15 - The Cat Kingdom

Izuku POV:

It was late afternoon when Shoto finally woke up.

I was still writing when he groaned and sat up. "Good Afternoon, Shoto." I say with a giggle.

"Afternoon?" He replies as he opens his eyes. "How long was I asleep?"

I check my watch. "About 17 hours." I say. "More or less." He presses a finger to his temple and sighs. I tilt my head. "Do you need the medicine?"

He shakes his head. "No more wooziness, please." He mutters.

Ochako comes up to us. "We're going to rest at a friend's place tonight, he lives just a few miles north of here." She explains.

"Anymore north and we would enter the Aizawa Kingdom." Shoto says.

Ochako smiles mischievously. "Exactly." She says. "Our friends are there."

I smile at Shoto. He looked confused.

"We're friends with King Shota and King Hizashi." I explain. "They let us rest at their palace sometimes during our adventures."

Shoto raises an eyebrow.

Katsuki and Eijiro come up to us and place a map down, Tsu and Tenya follow. "One of our friends is also a friend of the Prince's." Eijiro says. "We've met the Prince and Princess there before. They're nice."

"So are we leaving now?" Tsu asks. "It would be best to do so, since we would get there by sundown if we hurry."

I put my journal in my notebook and zip the bag up. I had already placed the blankets and pillows inside.

"Then let's go." I say. We all pack up and start heading north.

We did arrive at the gates to the palace a few minutes after sundown.

I say hello to the guards, they knew us already. And we enter the castle. Immediately, we're surrounded by so. many. cats.

A black cat walks over to Shoto and rubs against his legs. Shoto jumps slightly and looks down at it with confusion.

"Shoto, I think it likes you." Ochako says with a giggle.

Shoto frowns. "What is this." He questions. I stare at him.

"You don't know what cats are??!" Me, Ochako, and Eijiro all exclaim together.

Shoto frowns at us. "No." He deadpans. "My father never allowed me anywhere near most animals in case I had an allergy."

I reach down and pick the cat up, holding him in front of Shoto's face. It meows and Shoto blinks. "Well, isn't it cute?" I say. "And soft."

"Is that the missing Prince from the Todoroki Kingdom?" A new voice says. I turn with a smile and see King Hizashi walk into the hallway. "What kind of adventures have you been doing this time, Izuku?"

I grin. "The best ones." I reply.

The blonde king grins back and looks at Shoto. "Welcome to the Aizawa Kingdom, Prince Shoto." He greets, bowing for a moment. "Let's go to the throne room. I'll warn you, my husband is a little grumpy today."

"He's always grumpy." Ochako says, teasing.

Hizashi shrugs and directs us to the huge gold door. He opens it and reveals a large room with four thrones in the back.

Shota Aizawa was sitting on the largest throne, talking with a small girl who was sitting on the throne next to him.

"Eri!" Ochako says. Eri turns and grins at them before launching herself to Ochako.

The two girls hugged and I turned to King Aizawa.

"Do you need to rest here again?" He questions. "I have enough spare bedrooms in the east hall for you, but mind filling me in?"

I smile. "It's hard to explain." I say.

"Not really." Shoto interrupts and then goes on to explain everything that's happened.

After he is done, Aizawa rubs his temples and sighs. "Well, just know that if this all goes to plan, your eldest brother Touya will become king instead of you." He explains. "The only reason you're the heir right now is because of a small ruling your father made when you were born." He pauses. "Which, once King Enji is dead or behind bars, will disappear."

Shoto shrugs. "I never wanted to be a king anyway." He says. "It's fine if Touya-nii takes up the throne."

I almost smile at the term of endearment Shoto has for his brother.

Aizawa sighs again. "Hitoshi is here with a.." He pauses. "Friend." My eyebrows raise. Did Hitoshi have a girlfriend?

I nod and leave, my friends following me.

We reach the guest rooms. Four rooms lined up against the wall.

"Me and Katsuki will take a room." Eijiro says, pulling the blonde inside one.

"Me and Tsu can share one." Ochako says. "As long as you don't tell Himiko. She will tear you apart." Tsu nods.

"I'll take the one bedroom one." Tenya says, disappearing in his.

I purse my lips. That was quick. Shoto turns to me. "We can share if you'd like." He says. My cheeks flush red and I quickly avert my gaze so he wouldn't see.

"S-sure." I stutter. Shoto nods and enters the room. I sigh and follow him inside.

I place the bags in the corner. When I look up, my face flushes more. Shit. There was only one bed. I think as my face gets redder and redder.

Blinking my blush away, I turn to Shoto. "Do you want to take the medicine for sleeping?" I ask. "The wooziness won't affect you since you're already going to sleep."

After a moment of thinking, Shoto nods. I take out a pill and hand it to him. He grabs a water bottle and takes the medicine. He sighs and sits on the bed.

There was a few seconds of awkward silence. "I'm going to go get a piece of food or something." I say, walking to the door. I don't wait for a response before leaves the room and closing the door with a relieved sigh.

"My goddesses, Izuku." Ochako teasingly sighs from her doorway, and I glare at her. "Can't share a room with your crush?"

I glare at her some more before she giggles and disappears in her room. I walk into the kitchen and grab an apple.

"Hey Izuku." I jump, startled, before I recognize the voice as Hitoshi Aizawa, the King's son. I turn and give him a smile. He was resting his shoulder against the door frame. "Didn't realize you were going to be here tonight."

"Yup, just for tonight though." I say.

I hear a annoyed whine. "Toshi, come back to bed." A new person comes in. He stepped out next to Hitoshi and was rubbing his eyes. He had bright yellow hair and eyes. "It's lateeee."

Hitoshi smiles at him. "You can go back to bed, Denks." He said. "You don't need to be awake right now."

The new boy grumbles before turning away and leaves.

"Sorry about that, Denki is grumpy when someone wakes him about." Hitoshi says to me. He notices my confused expression. "That's my boyfriend, Denki Kaminari. He's been here for a while."

Ah. "I'm gonna go to bed." I say.

Hitoshi nods and I turn to the other doorway. I walk back to my room and enter it quietly. The lights were still on, but Shoto was passed out on the bed. He was laying on his side. I glance at him and walk over to the other side of the bed.

I sit down on the bed and sigh. Then I hear a shuffling sound and glance over at Shoto. He was facing me and had his eyes open. Or mostly open, he was barely awake.

"Sorry, did I wake you up?" I whisper.

He only blinks and yawns in reply.

"I always came here when I was younger." I say, looking away from Shoto. "When I got nightmares that the village burned down or it was overrun with zombies." I look back at Shoto. He blinked. Then he closed his eyes and sighed.

I smile softly. "Good night, Shoto." I whisper. After a moment's hesitation, I lean down and kiss Shoto's forehead gently.

Shoto hums as I pull away. My face starts flushing again and my eyes widen. Holy Sh*t.

I just kissed a prince.
