Chapter 4

(Who's your favorite starter Pokémon line? Mines the Cyndaquil line)

"Koraidon? Is that this Pokémon's name? How'd you know it?" Nemona questions the boy.

"It doesn't matter." Arven says.  "Anyways, the form Koraidon takes in battle, the one you two saw... That's its true form." Arven finishes.

Koraidon faces the door and cries, as if it's asking to be let in.

"You can't go into the lab. It's locked." Arven tells the   Pokémon. Arven turns around to face you two once more. More specifically, you, as he looks you up and down.

"I don't remember ever seeing you around. But given the uniform... you go to the academy too, do you?" He said.

"Yeah, i'm actually a new student." You inform him.

"Huh, cool." Is all he said before getting back on the topic of Koraidon. "Koraidon isn't the sort of Pokémon that any old trainer can hope to command. It's special."

"Special how? What sort of Pokémon is it?" Nemona questions in curiosity. Though you know her true intentions. She wants to catch it.

Arven thinks of what to say before looking at you. "You think you're up to ordering Koraidon around-"

"Actually, I really don't."

"The how 'bout I test your worthiness?" He finishes, obviously either not hearing what you said or ignoring it.

"Fine. I need to train my Pokémon anyway." You say.  You both back away from each other holding your respective Pokeballs in your dominant hand.

[You are challenged by Pokémon Trainer Arven!]

You both send out your respective Pokémon, which is Helios and a Skwovet.

"Alright, Helios. Use Peck." You say as Helios flys up and uses its beak to peck the opponent. Arven in response tells his Skwovet to use Tackle, which deals minimal damage to Helios.

"Again!" You call out. Arven again calls for Skwovet to use tackle. Deciding to switch up your strategy you tell Helios to use Quick Attack. Which makes Skwovet very weak. Arven tried to use Tackle again but Helios dodged.

"Helios finish it off with Quick Attack!"

Arvens Skwovet fainted as soon as Helios hit it.

"Seems you know a thing or too about battle." Arven said dejectedly. He paid up the 300 Pokedollars from the battle. Nemona went over to you and praised you on how well you did.

"I guess I wasn't ever going to stand a chance using some Pokémon I'd only just caught..." Arven mumbles, still dejected from the loss. "But if your really want to take Koraidon off my hands for me... you'll need this." Arven says as he hands you Koraidon's Pokeball.

"So why'd YOU have it?" Nemona asks her question again.  Arven again thinks on what to say.

"Anyway, that thing's you're problem now, not mine. Good luck." He completely avoided Nemona's question again. You wanted to tell him to answer his question but the look on his face seemed to look like he was reliving some bad memories.

Arven ran off, leaving you, Nemona, and Koraidon alone again. "Fine be that way! But you better show up for school!" Nemona shouts at his retreating figure, obviously irritated he blew off her question.

"What a weirdo..." She mumble to herself before Koraidon runs up to you as you put him in his Pokeball.

"That Arven guy definitely knows more then he lets on." Nemona thought outloud. She finally opens up her eyes as she determinedly says, "Next time, he and I are battling! I'm gonna wrong some answers out of him."

"But, oh right- we gotta climb the lighthouse! Can't wait to show you the view of our school!" She says in a complete mood change. She grabs your hand quickly as you climb up.

Once on top, you both look out in the distance to see a whole castle in the distance. "Look, Y/n! That's Mesagoza!" Nemona says pointing out into the distance.

"And the huge building with the Pokeball on it is our school!" She continues on. However, you notice another building to the left of it.

"Hey, what is that building to the left?" You ask Nemona figuring she would know.

"Oh! That's the Pokémon League." She says. You smirk a little at this knowing you're going to partake in it. You both stand in a comfortable silence looking out over the distance.

"Isn't it awesome what you can see from up here?" Nemona breaks the silence with a question. "Mountain, Forests, Grasslands, and everything else!" She continues.

"And you know what's waiting for you all over these natural spaces?"

"My dad?"

Nemona gives you a look that says, "that's not funny" before continuing with her monologue.

"No, tons of Pokémon!" She finishes before turning over to look at you.

"Consider the me officially telling you: welcom back to Paldea!" She exclaims happily.

"Thank you." You reply stoically still looking out into the distance.

"But anyway, as you can see, it's kind of a hike to get to school from here." She advises. "So... Let's make it to Los Platos for starters. That's right on the way!"

"Vamos! C'mon!" Nemona shouts as she goes and climbs down the lighthouse leaving you alone.

Timeskip brought to you by Me being lazy and playing OW2 cause Ramattra came out

On your way to Los Platos, you battled Youngster Elian.

Let's just say that he and his Pokémon do not want to battle anymore.

Anywho, back on topic, Y/n is walking on the path when a wild Wooper walking into him. Staring at one another, a bond was formed from then on.

You held out a Pokeball for the Wooper, which it gladly walks into catching itself.

"Your name is going to be... Etcho." And then you both went on to rule the world.

Just kidding, you continued on the route but battled every Pokémon in site to make Grasidi and Etcho level 11.

You continued on until you reach the entrance of Los Platos, where Nemona is waiting for you at the Pokémon Center.

