The Overlooked

We go to tell Derek that Jennifer is the Darach. He is in denial at first but he starts to put the pieces together. We know she would come see Derek so we go outside. We hear her try to tell him we would come and try to convince him that she was making human sacrifices. We step forward and demand to know what she's done with Sheriff Stilinski. Tears swell in Stiles' eyes and he can hardly form the words. I curl my fingers into his, letting him know that, no matter what, we will find his dad. Alive. She denies everything at first. Scott pulls out a small jar. "What's that?" she asks.

"Mistletoe," I answer.

"Deaton explained that the plant is a poison and a cure. You can use it and it can be used against you," Scott explains.

When he tosses the powder into the air, Jennifer reverts to the badly scarred and bald Darach appearance then back to her beautiful disguise. In rage, Derek grabs her by the throat. She pleads with him that they will need her help to save Cora and urges Derek to call Peter. He does so and Peter explains the black goo/mistletoe vomit situation over the phone. Derek, still holding Jennifer by the throat, lifts her off the ground. Scott and I urge caution. "Derek, I hate her but put her down."

Jennifer pleads with Stiles saying, "You'll never find your father if I die."

"Derek, stop," Stiles says.

He drops her to the floor and she suddenly becomes arrogant saying all of us need her. She stands up and looks at me. "And I can always use one more to my sacrifices. You were meant to be one of the warriors but I just didn't feel like going through all that trouble."

I stick close to Scott. I usually face my enemies but she's more capable than any. I go with Derek in his Toyota FJ Cruiser on the way to the hospital, while Scott and Stiles follow in the Jeep. I sat in the passenger seat. I notice there is a massive storm going on. That's never a good sign in this town.  "I'm not helping you because I have to. I'm helping because I want to. I could still run and you wouldn't have an easy time stopping me. I don't want Cora to die and I'm only doing what I have to do."

"Shut up," Derek replies.

"Derek, you need to know how connected we really are."

"Shut up," I say.

I sigh and put my head in my hands. I feel a warm hand on my back. I look up to see Derek trying to comfort me. "I'm really sorry, Scarlett."

"For what? Making me think you were dead? Ripping my heart out for that thing in the back?"

"Right here," Jennifer says. I growl and flick out my claws. "Never mind than."

"All of that. I'm sorry. Things just happened. I didn't mean to hurt you."

"Did you sleep with her?" I'm surprised how easy the question comes out. He hesitated but nods. I push his hand away. "While I was out, me and my brother were about to kill ourselves for your 'death', and you're sleeping with a woman who we now know is making human sacrifices. I love your smart decisions Derek."

He doesn't say anything after that. We pull up at the hospital. I pull my hood over my head and notice Stiles grab a baseball bat from his Jeep. "Why do you have a bat?" Scott yells over the rain.

"You two got claws, I've got a bat."

The lights inside the Emergency Room are flickering as Scott explains to our mother that they've come for Cora. My mom says that there are two ambulances coming, one in 10 minutes the other in 20 minutes, she says Cora needs to be in one of those ambulances when they load up in the basement parking garage under the hospital.

On the hospital's second floor, we find Cora's exam room empty. A trail of black goo droplets leads out into the hallway and through a set of closed double doors. There is a muffled sound of a fight and Peter is thrown through the doors and slides to a stop at Derek's feet. "We have a problem," he says.

At the other end of the corridor the merged twins roar. I see Cora, unconscious, lying on the floor. Me, Derek and Scott try to go after the Voltron Wolf. While the twins are distracted, Stiles rallies Peter to help him get to Cora and escape. Scott and I try to reason with the giant Alpha, calling on both Ethan and Aiden to stop. The creature speaks and says, "All we want is her." I raise an eyebrow. It looks to me. "And you."

It tries to grab me but we make a run for it. We run down the hallway and we rush through an operating room. Derek urges us to keep going but Stiles stops and raises his bat. When the twin creature enters he takes his shot bringing the bat down on its head. The bat doesn't just shatter, it turns to sawdust at the force of the impact. The creature is not phased and simply growls at Stiles, who has time to make his escape and join the rest of us. It grabs me by the shirt and starts pulling me back. "Scott!"

Scott leaps into the air and pulls down a florescent light fixture which strikes the creature in the face. I slip away again. We bring Cora into an operating room. We seem to have lost the twins. "We lost Jennifer," Stiles says.

Stiles begins to freak out a bit. Derek tells him to be quiet and Stiles goes off on the Alpha. "Me be quiet? Me? Are you telling me what to do now? When your psychotic mass-murdering girlfriend-the second one you've dated, by the way, has got my dad somewhere, tied up, waiting to be ritually sacrificed?"

Scott and I try to calm Stiles, reminding him that the Alphas are still out there. Stiles points out that the Alphas want Jennifer and, without her, both Cora and his dad are dead. "What do they want with me?" I ask. "She has his dad and he might get Jennifer."

"You're a werewolf with many gifts," Derek replies.

"Deucalion is dying to get his claws on you," Peter adds. "He wants you to be apart of his pack."

Cora is getting worse and while we're cast about for some way to help her, Jennifer returns and explains that they can't help Cora. "I promise to save Cora and tell you where Sheriff Stilinski is being held but only when I have escaped the Alphas."

