get them!" Alya says and rushes out of the apartment door.

"Time to transform!" Marinette alerts me and I get ready in my stance.

"Seven, it's springtime to bloom!" I chant and turn into my alter ego. Marinette transforms as well and we both jump out of the window. We watch as the creatures multiply each time they eat something.

"Thinking what I'm thinking?" I look at Ladybug who nods.

We enter the devastation in the street and begin trying to grab the right creature.

"The Akuma must be in their hats!" I say as I use my whips to break them but the fake ones just disappear.

"Well, well~" I hear a mischievous voice. Cat Noir jumps down and stands with us.

"You're just in time, kitty!"

I break one of the creatures' hat.

"How did you know the Akuma is in the hats?" He asks quizzically as I step back in question.

"Uh...what else would it be?" I give him a cheeky grin and shrug, "However, most of them are clones. We have to find the original!"

"On it!" Both of the heroes holler and we get to the fight, smashing and breaking the hats with our weapons. Not losing any time, Ladybug takes her stance and chants, "Lucky Charm!"

A teapot falls on her hands and she looks at it in confusion.

"Isn't it too late for a brew?" Cat Noir comments and I gaze at it. "Looks so familiar..." I mutter. My mind clicks at second.

"Of course!"

"What is it?" Ladybug asks and then I give her a gesture.

"Ladybug, Cat Noir...hold your grounds! I'll pay a visit to an old friend." I yell, earning approval from both parties.

---

The familiar scent of lavender tea invades my nostril and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere makes me push off the doubt of ever coming here.

"Master Fu..." I call out as I enter his room. He's on the ground meditating and with a deep breath, he opens his eyes.

"(Y/N)..."

"What are you doing here? You aren't supposed to be here." Wayzz looks at me and Seven in worry. I bite my lip nervously as I sit on the floor across him.

"I know but Ladybug's lucky charm...I knew I had to come to you, Master..." I look at him as I tug on my shirt and he nods.

"Ladybug's lucky charm, you say? Her Miraculous does work in mysterious ways."

"What time?"

Master Fu stands up and then walks to the gramophone. Curiosity fills my mind.

"Maybe the three of you need some assistance in this mission."

"Assistance?" I inquire.

"But I've already taken an enormous risk putting out two Miraculouses in motion. I'm not sure I'm willing to do this..." His hesitance was understandable. I mean, he probably thought he lost everything after the tragedy.

"You did the right thing, Master. Ladybug and Cat Noir are doing their best to save Paris from Hawkmoth! I wouldn't have the pair another way...We will be very careful. You can trust us!" I say and then he nods.

"So be it."

He brings out the Miracle box and places it in front of me, opening it up and inside, it shows a display of all the Miraculouses.

"(Y/N) (L/N), pick an ally you can trust to fight alongside you in this mission." I nod at his verbal consent, "Choose wisely. Such powers are meant for the greater good. They must not get into the wrong hands."

Into the hands of someone like Hawkmoth...

"Once your mission is complete, you must bring the Miraculous back to me. Until we uncover the mysteries of the spellbook, no other Miraculouses should be out in the open."

My gaze fixates on a foxtail necklace and pain fills me at its sight. Memories of this one weren't as pleasant as I remembered but then feeling ignites in me. The Fox Miraculous gives the power of illusion, doesn't it?

Illusion. That's it!

"Do you have anyone in mind?" He asks finally and I pick the necklace up.

"I know just the right person..." I stand up with a determined outlook and bow down as a sign of farewell. I put the Miraculous in a box for safe-keeping and then head out.

"Thank you, Master. I won't let you down!" I say and rush out of the shrine, transforming and out to where that certain someone might be.

---

I watch closely as Alya tries to convince her sisters-turned-villains to back down. I jump down and break each of their hats, probably startling the redhead.

"Primvère Rosé! You have to help me! My sisters have been Akumatized! I have to bring them back home!" Concern laced her words and I smile at her.

