A/N: not to be confused with the very first chapter, that one was her first day of nursery where she only went for half of the day. This is about full time primary school.

Today was rainbows very first day of big school and she was really excited about it, unlike on her first day of nursery where she didn't want her mummy to leave her. Rainbow was getting her back pack ready, which didn't have a lot of stuff it was pretty much just her lunch box. But she did a pencil case with some colourful crayons in it.

Windy whistles: you ready to go dashie?

Rainbow: yes mummy!

Bow hothoof: you happier about school this time rainbow.

Rainbow: *chuckles* silly daddy, it's because I have friends now.

Bow hothoof: *chuckles back at her* you're right daddy is silly. But have a great day!

He kissed rainbows forehead and then headed off to work as windy and rainbow headed off to school. Once they'd gotten their rainbow saw her friends and immediately darted off to them after giving windy a quick hug and saying goodbye. Windy was a bit sad about not having a longer cuddle, but she was really proud of confident rainbow had become.

*in the classroom*

Mr Storm: hello everyone and welcome to your first day in reception class, I know we're going to have an amazing year. The first thing I would like to do is get to know each and everyone of you, so I'm going to pass around Elmer the elephant (let me know if you know who Elmer is) and when it's your turn to hold him I'd like you to tell us something about yourself, it can be anything you'd like. let's start.

The class took it in turns holding Elmer and telling mr storm things about themselves. Eventually it was rainbows turn, she got the elephant and was much more confident in front of mr storm unlike the last time she saw him (read "too many people" for reference) she began to tell him all about her parents, he little sister, he favourite book, favourite colour, favourite games and etc. Once the whole class had done the icebreaker, mr storm put them into groups. These groups were coloured tables and the colour you got depended on your a ability in a subject e.g rainbow was on the blue table for Numeracy because she struggled with it quite a bit.

Once they'd been told which coloured table they would be on for each subject it was time to do some work.

Mr storm: ok class that was a very good morning and now it's time for lunch. Please line up at the door so we can walk sensibly to the dining room.

He took the class to the dining room and took them to sit in the are that was designated for the youngest school years. Rainbow was happy that Gilda was a year older than her because it meant she wouldn't be anywhere near during lunch time. However rainbow hadn't realised the a kid in her year called Giles was actually Gilda's brother, (yes I know he's not really) and he did not like rainbow because she'd gotten his sister into trouble a Bunch of times. He went up to rainbow and dumped his dinner on her. When rainbow started crying he started to get in her face, despite being in the same year as rainbows Giles was older, bigger and stronger.

Rainbow: *crying* W-what d-did y-you d-do t-that f-for?!

Giles: you got Gilda into trouble.

One of the dinner ladies came over to see what had happened. She sent Giles with another member of staff to see the head teacher and she took rainbow to the bathroom to get cleaned up. When they we're in the bathroom rainbow was still crying, she couldn't handle another year of being bullied.

Dinner lady: sweetie it's ok, the foods all come out. Would you like me to see if you can go home?

Rainbow was going to say yes, but then decided she didn't want to go home every time something bad happened, because a part from the incident with Giles she really did enjoy school now.

Rainbow: *sniffles* no thank you.

Dinner lady: ok sweetie if you're sure.

*after school*

Bow and Windy had been informed over what had happened and they were not happy about it. They'd spoken to mr storm and he assured them that it will not happen again and rainbow would get an apology from Giles. After the events of the first day they never became the best of friends, but Giles didn't do anything else to hurt her.
