Part 11

Dabi woke up to the sound of crying. "Devil? It's ok. Daddy's he-" he groaned and winced at the pain. "Hey. You're awake. I can't get her to calm down." Keigo handed the baby to his husband. "What the hell happened?" "You don't remember?" Dabi turned to the blond. "Remember what?" "Mr. Takami. A word?" The doctor urged Keigo out of the room. "Yeah?" The doctor closed Dabi's door. "I believe he, blacked out, during the incident. His mind is forcing him to forget what happened. I'd suggest trying to keep it that way." "May I ask why?" The doctor explained Dabi's past suicide attempts. "I fear if he remeberes, he'll commit this time. Leaving you and little Hino alone. She needs him." "Right. Makes sense. Is there anything I can do to help?" "Just make sure he knows how important he is. That you need him. That Hino needs him." Keigo nodded and returned to Dabi's side. "Hey you got her to sleep." "I always do." Dabi chuckled. "So what happened?" "Oh. You." Keigo thought for a bit. "You got in a bad accident. Apparently you fell off the step ladder while cleaning, bumped your head real good." "That explains the headache. But what about the rest of this pain?" Dabi rocked Hinokuma in his arms. "Your c section scars reopened when you fell. No clue how. Neither does the doctor." Dabi knew Keigo was keeping something from him. "Oh. Well alright then." Dabi turned back to his child. "What happened to your eye?" Dabi couldn't wait to hear Keigo's explanation for that one. What happened to his daughter? How did she get hurt this badly? Dabi felt as if he knew the truth, but he wanted to hear what Keigo said. "Uh. Um. *sighs* I don't have a good answer. I don't know what happened, and no one is telling me." Dabi looked back at his baby girl. "So she's hurt, and no one knows why?" Keigo nodded as Shinso entered the room. "Good news and bad news. Which do you want first?" "I could use some good news." Shinso informed the couple that they could leave, but couldn't go to their house. He welcomed the small family into his penthouse. "Denks and I have the room. Plus I think it's be good for you to be around other people." Dabi nodded. "Why won't anyone tell me what's going on?"

They got up to the penthouse and had a happy Nezumi open the door. "DABI! Papa!!! Dabi here!!! Hi, uncle Hawks." Keigo waved to little girl. "Hey guys. Welcome home. Dabs, how you feeling?" "A little sore. But I'm alright." Shinso and Kaminari walked to the kitchen whispering while Dabi and Keigo went to their room. "See baby?" Nezumi asked as she motioned to Keigo to pick her up. "You want to see Hino?" The young girl nodded. "We play?" "She's a bit too young to play right now, but I can play with you." Keigo was dragged away to let Dabi rest. "We play princess. You be dragon. I be princess." "Ok. So what do I need to do as a dragon? Am I protecting the princess or keeping her prisoner?" The two played for a bit.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen. "He doesn't remember? Good. I'd hate to know what he'd do with all the guns around the place." "I know. As far as what happened to him, he thinks he fell while cleaning. As far as Hinokuma's eye, no one knows." Kaminari nodded. "So we're keeping Stain out of it?" "I'll have to tell him eventually. About me killing him. But I'd rather not think about that now." Shinso gently kissed his husband. "Does he know about the procedure done on him?" "I don't think so. I'll let Kei deal with that one." Kaminari nodded again. "Alright guys! Dinner!"

After dinner, both couples went to their respective rooms. Nezumi was sleeping peacefully in her bed, while Keigo and Dabi were kept up not only by Hinokuma's crying, but the banging in the walls from the master bedroom. "God they're really going at it." Dabi swayed with his baby. "Shhh. Shhh. Go to sleep." "Baby bird, you need to rest. Lay down. I can take care of her." Dabi chuckled. "You can't even get her to eat, how do you plan on getting her to sleep?" The two stayed up for a bit longer. "Finally." Dabi said as he laid Hinokuma in her crib and got into the bed. "Think you can be quiet?" "Hmm. What do you plan on doing?" Keigo kissed Dabi deeply, hands roaming the other's body. "Just a bit of fun." Keigo's hands moved up Dabi's thigh. Suddenly, Keigo was pushed away and Dabi's breathing grew rapid. "Why didn't you tell me? His hands. His body." Dabi's body grew heavy and everything hurt. "I can still feel him." "Crap. I'm sorry baby bird. The doctor thought you blocked it out. Told us all the keep quiet about it." Dabi turned to his sleeping daughter. "He tried to kill her." Keigo sighed as he got up. "I'm going to get your brother. Stay on the bed for me, ok?" Once Keigo left, Dabi searched for one of the hidden guns he knew was in the room. Once he found it, it placed it to his head. "I can't. I can't. It's all my fault." Dabi placed his finger on trigger and almost pulled when Hinokuma began to cry. "Dabs!" Keigo ran and knocked the gun from Dabi's hand while Shinso held Dabi tight. "I told you not to say anything!" "I didn't." Dabi breathed a bit harsher, then screamed. "Dabi ok?" Nezumi tried to enter the room. "Nezumi. Bed. Now." Her father's words were harsh. "Come on little one. It'll be ok." "Daddy yell at me." Kaminari took his daughter back to her room. "You got him?" Keigo nodded as he took over holding Dabi. "I'm here. You're ok. She's ok." Keigo spoke softly. "No one can hurt you anymore." "Fuck. I'm calling the doctor. We've got to get him calmed down. And I can't exactly get rid of the guns." Keigo held Dabi until he felt his husband finally fall asleep. "I know my husband. I know how to calm him down. This reaction isn't new to me. It's just the fact that this was personal for this Stain guy." Keigo set Dabi under the blanket and motioned for he and Shinso to sit in the living room. "Who is Stain, and what was he to Dabs?" "Stain was a critical member of the League. Our assassin. We sent him to deal with problems that required a more subtle but extreme solution." "Was?" "I killed him. Shot him about ten times." Keigo figured that was why they couldn't go back to the house. Stain's body was probably still there. "As far as who he was to Dabi, he was Dabi's ex. The only other person Dabi considered bonding with. The two were in what I would call love. But then." Shinso paused. "Then Stain decided Dabi wasn't good enough for him. Cheated and then blamed Dabi for it. So, Dabs left. Broke up with him and that's when he started having more alpha problems." Shinso explained a bit more how alphas stayed away from Dabi while he was with Stain. But once they broke up, Dabi couldn't keep them off him. "Then Dabi met you. And you pretty much know the rest." "So Stain was a problem long before all this." "I think what makes this situation worse, is our 'dad' knew what was going to happen, and still let it."