"No worries. We'll help you find them but we're gonna need your help. You up for it?" I challenge her and her eyes glisten.

"M-Me? Helping you superheroes?! Of course, I will! Just wait till I tell-"

"Wait. You can't tell anyone!" I stop her from saying anything, "You have to promise me you won't tell anyone. It's for your own good."

She gives me a look of uncertainty but nods, "I promise."

With a satisfied smile, I hold out the Fox Miraculous box.

"Alya Césaire, this is the Miraculous of the fox. It grants the power of illusion. You will use it only for the greater good." I say as she takes it in awe. "But once the job is done, you will have to hand it back to me. Can I trust you?"

"Of course, Primvère Rosé!" She says and opens the box. From the familiar light glistening and floating around her, I can only manage to let out a sigh of relief.

"What is this thing?"

"I am not a thing." A cute cheery voice speaks out, a miniature fox appears. and I can only assume it's Alya's Kwami.

"My name is Trixx and I am at your service!"

"Alya, this is your Kwami," I speak and Trixx hovers around the said-girl.

"I know! You're the one who gives superheroes their powers!" Alya says. Trixx and I share a glance.

"Not bad." The small fox applauds and I shrug like a proud mom.

"Only the best."

"The magic words are 'Trixx, Let's pounce'!" She says and then Alya squeals.

"Got it! Trixx, Let's pounce!"

Alya transforms into the fox hero with her orange-white suit and a flute as a weapon. I can tell she's excited for this.

"Awesome! But I look like Lila when she got Akumatized." She states and I flinch inwardly. It was something I wanted to steer clear of.

"Yeah...but the superhero one!" I jest as I get ready to jump. "Come on, let's not keep the others waiting!"

I use my whip to jump onto the roofs of the buildings with Alya who follows suit. As we're closing in on the commotion, I can already see Ladybug and Cat Noir struggling to battle the horde of Sapotis all around them.

"Ready for your first battle?" I chime in to Alya and she smirks. "You bet!"

We use our weapons to destroy the clones and then jump down to Ladybug and Cat Noir.

"This is so insane! I have superpowers and I'm fighting with weapons!" Alya exclaims.

"Who's this superhero friend of yours?" Ladybug shares a similar glance of excitement with Cat Noir when they see the newest hero.

"Ladybug, Cat Noir, it is my honour to present..." I'm at a loss of words so I give Alya a gesture.

"Rena Rouge! Yeah...My name is Rena Rouge..." She says in a not-so-awkward way to which I chuckle.

"I thought a new addition might help," I state to which Ladybug nods.

"Nice to meet you, Rena Rouge!"

Cat Noir eyes her mischievously, "Well, sneaky fox. Think you can be as sneaky as a cat?" He teases to which Rena Rouge looks famished.

"Wanna bet?" She says. Ladybug and I laugh at his attempt.

"I think working with you is going to be fun," He says and then kisses her hand. "If you want any awesome superhero advice, you know where I am~"

I let out a snicker. "Forgive this reckless cat, Rena Rouge. I think he needs to be taught some manners~" I joke and he rolls his eyes, "If I'm getting extra hours with you, m'lady, I'm up for it~" He winks at me and I stick my tongue out at him.

"Get a room, you two." Ladybug says in disgust and I glare at her.

"On a serious note, let's fetch some Akuma!" I shout and then get ready for battle. Swarms of Sapotis comes our way, chanting Miraculous over and over. I get a weird creepy feeling but go-ahead for a fight anyway.

"We need a distraction and a way to get to all of their hats..." Ladybug says as we try to take them off. Her miraculous beeps and she sends us a nervous look.

"I might have an idea..." The fox superhero chimes and I smirk.

"Ready when you are, Rena Rouge."

"I haven't done this before, so..."

"Just think of what you want to create and do it!" Cat Noir assures her and then she sighs, picking up her flute.

