Chapter Forty- Nine: It's What We Leave Behind

{Ashton's POV}

"See you soon. I want photos when the baby comes." I hug Perrie. She laughs and nods. I hug Jade, Jesy and Leigh- Anne before hugging the One Direction guys.

"Bye Ash." Asha hugs me leg. I bend down and hug her properly.

"See you soon Ashi." I smile and then follow Michael, Luke and Calum over to the ramp to the plane back to Perth. I turn around and wave to the ten people consisting of One Direction and Little Mix, plus Asha.

I turn around and look at the ramp. Australia here we come...

{Louis' POV}

My phone rings as we all head out to the car park after fare welling the Five Seconds of Summer boys. I grab my phone and it's Eleanor.

"Hi baby." I answer.

"Um hi Lou. You might want to get home quick because I've just got back from the vet with Coco and we now have eight Border Collie puppies." Eleanor says. Oh my gosh that's so cute!

"I'm on my way." I reply and turn off my phone. "Who wants to come and meet Eleanor and my eight Border Collie puppies and take most of them?" I ask. The girls squeal and they all agree to come.

We get home and there's eight adorable puppies walking around. We play with them and hold the tiny pups until Eleanor and I ask who wants one.

"Um we already have three animals, don't need another." Perrie replies for Zayn and herself.

"What genders?" Leigh asks looking at them. Eleanor points to the coloured collars on the a nod we all laugh at Leigh- Anne. The girls have pink and the boys have blue. "I'm going to take this little guy then." Leigh cuddles a boy.

Niall takes two girls, Liam takes a boy, Jesy takes a boy, Jade and Harry take two boys and that leaves Eleanor and I with a girl. We all discuss names and in the end we come up with some pretty cool ones.

Niall chose Bee and Flo. Jesy chose Junction. Liam's dog is called Simba. Leigh- Anne's is called Casper, Eleanor and I named ours Poppy and Harry and Jade named their dogs Nemo and Niall, at Niall's request.

"Well, they're all very adorable!" I smile and rub Poppy's little head. The others thank us and then leave. Thank goodness we don't have ten dogs!

{Indie's POV}

I pat Simba's little back as he lies on the couch next to me. I watch my phone buzz and head out onto Liam's back deck. The call is from my boss so I better take it.

"Hello." I answer.

"Hi Indie!" He replies happily. "How's England?" He asks. I look at the beautiful sky tonight and feel the cold air on my skin. It may be beautiful but it's not home.

"Not like home." I reply. "But it's nice!" I add. Andrew, my boss, laughs.

"Well, how about you come home? There's a position as head photographer at Sydney Artistic Photographers." Andrew tells me. That's my dream job! Holy freakin wallaby! That's my dream job- but Liam.

"Um, how long do I have?" I ask.

"Until the first of October." Andrew replies. I thank him and hang up. This is my dream job but I really love Liam...

"Who was that Ind?" Liam asks me. I turn around and face my boyfriend. Do I tell him yet?

"Andrew. He's offered me a head photographers job. It's my dream job." I reply. Liam cheers and hugs me, kissing my lips quickly too.

"Why the long face Ind?" He asks a little confused.

"It's in Sydney."

Seven Days Later

{Liam's POV}

I burst into Harry and Jade's home, crying like a small child who broke their arm, except I have a broken heart.

Indie and I spoke about her moving for the past seven days, it's now the thirtieth of September and Indie has made her decision, the one way tickets to Australia have been booked. Indie's going home.

"Liam?" Jade notices me and rushes over, hugging me tightly. "Li what's wrong?" She asks and guides me to the couch. I sit there crying into Jade's shoulder and then I decide to man- up.

"Indie's moving back to Australia Jade." I wipe my eyes. "On the fourth of October." I add. Jade gasps and Harry drops his apple as he walks into the room.

"No! Lindie is perfection!" Harry whines. Lindie? Is that the best ship name he could come up with?

"No Harry." Jade says sternly. "You guys can work with long distance surely?" Jade asks. "Not meaning to bring back dead relationships but Dani and you managed." Jade hints.

"And look how that turned out." I reply. That wasn't a very nice time for me. We both had to do seperate things and go our own ways. I was heartbroken.

"No, no, no." Harry shakes his head and sits on the coffee table in front of me. "Look at Lou and Eleanor and Zayn and Pezz, they've worked out." Harry reminds me. The curly one has a point.

"I'll see..." I mumble and look at my friends.

Four Days Later.

{Liam's POV}

"Have a great time Indie! We'll see you soon hopefully." Jade hugs my leaving girlfriend. We went had had lunch together for Leigh- Anne's birthday and Indie's farewell and now we're in the airport and Indie's flight has been called.

Indie says goodbye to all the others until she gets to me. I walk her towards the gate and stand in front of her.

"This is the end isn't it." Indie says. Well at least we're on the same page, thinking the same thing.

"I think it is Indie." I reply and hug her and kiss her for the last time. "Travel safe, text me when you land and have the bestest fun. I expect to see lots of your work on Instagram." I instruct. Indie laughs and nods her head.

"Sure Li. Thank you for an amazing time." Indie replies, kisses my cheek and gets her ticket scanned. "Bye!" She waves and walks off as I wave a little, farewelling Indie from my life.

I turn to my friends and they all have hopeful faces. I shake my head and they all squish me into a big group hug.

{Indie's POV}

The sealtbelt sign comes on and I do up my seatbelt. I watch out the window as Sydney Harbour comes into view and the plane lands on the black tarmac at Sydney Airport.

I head into the terminal and see my best friend Sophie waving at me. I run over and hug her. We head down and collect my luggage and then walk through to the food court because I'm so hungry.

As we're eating our Subway I watch one of the televisions displaying advertisements. One for Sport Relief comes up and the picture is of One Direction and Little Mix. They're smiling happily and being themselves, cheerful, mental, silly and friendly people.

I suddenly have a big gush of pain rush through me as I see them all up there. The screen changes and a tear slides down my face. I guess the quote is true:

'Saying goodbye isn't the hard part, it's what we leave behind that's tough'
