Too Many People (age 5)

Rainbow had started to develop an anxiety whenever there was loads of people around her, so one day at school she and her friends were sent into the year above class for an afternoon, because they were going to moving up to full time school soon so they needed to see what it was like. There were 15 kids in rainbows class and 20 in the other one, so that was a lot of people. Mr Storm who was the year 1 teacher was waiting at the door to welcome the lower year into his classroom.

Mr storm: right class today we are being joined by  reception ( the year group between nursery and year 1) class as they will be moving up to main school in September, so let's please be nice to them please.

Year 1 class: yes mr storm!

Mr storm: *to the reception class* ok kids, why don't you go and find a seat and then I'll start my lesson and you'll see what happens in here. They went and sat down and listened to mr storm teach his class and chat about what it'll be like when he teachers them. Rainbow wasn't really paying attention to what was going on, instead she was looking around the room and seeing how there's was loads of people all talking, probably about her hair colour because it was so unique. She started to become scared and someone got the attention of mr storm.

Mr storm: *kneels down at the side of rainbow* sweetie what's wrong?

Rainbow: *doesn't answer*

Mr storm: can you tell me your name at least?

Pinkie: it's rainbow dash! But we all call her rainbow.

Year 1 kid: *under his breath* of course she's called "rainbow"

Rest of year group: *sniggers*

Mr storm: alright that's enough! Rainbow what's wrong?

Rainbow didn't answer him, she just kept panicking.

Mr storm: sweetheart I want to help, but I can't if you don't tell me what's wrong.  How about we go and see miss feather boa?

Rainbow: *nods*

Mr storm: ok come on then.

He took rainbow to miss feather boa who was sat in her office doing some work.

Mr storm: miss feather boa I have rainbow here who seems to be a little upset, and she can't tell me why I was wondering for you had any idea.

Miss feather boa: oh yes come here rainbow. *lifts rainbow on to her lap and just holds her*

She knew that rainbow had started to develop a little anxiety, but had forgotten to tell mr storm about it. So she told him that rainbow had started to struggle in crowds that had a lot of people, and that she was probably a little overwhelmed by everything.

Mr storm: *sympathetically* oh the poor thing, it must be so scary for her.

Miss feather boa: yeah I think it is, if it's ok with you I think I'll just keep her with me.

Mr storm: yeah that's fine. I'll see you in my class in September Rainbow.

Rainbow: *shyly* bye.

Rainbow was now left alone with miss feather boa who asked her if she wanted to stay in school or go home. Rainbow chose to go home as the day had worn her out.

*back home*

Rainbow: *tiredly* why do I get scared around people mummy?

Windy whistles: some people just do baby, but it's nothing to feel embarrassed or ashamed about. Now what would you like for dinner?

Rainbow: pizza!

Windy whistles: ok I'll go and do it.

They had dinner and rainbow went up to her room to play, for the time being not having to worry about there being too many people.

A/N: this story is NOT my favourite, but I'm sure you guys will like it.
