Part 15

Rei Todoroki began to assist in the testing. Keigo was currently working on the newest formula when he felt his daughter grab his leg. "Mama. Get food with Gramma?" "Sure, snowbird." Hinokuma took Rei's hand as they went to the cafeteria. "Are you sure it's ok for her to call you 'Gramma' and 'Grappa'?" Endeavor simply nodded. "It's perfectly fine. But what about your parents? Or your husband's?" "My husband's parents kicked him out when he was young. For nothing more than being an omega. And my father was never in the picture, even with me growing up. My mother passed a few years ago. An alpha attack while she was trying to visit." Things went quiet for a bit. "I'm sorry to hear that." Keigo sighed as he leaned back in his chair. "It's fine. I guess. I just wish she could've met Hino." The two continued to work.

Rei came back with two plates. "You both still need to eat." "Yeah, mama. Eat." Keigo laughed as he took a plate. "Ready for the last one of the day?" Rei nodded as she was handed a glass of water and a pill. A few minutes went by. Endeavor sniffed. Then again. "I don't smell anything." "Nothing?" "Only her perfume." Keigo jumped out his seat. "It works!" The lab was bustling with noise, Keigo didn't hear his phone go off.

Dabi sat on the couch calling Keigo. "Fucking voicemail. Kei. Please listen. I'm sorry. I was pissed and wasn't thinking. Keigo. Please. Call me. Or come home. Please. I love you." He hung up and leaned back. "Still can't get him?" "No. But we've never gotten into an argument this bad before. What if he never comes back? Hino. What if she ends up growing up without me?" Shinso placed a hand on his shoulder. "This will work out. Keigo's not the type to deny you your child. Unless you were a legit threat to her safety."

Endeavor took Rei and Hinokuma home as Keigo wanted to go out and celebrate with a drink. He sat at the bar taking his fifth shot when he felt an arm. "You sure don't smell like an omega. But you're not an alpha either. What's a pretty thing like you doing here by yourself?" Keigo simply held up his left hand. "Sorry to disappoint, I'm married." "They don't have to know." "Shit. This is what Touya has to deal with? Guy's not taking no for answer." Keigo was silent, thinking. "See? Come on. I've got a hotel room waiting for the two of us." "I have kids." The mention of children was usually enough to drive off any unwanted alphas. "Oh? How old?" "Fuck." "Listen. I don't want anything from you. Leave me alone, please." Keigo got up to leave. "Yep. Time to go." He felt his wrist being grabbed. "I said leave me alone." "You'd do well to listen to an alpha, boy." Keigo was dragged outside. "Fuck. He's gripping too hard. He's too strong. I can't fight him off."  "HEY! The fuck are you doing with my mate?" Keigo heard a woman's voice. "He's yours? Should keep a leash on him then." The woman held on to Keigo and whispered in his ear. "I'm not going to do anything, but I need to get you off the street so I'm taking you to a hotel room." He nodded as followed her.

"The name's Rumi. Got anyone for you to call? Your alpha?" "Not mated to an alpha. My omega is at our house. Fuck. I'm gonna hangover." She laughed. "Yep." Keigo laid down and passed out as soon as he did. Just as his phone rang. Rumi looked at the contact info. "Baby bird? His mate?" She answered. "Keigo. Thank fuck. Please come home. I miss you. I'm sorry. I fucked up." "Hey ok so." "Who the fuck are you?" "An alpha who saved your husband's ass. He's at the only four star hotel in town. Room 409. And FYI, he's drunk." Rumi hung up and sat in a nearby chair playing games on her phone. A few hours passed and she heard a knock. "Hold on!" She got up and opened the door, but was immediately pushed out of the way by a shorter man. "The fuck!" "My question exactly. Compress, find him." Rumi looked to the masked man. "Yo-you're Hijack." "In the flesh. And if I find out you've done anything the beta in this room-" "I didn't. He's laying on the bed passed out." "I'll be the judge of that. Do you know if he had his daughter with him?" Rumi'w eyes went wide. "He had a kid? I didn't see one." Shinso nodded as he watched Keigo be carried out by Compress. "We'll be leaving now." Rumi was left alone in the hotel room. "That guy is connected to the League of Villains?"

Keigo was brought to lair. "Kei!" Dabi rushed to his husband's side. "Where's Hino?" "Currently looking for her."

Meanwhile at the Todoroki household, Hinokuma sat at the kitchen island. "Where mama?" "I don't know. He's not answering." Endeavor tried to call again. "I'm sure he's just late. Here. Have another cookie." "Don't give her anymore." Rei brushed him off. "If she's calling me 'grandma', I'm going to act the part." She smiled as she handed Hinokuma another cookie, desperately trying to distract the little girl. "Keigo. This is Enji. Again. Where are you? Call back as soon as you get this." Endeavor hung up. "He'd better not be drunk." "He probably is." Rei sighed as she stood up. "Grappa? Mama leave?" Hinokuma began to cry. "I do wrong? What I do?" Endeavor rushes to girl. "You did nothing wrong. Your mama is just late getting home. That's all." "Mama go back to daddy?" Endeavor nodded. "I bet he'll be back when you wake up. How about a story then bed?" Hinokuma nodded as she ran to her bed. "What sort of argument did Keigo have with his mate?" "No idea. But something tells me, she heard every word and something was said about her. She must think it was all her fault somehow."
