third person pov

valerie sat on maddys bed, telling her all about her week right after maddy told valerie about hers.

"woah, hold on, you and vic were fighting?" maddy turned her head away from her mirror.

"yeah... she said a whole bunch a shit like, 'you try to make all my decisions because you think you can fix everything but you can't' i don't know." valerie said.

maddys eyebrows furrowed, turning her body to look at her younger sister. valerie noticed how maddy was about to judge victoria, and shook her head. "but she apologized, so.."

maddy gave her an unsure look, but turned back to her mirror with a shrug. "did you except it? i wouldn't have talked to her ass for awhile."

valerie bit her lip, overthinking if she should've forgave victoria as fast as she did since ashtray said the same thing. "uh, yeahβ€” i did."

maddy looked at her through the mirror, and valerie sighed. "i know, but she's my only friend, maddy."

maddys shoulders dropped a little, not liking how lonely her sister sounded. "i know.. i'm just saying, don't let her take advantage of that. and that's not true, cass and them is your friend too."

val squinted her eyes, "maddy.. when do i ever talk to them? i don't like them as much as you do."

maddy chuckled, "well, if you and victoria ever stop being friends you can hangout with us."

valerie nodded, and then continued telling her everything that happened, laughing at maddys expression when she told her about the whole car crash thing.

"what the fuck?! roy?" maddy gasped, setting her lip liner down.

valerie smiled, "yeah.. i don't think she's talking to him anymore though."

maddy shook her head, and then pointed at her little sister. "hey, that reminds me. are you still talking to ashtray?"

valerie's heart dropped, almost forgetting their argument about him not too long ago. if maddy wouldn't have said that, she would've continued talking and told her about how he told her he likes her. "um.. sometimes, yeah." she lied.

maddy nodded, "yeah, sorry about that fight we had, i was mad at nate, you know?"

val nodded, "it's okay."

the two continued on talking, until maddy was finished getting ready and had to leave, never telling valerie where she was actually going. but once she was alone in her room again, she got a call from ash.

"yo." he said the moment she answered.

"hey." she replied, a small smile on her face.

"whatcu doin?" he asked.

"laying down.. what are you doing?" she responded.

"with fez, you been to the hospital today?" he asked, valerie not yet telling him that victoria was released.

"oh, no. victoria was released." she informed.

"oh shit, that's good. you been to her house then?" he set his phone down on his lap, putting his phone on speaker.

"nope.. maddy was just telling me i should've of excepted her apology so fast, basically." she sighed.

"i told yo ass. what she said was fucked up, val." he took the blunt from fez.

"yeah, i don't know." that's was all that came to her mind to reply with.

"you said you're with fez right? hi, fez!" she spoke after a moment of silence.

she heard fezcos chuckle from the other end, before a "hey, val."

his voice was very calm, and it almost sounded like ASMR on the phone, to valerie.

she smiled, fezco was right. the little talk they had, she hasn't even realized that he was right.

"hey, fez, you remember that talk we had? you were right." she told him.

"what talk? fez, what's she talkin about?" she heard ashtray ask, as fezco chuckled.

she smiled, holding back the laugh that was about to come. "nothin man." fezco answered, and her smile widened at the fact he kept his promise.

"bruh- valerie, what the fuck are you talking about?" ashtrays voice now sounded annoyed, and it was actually quite funny to valerie how he got pissed off so easily, but fez didn't tell on her, she wasn't gonna tell on him.

"it's about victoria, relax." she lied. in all honesty, it would've probably been better to tell the truth than lie about something so small, but in that moment, that came to her mind first.

"mhm." she heard ashtray mumble, before it's was silence and all she heard was the sound of whatever movie or show the two boys were watching in the background. her mind traveled from what they previously just talked about, and to her and ashtrays talk at the hospital. it literally put a smile on her face, knowing after all the doubting, he did in fact like her. ashtray liked her.

as time went by and the two continued to talk on the phone, it got later and she decided to finally end the call, to check up on her friend.. even if she was just doubting excepting her apology so fast earlier.

"hey, ash, im gonna go check on vic.. talk to you later?" she spoke.

"ight, bye." ashtray responded, putting a good three second pause in between the words.

"bye." she hung up, and immediately went to texting victoria. she didn't know wether it would be better to call her or not, but she settled on a little text. no matter what had happened, and doubting herself for the choices she made... victoria was hurt, and before the two didn't have any problems. for the moment, valerie put it aside again and was being a good friend.

valerie
hey
how are you?

victoria
i'm okay :)
you should come over tm or something

valerie sighed, not wanting to jump so fast back into hanging out and everything since she was still doubting forgiving her. it made her feel... fake? almost like she was lying to victoria when she probably thinks everything okay. valerie's life was in some sort of awkward pause. one moment she doesn't know how to feel, about her friend and just life in general, and the next moment she feels on top of the world, happier than ever..Β  awkward.
