Part 9

Dabi slept for a while before he groggily woke up. He sat up and winced in pain, feeling the stitches on his abdomen. He looked around the room and saw his husband sleeping in a nearby chair, cuddled up to something. "Kei-go." His own voice sounded hoarse, like he'd been screaming for hours. "Keigo?" He tried again. "Oh. You're awake. How are you feeling?" Shinso walked in with Nezumi. "Dabi? Awake? Feel better?" Keigo shifted in the chair and nearly fell out. "I'm up. I'm up." Dabi moved his hands to his stomach, feeling for the baby. "Fuck. The baby." "She's right here." Keigo handed the little thing to Dabi, who cried as she was placed in his arms. "My baby." Dabi held his daughter and one thought ran through his mind. "They won't take you. I'll kill them all. They won't keep you from me." "You still need to name her." Shinso picked up his own daughter and sat her at Dabi's feet. "You didn't name her?" "No. I wanted to wait for you to wake up." Keigo gave Dabi a gentle kiss and moved to sit next to him. "She has been a little demon from what I've heard. Those lungs. She's got a pretty good set." Shinso scoffed as he chuckled. "My little devil." Dabi thought for a bit until the doctor came in. I need everyone who didn't just have a c-section or isn't a baby to leave. I have to follow up." The two adults left, taking the young three year old with them. "How are you feeling,Dabi?" "I'm in pain. Shit hurts. What the hell happened?"

The doctor explained while running tests on Dabi and the baby. "Everything looks good. I'll give you a few more days of bed rest then feel free to move around. Oh. Her name?" Dabi looked to the white haired girl. "Hmm. My little fire demon needs an appropriate name. What about Hinokuma?" The girl giggled and cooed at Dabi's voice. "Yeah?" The doctor nodded and left to fill out his paperwork. Keigo rushed back in. "Oh and good news for little Hino, she's an alpha." "Hino? Really?" Dabi chuckled. "Hinokuma." "Fits her." Shinso gave Dabi the rest of the month off, and within a few days Keigo had them moved into their new home. "The only thing that sucks is while you were out, omegas are forced to stay at home. As in not allowed to leave even with their bonded mate." Dabi put Hinokuma in her rocking swing and then sat on the couch. "But I'm not bonded. I know we're married, but you haven't marked me. And you know I'm not ready for that." Keigo took a deep breath. "Baby bird. You know I love you right?" Dabi nodded as he eyes Keigo suspiciously. "What did you do?" "I marked you. I'm sorry. I know. But the government was going to take her away from us if I didn't." Dabi felt crushed. He slowly got up, picked up Hinokuma, and went to the master bedroom. "Baby bird." "Don't. Don't even talk to me." With that, Dabi locked himself and his child in the bedroom leaving Keigo outside it. "Baby bird. Dabi? Touya!" Keigo banged on the door trying to get his husband to talk to him. "Baby please." Dabi felt the tears rolling down his face. He decided it would be best to nap. As he laid down, Hinokuma began to cry. "I know. It's ok. Daddy's here." He held onto his baby as he tried to calm her down until they both fell asleep.

Days passed before Dabi unlocked the door. Keigo had already gone to work which left Dabi alone in the house with his baby. Or so he thought. "You're a terrible stalker." He said to the shadows. "Or maybe you've just been trained to see me. It's been quite a while." Stain walked out of his hiding place and sat down. "It's only been five years. Calm your tits. What the hell are you doing here?" "Boss wants to see you." Dabi scoffed. "Well I can't exactly leave the house." "Who said anything about leaving?" A familiar voice echoed from the living room. "Fuck." "You know. Your brother did the exact opposite of what I told him to do. You do know if you and he would just listen to me, you wouldn't be bonded and he wouldn't be fighting Chisaki, right?" All for One stood up. "I want you out of my house." "Dabi gritted his teeth. "So snappy lately. You know not to talk to your father like that." "YOURE NOT MY FATHER! You never were. You never will be. You're just some asshole who picked up an omega kid off the street." Dabi held onto Hinokuma a bit tighter. He wanted to fight back, but he didn't want his daughter getting hurt. And he didn't want All for One knowing about her just yet. "I fed you. I clothed you. I put a fucking roof over your head. I loved you like my own. Now tell me how I'm not your father." "You think a cage is a roof? You think leftovers is a meal? Hand-me-downs that don't fit, clothes? The only difference between you and my father, is that you didn't go out of your way to hit me. No. You called it self defense training. Get the fuck out of my house." Dabi almost turned to face the alpha. "Oh why hide her from me? She's my grandchild, isn't she?" Dabi's breathing grew rapid. "An alpha being raised by a fucking beta. Pathetic." All for One turned to leave, but jot before landing a blow to the back of Dabi's head. Dabi knelt down, holding in his pained scream and moving his arms to protect his child. "Stain. Let's go." "All this shot could've been avoided had you stayed with me." Stain helped the omega up, then quickly followed All for One. Once he was sure they were gone, Dabi let his scream out. He was sitting on the couch with an ice pack, while Hinokuma laid in her playpen when Keigo got home. "Baby bird?" Keigo hugged his husband. "What happened? You're hurt. Are you ok?" Keigo looked deep into the turquoise eyes of his lover, and found nothing but hidden pain and sadness. "You don't have to tell me. I'll fix this."