"Oye, Y/n! Over here!" Nemona shouted waving. You ran over to her as she called. "This here's a Pokémon-"

"A Pokémon Center, it heals your Pokémon. I know what it is." You dismiss her. You don't want to go through another one of her beginners explanations.

"O-oh, Sorry! I forgot you already know all of this." She said softly. Sighing, you go up and heal your Pokémon.

"As you already know, I heal your Pokémon," The nurse states before pointing to the man next to her. "And you most likely know this as well but he gives you items like Pokeballs and Potions in exchange for  Cash and LP. Which stands for League Points." She adds on before continuing by pointing at the robot to her right.

"And this to my right is the Technical Machine Machine- TM Machine for short!" She says while you nod. "It's your ticket to making TMs. Which you can make by using materials Pokémon drop and LP!"

You nod, liking this better than what you had to do in Galar for TMs.

"Here, have some LP! I've got lots so don't worry." Nemona says as she transfers some LP to your Rotom phone.

"Thank you." Is your reply. Nemona gave around some 3,000 LP with a message saying 'For my best friend!'.

You smile a little before Nemona interrupts your train of thought. "Oh yeah, and some of these too!" She says as she hands you lots of Pokémon materials.

"Ah! Your Pokémon are ready!" The pink haired nurse says as you grab your Pokémon before heading into town to meet Nemona.

Nemona is standing next to a nice little area of grass, when you find her.

"Nemona." You call out her name getting her attention.

""Y/n!" She says your name in response before closing the distance in between you two. "You see that path over there? Follow it and we'll get to Mesagoza. That's where the Academy is!" She says pointing.

You understand her directions as she stays behind talking to some townspeople. You start on your way when another trainer battles you.

You and Etcho completely destroys the academy student's Pokemon. Handing you the money for winning the trainer gives you a little tidbit of advice before you head on your way again.

Timeskip brought to you but Etcho being level 11 and Grasidi 12

You finally arrived at the Pokémon Center outside of Mesagoza after having to battle many wild Pokémon of the area and another Trainer.

You give your Pokémon to the Nurse as you wait for a moment. However, you notice a fancily dressed man standing a little away from the small center looking at you. Your eyes meet for a moment. In a small decision you decide to talk to the man.

"Hello there!" He greets smiling, in which you greet back with a RBF. "I'm a Pokémon. League rep! Been having done nice Pokémon battles?"

He continues explaining on how if you defeat 4 trainers in South Province Area One he'll give you a reward. In which you definitely have beat 4.

He hands you a TM. Which is Thunder Wave as you put it into your infinite bag.

You wave and walk away, heading to the gates of Mesagoza.

As you reach the step you hear Nemona calling out your name which causes you too turn around.

"Didja battle some trainers on the hill? Bet your Pokémon are getting stronger!" She exclaims before getting to her point, "How about you show me how much you learned... in a battle?" She asks.

"Fine." You say just wanting to get to the Academy, your feet were hurting after walking for so long.

"C'mon, Y/n! Let's have a fruitful battle!" She says before running back giving space for you guys's Pokémon to battle.

[You are challenged by Pokémon Trainer Nemona!]

Nemona sends out Quaxly, while you send out Etcho.

"Etcho, use Mud Shot!" You command first giving you the lead in the HP category. Nemona counters by having Quaxly use Water Gun which does a lot of Etcho's HP.

But, It's too late now. Etcho had already got Quaxly's health low and knocked it out with a Mud Shot. Frustrated, Nemona sends out her newly caught Pokémon, Pawmi.

Trying to end this quick you tell Etcho tp use Mud Shot but Nemona pulls out a weirdly looking Pokeball, saying it's her 'Ace in the Hole.'

Returning Pawmi, Nemonas Pokeball grows crystals on it or something like that and throws it. This makes Pawmi body texture look Crystal like with a Light Bulb signaling it's Electric type.

Etcho used Mud Shot but Pawmi tanked it, even though it's super effective. Pawmi tried to use nuzzle but it failed as it doesn't affect the Poison-Ground Dual Type Paldean Form Pokémon.

Etcho used Mud Shot again fainting Pawmi and breaking it out of its weird Crystallization.

"Man, I can't believe you beat my Ace in the Hole." Nemona says twirling her little strand of hair. She hands you your prize money for winning.

"Amazing! Look at you, taking on a Terastallized opponent and winning, no problem!" She says.

'So that's what it's called...'  You think on the Tetastallized Pokémon.

"Come to think of it, you can't Terastallize your Pokémon yet, huh?" Nemona thinks out loud. "Don't worry, I'll get you taken care of!" She says with resolve obviously determined.

"Anyway, it was fun to battle you! Here, have some Revives as thanks!" She hands you 3 Revives as you put them in your Infinity Bag along with whatever is in there.

"Now, Mesagoza's waiting just past this gate! At last, the city where our school is!" Nemona said excitedly as she grabs your hand. She looks away obviously embarrassed before turning back and speaking. "Let's head in!"

You and her walk in as she tells you all about the city with its hills and stairs, smiles both on your faces.

One thing is easily inferred from the bystander that see the pair.

This is the blossoming of a new relationship.
