Overworked (age 14)

Rainbow had been doing a lot of work recently she'd been at her job at the sports shop, she'd been helping applejack down the farm and she and her friends had managed to book themselves a few gigs with their band. Rainbow had taken on these extra jobs because her father had been made redundant, for the time being and there wasn't as much income. Rainbow had only just walked in the door from her sports job and she was about to go the farm to help for 8 hours and then they had a show, she did also still have to go the school for 5 days.

Rainbow: *quickly grabs a drink and then makes her way out* I'll be home late tonight guys we've got a show after I've helped aj on the farm.

Windy whistles: *concerned* rainbow do you not you might be taking on too much work?

Rainbow: don't worry mum I'll be ok, I'll see you in after school, I'm going to crash at applejacks tonight.

*at the farm*

Rainbow was helping applejack move some boxes around in the barn she was absolutely exhausted, but she thought nothing of it.

Aj: *puts her hand on rainbows shoulder* dash?

Rainbow: *turns and looks at her* hmm?

Aj: are you ok? you seem tired.

Rainbow: *laughs nervously* don't worry about me aj I'm fine, anyway I think it's time to head to the gig?

Aj: it is yeah come on let's go.

*at the gig*

The girls were at someones house playing a gig for a garden party they'd played a few songs and things seemed to be going ok. Applejack had been keeping an eye on rainbow after seeing how tired she looked on the farm.

Rainbow: *into her microphone* thank you so much for having us tonight, this is going to be our last song we hope you enjoy it.

She started to play her guitar and the other girls began to play their instruments, they kept playing but noticed that when rainbow should've started singing she didn't. Applejack was beginning to get more worried by the second and then something unexpected happened. Rainbow suddenly staggered as if she was about to faint, luckily aj caught her and she didn't lose consciousness. She didn't even realise when they left the party and went back to rainbows house.

Aj: *concerned* rainbow are you alright?

Rainbow: *confused and not quite with it* huh? Yeah I'm fine.

Twilight: no you're not fine dash you nearly passed out.

Rainbow: but I feel fine.

Bow and Windy then came in and rainbow got confused again.

Rainbow: mum? Dad? What are you doing here?

Bow hothoof: we live here dashie.

Rainbow: *rubs her eyes* wait so I'm at home? What about the gig and I was supposed to be staying at the farm tonight.

Aj: the gig is over rainbow and the reason you nearly fainted was from exhaustion, so we decided to just bring you home.

Rainbow: but I don't know why I'm so tired.

Windy whistles: *kneels next to rainbow and starts stroking her hair* baby I think it's because you're overworked, you've been doing an awful lot of work recently and you've had school. There's been no rest we never see you, you come in from one place and then head straight back out.

Sunset: I think maybe we should go and allow rainbow to get some rest.

The other girls nodded in agreement and they all made their way home.Once they'd left rainbow was left alone with her parents as Scootaloo was at a sleepover. She curled up on her bed as her mother continued to run her hands through her hair.

Windy whistles: *gently* rainbow sweetie why did you take on so much work?

Rainbow: *sighs* because dads been made redundant and I thought you would need the help.

Bow hothoof: I might have been made redundant kiddo but it's my job to look after you, not the other way round ok?

Rainbow: *tiredly* ok.

Windy whistles: *gently strokes rainbows hair* shh go to sleep.

Rainbow soon fell asleep and bow and Windy left her to rest. They both couldn't believe their baby had put her health at risk to help them.

Windy whistles: I can't believe she did that to help us.

Bow hothoof: * guilty* I know I'm going to have to work harder on getting a new job, rainbow shouldn't have been put in this position it's not fair.

Windy whistles: you'll find a new job honey, we need to keep rainbow off school and work for a few days though to let her rest.

They were both very proud of their daughter for wanting to help, but rainbows healthy and safety was the most important thing to them.
