Chapter 2 Sophie POV

I opened my eyes and looked around at the quiet street we had light-leaped to. The world looks so boring, especially after visiting Eternalia.

Madison turned to look at me as I was brought back to the present and realized that Fitz was nowhere to be found.

"He left a little bit ago after making sure we were safe." Madison said clearly knowing what I was thinking.

Me and Madison walked to our house. I couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of disappointment that Fitz had gone without saying goodbye.

As we entered the house and were met immediately with the chaos of our rambunctious family. Our mom was screaming into the phone while Our younger sister Amy was fighting with our dad . All of this stopped as soon as we entered the room.

Our mom looked up from phone and hung up angrily saying

"Oh they just arrived, don't worry they will face some consequences."

Amy excused herself saying she had homework to do which I know is a lie not the homework part the part that she is going to go she loves watching us get in trouble

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH STRESS YOU CAUSED US, WE ALMOST CALLED THE POLICE" My mom and dad screamed at the same time.

I looked at my feet and tugged out an eyelash, a nervous habit of mine.

Madison came up with a lie right on the spot based on the truth. "Sorry mom but we got scared. A random man came up to us with yesterday's newspaper." Our parents winced as she mentioned in the news article, they hadn't been very glad about it.

"Sophie got scared when he started asking questions, so we kinda ran away," Madison finished explaining hastily.

I looked at Madison and transmitted to her Seriously? you make it sound like I caused all of this.

Madison transmitted back I'll explain later

Our mom and dad relaxed but still looked concerned. "Oh honey, I'm just glad you two are safe." Our mom said as she embraced us before bustling off to make dinner.

After a meal of pasta with Amy, the picky eater of the family, complaining about the food , me and Madison scurried up to our room.

As I laid down on my bed and thought about today's wild events. I couldn't help but think about the possibility that our parents are not our parents. I mean they are not elfs and we are. How could two humans end up raising two elfs without knowing it?
