Windy looked at the clock and saw that it was time to wake rainbow up for nursery, she headed to rainbows bedroom so that she could get her up.

Windy whistles: *softly* dashie time to wake up.

Rainbow: *whimpering* mummy.

Windy went over to rainbows bed and saw that rainbow seemed to sweating but shivering at the same time. Windy placed her hand on rainbows forehead, and looked at her daughter with concerned eyes.

Windy whistles: *concerned* oh baby you feel really hot.

Rainbow: *shivering and whimpering* I'm cold mummy.

Windy whistles: *moving the hair out of rainbows face* I think you have a fever baby, come lets go downstairs and I'll take your temperature.

Rainbow grabbed tank and her blankie and then windy picked her up, and carried her downstairs. Once they'd gotten downtown windy places rainbow on the sofa and covered her with the blanket. Then she grabbed the thermometer and took rainbows temperature.

Windy whistles: *looks at thermometer* 39 degrees Celsius. No nursery for you today dashie.

She then called the school to let them know that rainbow wouldn't be going in, after she'd done that she decided to go and sit with rainbow on the sofa. Rainbow had the blanket pulled up to her neck but windy could see how much she was sweating, so she pulled the blanket down to just above rainbows waist.

Rainbow: *whimpering* mummy I'm cold.

Windy whistles: *strokes rainbows hair* I know sweetie but because you've got a temperature, you're going to be really hot as well, so just keep the blanket on half your body.

Rainbow started crying so windy lifted her on to her lap and ,started rocking her in order to try and soothe her.

Windy whistles: *rocks rainbow gently* shhhhh baby I know it's not nice being poorly, do you feel sick?

Rainbow: *sniffles and shakes her head*

Windy whistles: ok I know you won't want any to eat, but please have a drink if this juice.

Windy handed rainbow the juice bottle and she had a drink of the juice, and then handed her mum the bottle back.

Windy whistles: good girl *kisses rainbows forehead* Would you like to watch some tv?

Rainbow: *nods and snuggles up to windy*

Windy whistles: ok sweetheart.

She turned on some cartoons and they sat watching for around half an hour until rainbow fell asleep.

*after rainbow wakes up*

Rainbow slept for around 3 hours and then woke up. Windy checked her temperature again and saw that it gone down a little bit.

Windy whistles: 37 degrees Celsius. It's gone down a little bit dashie, are you feeling any better?

Rainbow: *tiredly* a little bit mummy.

Windy whistles: *kisses rainbows forehead* ok baby would you like something to eat?

Rainbow: *nods*

Windy whistles: ok I'll just get you some toast for now.

She made rainbow the toast and her self some soup, they had their dinner and then windy decided to get rainbow, in the bath and ready for bed.

*after rainbows bath*

After rainbow had, had her bath windy helped her put some pyjamas on, and then let her come into her bedroom as bow was away with friends for the night.

Windy whistles: *notices rainbow was starting to fall asleep* just take this medicine sweetie and then you can sleep.

Rainbow took the medicine and then laid back down, and Windy stroked her forehead, as she fell asleep. A couple of days later rainbows temperature was back to normal and she felt much better.
