Rainbow had banged her foot whilst running around the house so windy was taking her to the hospital to get it checked out. They we're in the car and windy had wrapped some ice in a t-towel, which rainbow was holding against her foot and sobbing.

Rainbow: *crying* mummy it hurts!

Windy whistles: shhh I know it does sweetie, this is why I don't like you running in the house, don't worry we'll be at the hospital soon.

They arrived at the hospital and Windy carried rainbow inside, and then went to the waiting area. Once they we're inside Windy signed rainbow in and then filled at a medical form.

Windy saw rainbows name come up on the screen and took her into the doctors office.

*with the doctor*

Doctor Johnson: so what's happened then?

Windy whistles: rainbow was running in the house and she's banged her foot, it's quite badly bruised so thought I'd bring her in.

Doctor Johnson: ok. Can I have a look rainbow?

Rainbow: *whimpers and shakes her head*

Doctor Johnson: please I'll be extra gentle.

Rainbow: *starting to cry again* NO! Mummy!

Windy whistles: *picks rainbow up and rubs her back* shhh baby the doctor needs to look at your foot to see what's wrong with it, how about when he's done we get ice cream? Would you like that?

Rainbow: *sniffles* o-ok mummy.

Windy whistles: *kisses rainbows forehead* good girl.

Doctor Johnson: *looks at rainbows foot and has a feel of it* ok so I don't think it's broken, but I'd like to do an x-ray if that ok?

Windy whistles: yeah it's ok. Dashie sweetie you need to have an x-ray on your foot.

Rainbow: *getting nervous* will it hurt mummy?

Windy whistles: no baby but you will need to try and sit still.

*in the x-ray room*

This was the first time that rainbow had ever had an x-ray and windy wasn't sure how she's react. Even though x-ray are very quick, you have to sit still for them and rainbow is a very fidgety child.

Nurse: ok sweetheart I just need you to keep your foot really still for me ok?

Rainbow: can mummy stay?

Nurse: *sympathetically* I'm so sorry darling, but she's not allowed to stay here, but she'll be right outside and it'll be over really quickly.

Rainbow: *makes grabby hands at windy* mummy.

Windy whistles: it's alright baby, just remember we have ice cream later.

Rainbow: o-ok.

The nurse did the x-ray and rainbow actually managed to sit still, all they had to do now was wait for the results.

*getting the results*

Doctor Johnson: ok so rainbows foot isn't broken but it is badly bruised, so I'm going to put a bandage on and just keep that on for a week.

Windy whistles: ok thank you doctor.

He applied the bandage to rainbows foot and then it was time for her windy to leave.

*on the way home*

Windy whistles: you did really well today sweetie.

Rainbow: ok mummy. *hopeful* we have ice cream now?!

Windy whistles: *chuckles* yes baby we'll get ice cream now.

Windy took rainbow the parlour and they got ice cream as promised.
