Dong Hua

She looked at me with cold eyes as if she doesn't recognize me at all, her smile is sinister and there's no sweetness to it. "Dong Hua Dijiun, what a non pleasant surprise." She said coldly and I felt like I was sliced with crystal pieces. "Jui're this is not you, remember who you are please." I begged and she laughed coldly. "You have high hopes for me don't you? As far as I know you don't beg the ones who dwell in the darkness, so why are you pleading with me?" There was no warmth or kindness in her, she was somebody else not my Jui're. "XiaoBai I know that I caused this but I don't want to fight with you, your parents want their daughter back." She smiled but it didn't reach her eyes. " The only way this will end is if you kill me or I kill you." Her voice was sharp and her words sliced up my flesh, out of nowhere she pulled out her sword and started fighting me.

Her phoenix flower that I loved so much no longer bared light and goodness but pain and darkness, it's natural red colour had been taint with darkness and it was no longer a a flower of pureness. "XiaoBai stop fighting me!!" My words seemed to fuel her up even more and she tried to stab me in my heart, I blocked it only for me to stab her and my world stood still. "XiaoBai!!" I screamed in horror but she smiled and she looked at my sword and then she pulled it out. "Dong Hua you should leave, once again you have proven yourself." Blood was dripping from her mouth and she looked at me. "Maybe it was my fault that I loved you so much, maybe if I realized we were never meant to be....." I grabbed her and held in my arms. "Jui're I have always loved you, you are meant to be with me." She laughed and for a second the sweet naughty and mischievous girl I fell in love with resurfaced. "Knowing that you love me, I can die at least happy." After saying that she went limp in my arms, I screamed loudly and I screamed myself awake.

I was sweating so much and my heart was hammering so much it was like it was trying to escape me, my eyes were wet and my heart constricted painfully. I felt unsteady and shaken but I willed myself to get up and I went to the fairies courtyard, everyone was already gone only XiaoBai was still asleep her fox tales swaying swiftly like a wind and she was mumbling incoherent things.

I went to sit next to her sleeping form and I touched her face, she grabbed my hand and put it under her arms. "Dong Hua." She mumbled softly and I sighed, I felt the weight lifting off my shoulders. ' It was just a dream.' I assured myself , she stirred a bit and ever so slowly her eyes opened. "Dijiun." She called me softly her voice sounding groggy. "You like hugging me, don't you?" Her eyes widened and she looked at my hand then at me and her whole face flushed. "Even if I'm hugging you, you're not supposed to be here!" She arched her eyebrow at me. "Every fairy in heaven is awake and has started on their duties and my cook hasn't woken up to serve me breakfast, I was wondering what might have happened to her." She looked around the room and her eyes got even wider. "Oh!! I'm sorry!!" She exclaimed as she hurriedly woke up and ran to my palace, she left me chuckling to myself. 'This is new.' I thought to myself quietly and by the time I went back to my palace she had cooked sweet and sour fish for me, she bowed her head. "Mmh you made my favourite." She smiled sweetly at me. "Sit down." She blinked at me. "XiaoBai sit." She dropped to the floor unceremoniously. "You want to accompany me right?" She was staring at me for the longest time and suddenly childlike wonder graced her features. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She blinked rapidly and then a lazy smile was on her lips. "You're masked." She softly and I frowned. "You haven't answered my question." I said impassively. "What was your question?" She asked innocently and I sighed. "XiaoBai." She giggled. "What a lovely sound." Her face flushed and a sweet rosy colour was on her cheeks. "I want to accompany Dijiun." She finally answered and then Fangsu walked. "Foster brother." She greeted and then she glared at XiaoBai. "Get me some food." She ordered. "Don't you have hands?" XiaoBai asked and Fangsu raised her eyebrows at her. "You're a fairy here! You do what I tell you to do!" Fangsu fumed. "No, I do what Dong Hua Dijiun tells me to do." She said indifferently. "Now that you have some ass to join you, I will leave you in its company." She bowed her head softly and Fangsu grabbed her. "Let go." XiaoBai said in a very low voice. "XiaoBai, make Fangsu breakfast." I said coldly, she turned and she looked at me. "Gladly." She said just as cold, Fangsu looked smug and when XiaoBai was in the kitchen I looked at Fangsu. "XiaoBai is not your servant, don't order her around." Fangsu frowned at me. "I understand." A few minutes later XiaoBai came out carrying a few dishes of food and a sarcastic smile on her face, she placed the food in front of Fangsu. "I hope you enjoy spit based food." She looked at me and she warmly smiled. "May I be excused." She asked softly. "Oh are you asking for permission now?" I asked and she raised her eyebrow. "No I was just being polite." With that she left me and Fangsu. "She needs to go." She said softly. "Why? Do you feel threatened by her?" Her eyes went wide. "Of course! She's just a fairy, it's just that she doesn't respect you." She said softly. "Says who?" She looked confused. "Fangsu I mean this, Leave XiaoBai alone." I got up and went in search of XiaoBai, I found her staring at the waterfall and she sighed. "Dijiun is an ass just like his sister." I laughed and she turned around and looked at me. "You're fearless aren't you?" She ran towards me and stood in front of me. "I'm not fearless, I don't fear you." She said. "Why not?" I asked curiously. "You are masked." She said softly. "You are so cold, You are stony and stoic but that's just a mask. Dijiun your mask is so intact it will so hard to lift." She sighed. "Are you trying to lift it?" I asked myself before I could stop myself. "You warned me not to fall in love with you, so does it matter if I'm trying to lift it or not doesn't it?" She asked softly. "It doesn't." I said coldly and she frowned. "You really know how to hurt a person's feelings." She said softly. "Maybe you should leave." I said coldly. "Fine!" She walked away from me without looking back.

Jui're

If I'm not wanted then I won't force myself, I'm used to this anyway. I went look for Yang Yang and I found him reading an immortal scroll. "Fengjiu! Finally got some time for me?" He asked while smiling but his smile fell and he frowned. "What's wrong?" He asked softly. "I'm leaving." I said quietly and he frowned. "What happened?" He asked just then one of the guards came running. "High lord you are needed, there's an attack in Dijiun's palace immediately when he said that I teleported to his place. He was fighting some dark energies and there was more of it surrounding, I summoned my sword and started fighting along side with Dijiun.

I raised a shield around him to keep the dark energies from clinging to him, I fought with the dark energies but one flew straight to my heart and I staggered and I spat out blood. "XiaoBai!" I heard Dijiun's frantic voice and without looking at him, I fought the dark energies and out of nowhere I blacked out and I fell down.

Dong Hua

She layed down still and unmoving, she was pale and unresponsive. I removed the shield that she put around me and I went to her and held her in my arms. "XiaoBai." I called her softly and her eyes flickered open for a second and then she closed them again, I scooped her up in my arms and I kissed her forehead gently. "Why would you do something like that?" I asked softly, I opened her robe and I saw the black residue clinging by her heart, I chanted the spell of removing dark magic. I wiped her sweaty forehead and I transferred some of my healing energy to her, I caressed her face gently. "This is the second time you have saved me, what are you doing to me?" Her phoenix flower flickered and I just watched her waiting for her to wake up, something about her was making me not want to let go, something in her was calling into the deep parts of my being. ' XiaoBai what are you trying to do to me? You were right when you said you're not like the many goddesses I've met, just tell me what your trying to do to me.' I sighed and my mind wondered to a far away place and my soul was in complete chaos.
