Ok, I would suggest making her at least around Itachi's age so she at least was in the academy with him. That why she knows him because if she is Sakura's age or younger than Sakura than she wouldn't know Itachi and probably won't ever. But don't make her too young or it will be rape. And we all don't want that. XD.
