Stiles and I try to convince Sheriff Stilinski that Matt, not Mr. Harris, is the real killer. "Matt somehow borrowed the teacher's car to lay suspicion on him when his former students turned up dead," I explain.

The sheriff is skeptical but we manage to get him to sneak back into the Sheriff's Department to review the evidence. "Trust me, they'll let you in," Stiles assures his father.

"Trust you?"

"Trust...Scarlett."

The sheriff looks my way and I just shrug. "I mean, you don't have much of a choice here."

At the station, we review security footage from the night Jessica Bartlet was killed. Matt is seen walking down the hall towards her room. He is also seen talking to my mother. "That's him!" Stiles exclaims. "That's Matt!"

The sheriff looks at us and raises an eyebrow. "All I see is the back of someone's head."

"Matt's head, yeah. I sit behind him in history. He's got a very distinct cranium, it's weird," Stiles replies.

"Okay, say that is him, why would this kid want most of the 2006 swim team and its coach dead?"

"Well, the swim team does suck," I reply.

"They haven't won in like six years," Stiles adds. His father give us both a look. "Okay, we don't really have a motive yet."

I call my mom and she remembers talking to Matt because he was tracking mud all over the halls. "We have footprint evidence at the scene of the trailer murders and a credit card receipt for an oil change the night the mechanic was killed," the sheriff says.

"So we can place him at the scene of four murders including the rave."

"All right, dad, if one's an incident, two's a coincidence, and three's a pattern, what's four?"

"Four's enough for a warrant," the sheriff replies.

"Or, just a path to a pure massacre," I point out.

The sheriff asks me to call my mom back to come down to the station to give a statement in hopes of getting an arrest warrant for Matt. Stiles and I head to the front of the office only to find the officer, Noree Victoria, that was on duty. She's dead, bloody and slashed. I turn to find Matt pointing the officer's service revolver at Stiles' head. "Matt? What the hell are you doing?"

"Well, by process of elimination, he's about to hold us hostage," Stiles comments. Matt presses the gun into his head. "Okay, I'll shut up."

"Be careful, Matt," I growl. "You hurt Stiles, you lose all your limbs."

"Is that right?" he teases. "Which one of us has a loaded gun and a kanima?"

"Which one of us has claws and heightened abilities?"

"Do you think you can heal from a bullet to the head?"

"I can get to you before you pull the trigger."

"I could pull the trigger now."

He's got me there. Matt leads me and Stiles, at gunpoint back to the sheriff. The sheriff tries to talk Matt down like he's been trained to do. "Matt? It's Matt, right? Matt, whatever's going on, I guarantee you there's a solution that doesn't involve a gun."

"You know, it's funny you say that, because I don't think you're aware of just how right you are."

"I know you don't want to hurt people..."

"Well, if he didn't, we wouldn't be here," I mumble.

In retaliation, Matt pushes me to the ground and presses his boot on my back, pressing until I can barely breath. "Actually, I want to hurt a lot of people. You three aren't on my list, but I could be persuaded," Matt replies, lifting his boot.

Stiles helps me to my feet as Matt handcuffs the sheriff in one of the jail cells and leads us down the hall. I see three sheriff's deputies dead and bloody on the floor. Matt says, "I just have to think about killing and Jackson does it for me."

I see the kanima's arm reach and drags one of the bodies away. "You don't have to do this, Matt. You're not ready for what else the supernatural holds."

He just laughs. "Well, sucks because I was starting to really like it."

He forces me to shred the physical evidence and destroy the digital evidence in the murder investigation. Matt uses rope to tie my feet and ties my wrists. He hangs my wrists from one of the coat hooks on the wall, using tape to secure me. Since the coat rack is high up and I'm not that tall, my feet barely touch the floor. He gives me a creepy smile before he seals my mouth with duct tape. "You know, Scarlett, I always had a crush on you. Almost every guy at school wanted but you were something special to me. Out of all people, you still choose Derek Hale. Why?"

Stiles is standing by the door. He looks scared to move or say anything at the moment. But he does say, "This is like a scene straight of a movie."

I roll my eyes. Typical Stiles. Before I say anything in any form of way, I hear a car pull up. I think it's my mom but it turns out to be Scott and Derek. "Scarlett?" Scott calls. "Stiles?"

"Scarlett!" I hear Derek calling again.

I yell through the tape as loud as I can. Derek and Scott walk in. Scott sees me but, when he tries to run toward me, Matt points the gun at him. Derek glares at Matt then at me. "This is the one controlling him? This kid?"

"Well, Derek, not everyone is lucky to be a big, bad werewolf."

He points the gun at Derek and he locks in a bullet. I start screaming through the tape, pulling on my restraints. Matt looks at me and rubs his temple. "Untie her, Derek."

When he goes toward me, he falls to the floor, paralyzed. I scream even louder through the tape. To shut me up, Matt shoots by my feet. "The next one will go in your knee cap. I'm not a scientist but that sounds pretty painful."

"That's very convincing," Stiles says.

"Werewolves, hunters, kanimas. It's like a frickin' Halloween party every full moon. Except for you Stiles. What do you turn into?" Matt asks.

Without missing a beat, Stiles replies, "An abominable snowman but it's more of a winter thing. You know, seasonal."

