"So, explain to me exactly what happened."

I'm surrounded by the sheriff, Scott, Stiles, my mom, Lydia and Liam. I got into an accident in my Jeep and the Dread Doctors got to me. I woke up in their lair and they explained everything to me. What they did to me the night I was bitten and the reason. Everything is so clear to me now. I am now going to help them make chimeras and make sure they are successful like me. I'm something great and important. This is what I was meant to do.

The only problem is I have my brother and friends standing in my way. The Dread Doctors told me that they are nothing but distractions and obstacles I can easily overcome. Now that I'm back home, I have to come up with some crazy story of how I'm alive and what happened during the two days I was missing. "Well, after crashing my Jeep, I could've sworn I was dead. Just like the first time I died, I saw someone and talked like it was my imagination."

"Who... Who did you see?" Stiles asks.

"Allison. I saw Aiden before. When I woke up, I was in some...cabin and I was out for a good day. After regaining my strength, I had to find any and every way to get here."

"Who put you in that cabin?" the sheriff asks.

"I don't know. When I woke up, no one was there and I couldn't catch a scent of anyone being there except me. No car was outside and no traces of one being there or pulling off. It was like I put myself there."

My mom wraps her arms around me. "I'm just glad you're back and safe."

I see Stiles, Liam and Lydia look at Scott for confirmation I'm telling the truth. "She's telling the truth," Scott whispers to them.

I hold my mom and keep an eye on him at the same time. He's the number one person I need to watch out for. He's the main one who can prevent me from completing my work. Late that night, I go after the new chimera, Hayden. Her car is stopped on the side of the road and the Dread Doctors are looking to take her to their lair. They want to make finalization on her to really put the experiment into effect. I watch her from in the shadows, waiting for the right moment. I growl and wolf out silently.

I keep my claws deep in the round and my fangs ready. As soon as I see the Dread Doctors approach, I start moving in. I see Hayden try to start her car and try getting out of it. We were so close until Liam saves her. I sigh and retreat. I don't wait to hear what the Dread Doctors have to say. I hurry home and sneak through the window.

Scott already thinks I'm sleeping. I can't risk being suspected. I throw myself in bed and cover myself with my blankets. I hear some commotion going on downstairs with Scott and Stiles. I hear Stiles trying to explain about a dead chimera he claims to have found dead on the hospital roof. I wipe sweat and dirt from my face before going down the stairs. "Hey, Scarlett. I thought Melissa gave you your meds," Stiles says.

"She did but they are not strong enough to keep me down." The actual truth is that I never swallowed my pills. My pills are more than strong enough to make me fall asleep and keep me there. "What's going? A new chimera?"

They all exchange worried looks. "How did you know?" Scott asks.

I tap my ears. "I heard your conversation."

"Uh..." Scott stutters.

I huff and cross my arms. Scott is, again, trying to keep things from me. "Scott, we agreed, to be honest with each. Either you tell me, or I touch Stiles' head to figure it out for myself."

Stiles backs up a little. We all go to the animal clinic to where Theo is with the body. "You two know him?" Theo asks.

I look at the boy's bloody face. I've seen him at school and the Dread Doctors told me about him. "Josh," Scott replies.

"He was a junior," I add.

I notice Theo and Stiles exchange a look, a suspicious one. Like they have something to hide. Stiles hurries to cover the body. Scott automatically assumes that one of the Dread Doctors killed Josh. Theo agrees but he doesn't sound very convincing to me. "What should we do with his body?" Stiles asks. "We can't just set the alarm and leave. That's how Tracy disappeared. Someone's gotta stay here with him."

I look to Theo and we exchange looks. I give him a slight nod and he gives one in return. "I'll do it," Theo says. "It's not like I had a big Saturday night planned."

Scott phone buzzes. It's Liam. A worried look comes across Scott's face. "What is it?" Stiles asks.

Just based on his tone, he's getting a little tired of bad news. "A new one. A new chimera."

Now, I definitely look at Theo. We have a lot to discuss once Stiles and Scott leaves. Before he walks out, Scott turns to me. "Hey, you're not coming?"

I lean against one of the counters and shake my head. "I'll stay here with Theo. If anything happens, he'll need someone to fight by his side. I'll be fine, Scott. Go check out the new chimera and just call me."

He nods and leaves behind Stiles. Once the door closes, I growl and bare my fangs at Theo. "What did I do?"

"What the hell happened on that roof?"

He scratches the back of his neck. "They knew he was a failure so I just got him out the way."

"And Stiles saw you?"

"He was going to attack him. I used that as an excuse."

I cross my arms. "You are so stupid."

"Come on, I'd rather be the one killing them than your stupid friends."

"They were your friends at one time, too, remember?"

"So they think. Soon, we'll have more experiments like you. Successful and powerful and useful."