"Mirage!" She plays her flute and chants which creates an illusion of a giant amusement park, gaining the attention of all the Sapotis on the ground. They race towards the mirage in a complete delusion that it's real.

"Ladybug, grab that trashcan!" I say as I too get ready.

"Roses Divine!" I chant and use the rose petals to pop off each of the Sapotis' hats and put them in the trashcan. Soon enough, the illusion vanishes and the creatures are huddled up in one spot.

Cat Noir uses his Cataclysm to destroy it along with all the hats which makes the Akuma fly out. Ladybug de-evilises the Akuma.

"Miraculous Ladybug/Primrose!" Everything goes back to the way it was. I spot Etta and Ella on the ground, probably clueless of what's happening.

Rena Rouge nearly runs towards them but I pull her back. "A secret, remember?" I whisper and she quickly retracts back.

"No more injustice in the world and here's a token from a rose~" I chant to which rose petals form around each of the twins' wrists. Identical bracelets form and they look at me in wonder.

"Shh. Keep this a secret for me, will you, little Sapotis~"? I say in a playful tone and then they giggle. Soon after, all of our miraculouses beeps.

"Gotta pounce before I change back!" Rena Rouge says. "Right behind you..." I say to her and she nods.

I look at Ladybug and Cat Noir. "I'm pretty sure you can take these two imps back home~?" I poke their cheeks as they titter.

"Will do, m'lady~," Cat Noir says as I retreat and follow her.

Once out of sight, Alya transforms back and Trixx comes out of her necklace.

"THAT WAS SO COOL!" She yells.

"You did a pretty good job on your first try, Alya. I'm proud of you!" I say to her and she grins. I hold out my hand, signalling her to hand the Miraculous back and she stares at it.

"You know, if I hold onto it, I can help you, Ladybug and Cat Noir every single day!" She says in defence and I can't help but frown. "But you promised," I say with grief lacing my words. She bites her lips, not knowing what to say.

"I'll be careful! I swear!" She says as I feel my Miraculous beep violently.

"I don't have much time, Alya! But I trust you!" I say instantly enter a door before transforming. I sigh in relief at the fact that at least I didn't reveal my identity to her. Seven falls into my hands and looks at me as a deep feeling of guilt washes over me.

The door slowly creaks halfway open and my breath hitches.

Please, no...

I anticipate someone entering the door but then a hand reaches in with the Miraculous box. I exhale calming myself.

"Sorry, Prim..." Alya says from the other side of the door and leaves as I grab the box.

With a smile, I look at Seven.

"I told you she's trustworthy..."

---

Marinette and I walk up the stairs to Alya's apartment yet again.

"So...Rena Rouge?" She asks me with a hint of enthusiasm. I chuckle, "Guess who?"

"It's Alya, isn't it?" She says way too quickly and my eyes widen.

"How did you...?"

"Please. I could tell it was her from the start!" She says which makes me laugh. We ring the doorbell and expectantly, Alya opens the door.

"MARINETTE! (Y/N)!" She hugs us in a panic.

"We went halfway across Paris searching for Alya! Where were you?!" I ask, pretending to be clueless.

"You won't believe what happened to me!" She says as she pulls us into the apartment. "Oh, what happened?" Marinette asks in a fit. I just hope she doesn't spill the beans.

"I-I...uh...saw Ladybug and Primvère Rosé in total action but I didn't blog it! Super let down!" She says and I giggle.

"We're just glad you're safe..." I say and pull the two of them in for a hug, "Yeah..."

We all walk to the living room and sit on the couch in front of the TV as we originally planned.

"So...I heard the superheroes had another one of the heroes with them! A girl!" I say in fake surprise and Alya snaps her head towards me.

"wHAT?" She asks, "Who was she?"

"Weren't we watching a movie?" Marinette sneakily adds and I nod. "Yeah, we were!"

"Seriously, you guys! Tell me more about her!"

With a light pat to her head, I shrug. "No idea what you're talking about, gal,"

She pouts and glares at both of us, "You're so mean!"