Matt apparently doesn't appreciate the humor and has Jackson paralyze Stiles. He falls to the floor on top of Derek muttering 'bitch' on the way down. Derek grunts and grits his teeth. "Get him off me," Derek says through his teeth.

"I don't know, Derek. I think you two makes a pretty good pair," Matt jokes.

I raise an eyebrow. Well, he's not wrong. Another car arrives, this time it's my mom. Matt tells Scott to follow his orders then, to drive home his point, he rolls Stiles off Derek and applies a boot to his chest making it impossible for him to breath. I begin to cry from watching this and not being able to stop it.

My mom enters to see Matt pointing a gun at us. Then, for no apparent reason, he shoots Scott just below the right side of his rib cage and shoots me on my left side rib cage. I scream, still muffled by the tape, struggling on the hook. Matt then menaces my mom with the gun as she freaks out about our injuries. Matt locks her in a jail cell. Still not being able to move, I have to watch my brother on the ground and not even be able to tend to my own wound. Matt comes back and squats in front of Scott while still facing toward me. "You know, I...I feel sorry for you, McCall twins, 'cause right now, you're thinkin', 'How am I gonna explain this when it heals?'. And the sad part is, you don't even realize how incredible it is that you actually are healing. 'Cause you know what happens to everyone else when they get shot? They die."

"Why are you doing this?" Scott asks.

"You see, McCall twins, I'm really after the bestiary. I'm trying to figure out all I can about the kanima because..."

He pulls up his shirt and we see, he is beginning to transform into a creature himself. I overhear Derek explaining to Stiles about Matt. "The bestiary won't help him. He can't break the rules without the universe trying to balance it out somehow."

They speculate that Matt broke the rules when he forced Jackson to kill people that didn't deserve it and when he killed Jessica himself. I see Derek begin to sink his claws into his leg, probably in hopes of triggering his werewolf healing and forcing the kanima toxin out of his system faster.

Matt starts to explain how he 'died'. "Coach Lahey was having a party at his home to celebrate the swim team's win at the 2006 State Championship. The coach had apparently allowed the kids to drink and they had become quite rowdy. I was only 10 years old. I was visiting Isaac to trade for a Spiderman or Batman comic book. I somehow ended up surrounded by the drunk and rowdy teens. Sean, Bennett and Jessica were all there. Then Camden Lahey grabs me and throws me into the pool where I drown while the teens just stand around and do nothing. I'm resuscitated by Coach Lahey who warns me not to tell anyone. He told me it was my fault anyway because I don't know how to swim. I kept the incident to myself. I went on to suffer flashbacks that would trigger night terrors and shortness of breath. My parents mistook these incidents for asthma and bought me an inhaler."

"How did you end up the Kanima Master?" Scott finally asks.

"Glad you asked. At Kate Argent's funeral, I snapped a picture of Coach Lahey and wished him dead. That night the kanima killed Coach Lahey. It was like something out of Greek mythology. Like the Furies coming down to punish Orestes! You two have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?

I raise an eyebrow and look at Scott, who asks, "Was he the guy who stabbed out his eyes?"

"That's Oedipus, you dumbass!"

He goes on to explain that the furies are deities of vengeance with tears of blood and snakes for hair that punished criminals who had escaped justice. Matt says Jackson is his fury. The following night he witnesses Jackson's transformation and connects with the kanima. He says he instantly understood that Jackson had killed the Coach for him. So he went to the garage and snapped a picture of Tucker and a few hours later the kanima killed him too. Matt says all he had to do was snap pictures of his victims and the kanima would kill them.

I glance at Derek who still hasn't been able to trigger his healing process. Suddenly, the lights go out. Emergency lighting flashes on and a siren starts to bleat. I take that time to break free and drop from the coat rack. Outside, headlights sweep over the building and hunters with automatic weapons begin firing through the windows. Me, Matt and Scott dive under desks. The hunters then toss in a smoke grenade. Me and Scott find our feet and run past the partly transformed Jackson.

Scott manages to grab Stiles and run out. I throw Derek's arm over my shoulder while clenching my bloody side and I follow behind my brother. Once Stiles and Derek are safe, Scott and I rejoin the fray, encountering Allison in the hall. She threatens us with her crossbow while demanding Derek. I use my sleeve to wipe some dry blood from my forehead. "Allison, what is wrong with you?" I ask.

From the look in her eye, I can answer my own question. She exits warning him to stay out of her way. I look at Scott and he just shrugs. We run to where we hear Derek and the kanima. We come in to see Derek on the ground and the creature trying to reach for our mom. Me and Scott wolf out. We grab it and pull it back. Scott grabs me by my wrist and swing me around. I kick the kanima in it's face and send it flying back. It charges for me again. I grab it's arm before it tries to cut me and we struggle until he has me pinned to the ground. He hisses in my face. I only howl in return.

To my surprise, it falls back and covers it's ears. Derek recovers and goes for the creature again. I freeze and look at Scott. We turn to our mom, who starts to back away slowly, crying. Scott and I run out. We run into Gerard in the hall. Scott says, "It wasn't supposed to happen like this."

"We did everything you asked, joining the pack and spying on Derek, supplying information on Jackson and Matt's role in the crimes," I add.

Gerard says, "Leave Matt to me."

He sends me and Scott to help our friends and deal with our mother. Gerard drops his silver pill case and Scott retrieves it. We then leave to find Stiles.