Derek rushes forward ready to kill her, claiming she was trying to escape. I grab his arm. "Wait," I say firmly. "She dies, we'll never leave here the same way we came."

"I was trying to stay alive and I can't be blamed for that," she explains.

"If you want to convince them that you're one of the good guys then heal Cora."

Jennifer refuses again saying she won't do it until she is safe. Peter suggests torturing Jennifer to get her to help Cora. Derek says that method works for him but before they can take step forward, I hear my mom's voice come over the hospital's intercom. "Mr. Deucalion... excuse me, just Deucalion wants you to bring the woman calling herself Jennifer Blake to the ER reception area within 10 minutes."

When me and Scott look at her, she quickly says, "Deucalion won't hurt your mother. Deucalion wants perfection and wants to add a True Alpha to his ranks."

Peter gives the definition me and Scott already learned from Deaton. "The kind that doesn't have to steal his power from another. One that can rise by the force of his own will. Our little McCall twins ."

This is the first time Stiles is learning this about us. "Our status doesn't matter," Scott says.

"We still need to help Jennifer escape We get to the last ambulance in the basement garage and use that to get away," I say.

Reminded that the Alpha Twins won't let us just walk away, Scott and Derek plan to distract them. "I won't go anywhere without Derek," Jennifer says. I growl at her.

Peter steps up to help. We begin to look around the exam room for some sort of weapon to use against the giant Alpha. Stiles comes up with a defibrillator but is told by Derek to put it down since he doesn't know how to use it. Scott finds a 50ML syringe filled with some solution of Epinephrine. "No because it would only make Voltron Alpha stronger."

Peter sees this as a possible advantage. "We need to get Scar and Cora out of here," Derek says.

"What? Me? Why?"

"You are what they want the most," he says.

"No! I'm staying with Scott!"

"No, you're leaving with Cora."

"Who the hell are you to tell me what to do? It's actually your fault we're in this mess. You just had to become an Alpha for power. You were fine as you were."

"Well you were suppose to be apart of these sacrifices and that can still happen while Deucalion is targeting you. You need to get as far away from danger."

"Derek, you are danger! So leaving my brother and my best friend alone with you isn't the smartest thing to do."

"You can be killed!"

"If I die, I die fighting for what I believe in and who I love!"

"Hey!" Stiles exclaims. "Let her go. She can help Peter and Scott distract the twins long enough for us to get out."

I glare at Derek before stabbing Peter in this chest with the syringe. Peter steps into the hallway with the Epinephrine syringe sticking out of his chest, right over his heart. He is breathing hard and sweat is pouring down his face. He, Scott and I are able to distract the Alpha Twins long enough for Derek, Jennifer and Stiles to get Cora down to the basement.

We start off good but the shot of adrenaline eventually wears off and we are left supporting Peter as we continue to flee from the Alpha Twins. We take refuge in the laundry room and find a means of escape by sliding down the chute used to get dirty laundry from the upper floors to the laundry machines in the basement. Derek texts us to turn on the back-up generator. Peter realizes the others haven't yet escaped the hospital. Scott texts back: 'Don't move. On our way'. We go to the basement to Stiles and Cora. "We're going back for Derek and our mom," Scott tells Stiles.

"We have another problem because Kali has the keys to the ambulance and the twins are nearby," Stiles replies.

Scott tells him to sit tight and we return to the hospital. We're attacked by the merged twins. They easily best us, grabbing us by the throat and lifting up off the ground. The beast speaks, saying, "We're trying not to hurt you. We just want you and Cora."

"Maybe you should try harder," Scott responds.

I hear my mom shout, "Hey! I'd like to try something."

She then steps forward with a fully charged defibrillator and places both paddles onto the Voltron Alpha's chest. The electricity from the device surges through the beast, the twins demerge and fall to the floor. My mom reaches out to us, pulls us up to our feet and we run off down the corridor. We discuss Deucalion's motive for letting her go. "Deucalion doesn't do anything without a reason," Scott points out.

As we round a corner they run into Chris, Allison and Isaac. We try to come up with a plan to get them all out of the hospital and keep Jennifer Blake alive since she is the key to finding the Sheriff and saving Cora. Chris is unclear which teacher they're talking about. "She has brown hair and is kinda hot," Isaac supplies.

Allison catches sight of her reflection and realizes that she can pass for Ms. Blake. Scott texts the plan to Derek who then makes some noise by opening the elevator doors as Ms. Blake removes her shoes. Using video chat, Isaac and Allison coordinate the plan of attack. My mom manages to get the power back on. Me and Scott come across an unconscious Derek lying in the elevator. Jennifer has escaped using the hatch in the car's ceiling. We rush to the roof but our mom Is already gone. Deucalion is there. "I knew all along that parents were the target. If you two were with me, then I would have known that in time to save your mother."

Deucalion lays out a bargain, if we help Deucalion catch the Darach then Deucalion will help get our mom and Stiles' dad back. Stiles arrives to see me and Scott begin to walk toward the Alpha. "Don't do this," Stiles pleas. "Don't go with him."

"We don't know what else to do," Scott replies softly.

"No, there's g... There's got to be something else, okay? We always...we always have a plan B."

"Not this time, Stiles," I reply.

He sees the tears in my eyes so he looks to Scott. "Scott." He looks to me. "Scarlett."

"We're gonna find your dad. We promise."