"How many more teens will it take for them to realize there are no more like me. Tracy, Lucas, Donovan, this kid. Why can't they just be satisfied with one successful experiment? Me."

He laughs and slowly crosses the room. "They want more than just you. Having at least five like you would be enough to do what they want in this town."

I narrow my eyes and watch him carefully. "What's that?"

He stops at an inch away from me. "They haven't told me yet but I think it has to do with changing the supernatural world. But, since we're now working together, we should work on getting a little closer."

As soon as he steps closer, I grab him by the throat and hold him at a distance. "Just because we are working together with them, doesn't mean I have to hate you any less."

"Come on, you don't hate me. You just want to deny any feelings you have."

I push him away and walk to the other side of the room. We stay awake and watch the body. Monday morning, I'm about to go home when I hear a ticking. We walk out in the hallway and one of the doctors are waiting. "Checking up on us?" Theo asks.

"Quick question: Don't you want to know who's taking your bodies? They keep disappearing from the morgue and Scott believes it's you guys."

The doctor's only reply is, "Inconsequential."

"Inconse- What the hell does that even mean?" Theo asks, turning to me.

"That they could care less."

"Don't you wanna know who's running off with your...failed science experiments?"

I narrow my eyes. "Do you already know who it is?" It doesn't answer. "I thought you were supposed to keep us in the loop on everything."

"Inconsequential."

I hear a car pull up. It's Stiles. When me and Theo turn away and turn back, the doctor is gone. I leave out the front before Stiles comes through the back. I sit in my Jeep and read the text messages from Scott. For being missing, I got a discount on getting my Jeep repaired, including a fresh coat of paint. Scott plans on using Hayden as bait so he can trap one of the Dread Doctors. He still believes they are the ones taking the bodies.

I can't think of a way to lie and try to guide him off this track. He goes down this road, he could end up really hurt. I might be being someone else in front of while stabbing him in the back on the side but he is still my brother. If I can stop him from getting killed, I will. I drive home to shower and check my emails.

Once I eat something, I grab my keys and drive to the animal clinic and pull up next to Stiles in his Jeep with Theo. I get out my Jeep and get into his. Theo and him are talking about Donovan. "He was not worth the guilt you're feeling," Theo says.

I lean in between the seats. "Stiles, if me or Scott gave up on you after you killed him, we wouldn't be True Alphas."

"Maybe that's that's the definition of one. Someone who doesn't put up with murder?"

Theo shakes his head. "It sounds like you guys need to look up 'justifiable homicide'."

"Did you seriously just say that to the son and daughter of a cop?"

I find myself smiling a bit. Having law enforcement parents has its perks, especially when it comes down to people like me and Stiles. "A werewolf's eyes are supposed to change when you take an innocent life," Theo explains. He makes his eyes glow to prove his point. "These look blue to you? It was self-defense for me and for you."

"Or it's just maybe you don't feel all that bad about it," Stiles counters.

Stiles says that the eye color only changes when you actually feel guilty. I lean back in the seat and huff. Stiles always makes things bigger than they actually are. "Stiles, you know that is not the case."

"So it's up to interpretation?" Theo asks.

"Yeah," Stiles casually replies.

"Okay, here's my interpretation of what happened with you and Donovan: not guilty." They sit in silent for a couple seconds before Theo asks, "Do you feel bad about it? Not now, I mean right then when it happened. What were you thinking the moment he was dead and there was no saving him."

I see Stiles going over things in his head. He looks right at his steering wheel. "One word: good."

Theo seems pleased with the answer. I'm not. The look that crosses his face reminds me of when he was possessed but the nogitsune. I don't like it and I hope history isn't repeating itself. While they're sitting in silence, I step out and take a short walk. On my way back, I run into a Dread Doctor. "What... I thought you guys were at the school getting Hayden."

"It is done."

"What's done? You have Hayden?" When it doesn't answer, I slowly nod. "Josh is gone. Where were Theo and Stiles?"

He steps out my way. I immediately get worried and run back the parking lot. I see Stiles' Jeep turned over, a fire starting and Stiles is unconscious inside. When I go to help him, I'm grabbed by the Dread Doctor and pulled away. "No, stop! He needs my help!" It keeps pulling me back and it is much stronger than me. I do what I know best to do. I scream at the top of my lungs, "Stiles!"

My voice echoes across the lot and he snaps awake then tries to get himself out. I sigh in relief as I'm dragged away. Everything after that is a bit of a blur. When I wake up, I'm in my room and in my bed. Before I can try to analyze anything going on or what happened, Scott comes in, head hung and tired."Scott, what... What happened? Where's Hayden?"

"They got her and they have Liam, too."

"Liam's missing?"

When he nods his head, something goes off in my head. I feel a bit different again. This time it's the opposite of how the Dread Doctors want me to feel. I feel guilty. Liam is missing and I can't help but think it's my fault. Now I have to choose between my creators and my humanity.
