I decided that I'm not going to keep to a specific age through the whole story so that's why rainbow is now a bit older in this chapter, but in the next chapter she might go down an age or up. Scootaloo will be 2 years old in this chapter.

Windy whistles: what time are you going to be home from work?

Bow hothoof: around 7 ish, there's a meeting today so I'm going to be there a little later.

Windy whistles: ok have a great day love you!

Bow hothoof: love you too!

Rainbow and scootaloo were sat in the play room playing with the blocks and children's puzzles when windy then came to get them for lunch. Scootaloo was happily building a tower with the blocks but rainbow was just laying on the giant pillows that they had in the play room.

Scootaloo: *ran up to wind* mummy!

Windy whistles: hey baby you ready for something to eat? *scootaloo nodded*  ok come on then.  *she picked her up*

Windy noticed that rainbow hadn't moved from the pillows and she was cuddling one of the stuffed animals that was kept in the play room. This confused windy as rainbow usually dashed to the dining room when it was time to eat. She walked over to the pillows and kneeled down.

Windy whistles: rainbow baby it's time for lunch. *rainbow whimpered* what's the matter sweetie?

Rainbow: *rubbed her eyes* tired mummy.

Windy whistles: it's ok baby come and have something to eat you might not be so tired after that.

She didn't know why rainbow was so tired as far as she knew rainbow had slept well the night before. This just wasn't like her and decided she was going to keep an eye on her. Rainbow didn't feel right but she wasn't sure what it was.

Windy whistles: right girls your lunch then its time for scootaloo to have a nap.

The kids both ate their food. Well scootaloo ate all of hers she must of been hungry, but rainbow hardly touched hers she was really tired and just not feeling well.

Scootaloo: done mummy!

Windy whistles: ooh good girl. Dashie do you not want anymore?

Rainbow: no mummy.

Windy whistles: ok well I think it's time to put scoot down for her nap, do you want to go to bed or have quiet time and a cuddle with mummy on the sofa?

Rainbow: *muffled* stay with you.

Windy then left rainbow down stairs on the sofa whilst she took scootaloo up to her room. After reading her a short bedtime story she left the toddler to sleep for a bit. As she was heading downstairs she past the bathroom and decided to in there and get the thermometer. When she got back to the living room she sore rainbow was huddled into the corner, her eyes were watering like she had been crying or was about to. Her face was a little flushed and she looked exhausted windy went over to the sofa and sat down next her.  She touched rainbows forehead and it was quite warm maybe this is what was bothering rainbow.

Windy whistles: rainbow is it ok if take your temperature baby?

Rainbow: *nods*

She took rainbows temperature and it was at 38 degrees Celsius. Not a dangerously high fever but high enough to make rainbow feel tired and unwell.

Windy whistles: i think you might have a little bit of a fever baby, do you feel poorly?

Rainbow: *about to start crying* u uh.

Windy pulled rainbow onto her lap and started stroking her hair, something she did to calm her down.

Windy whistles: shhhh shhh it's ok baby, why don't you try and have a little sleep and hopefully you'll feel a little better when you wake up? She kissed rainbows forehead.

Rainbow nodded and within about 5 minutes she was fast asleep. After about an hour rainbow woke up to find windy was not there with her she also discovered the sofa was wet where she was laying a long with her pyjama bottoms. She couldn't believe this she had wet herself something she hadn't done in years, on top all that her head was hurting and her back was really itchy. she started to cry and call for windy.

Rainbow: *crying* mummy!

Windy whistles: shh baby I'm here. What's the matter?

She sore that rainbow pyjamas and the sofa was wet.

Windy whistles: ooh sweetie have you wet yourself? *rainbow nodded and started crying* windy picked her up.

Windy whistles: shhhh baby it's ok let's go and get you changed, the sofa cushion cover comes off so it can be washed.

Windy took rainbow to the bathroom and decided to give her bath to get her clean.

Windy whistles: baby I'm going to take your temperature again before you get in the bath.

She had scootaloo in the bathroom so she could keep an eye on her. She took rainbows temperature and it had risen to 40 degrees, she decided she was going to wash rainbows hair to try and get the fever down. Rainbow would usually play in the bath but she kept crying because she just wanted to get out and cuddle with her mummy. Windy kept shushing her and as she rubbed her back she saw that it was covered in little red spots.

Windy whistles: is your back ok baby?

Rainbow: *whimpered* u uh. Itchy mummy.

Windy then looked at rainbows face and arms and found that they had a few spots on them as well, rainbow then went to start scratching the spots.

Windy whistles: no don't scratch! It was a bit harsher tone than she had meant.

Rainbow: *scared* s-sorry mummy!

Windy whistles: oh no baby I didn't mean to scare you shhhh, I think you might have chicken pox and scratching them will leave scars.  She took rainbow and scootaloo to the bedroom to get rainbow dressed. Scootaloo hadn't really been paying attention as she had been playing with some of her toys in the bathroom.

Scootaloo: why dashie crying mummy?

Windy whistles: she's feeling a little poorly baby, she's got chicken pox.

Scootaloo: *confused* but we haven't ate any chickin.

Windy whistles: *Chuckles* you don't have to eat chicken to get chicken pox baby, I don't know why it's called that. But i think your gonna have to go with daddy and stay at grandmas for a few days.

Scootaloo: but I wanna stay here mummy!

Windy whistles: shh I know you do but chicken pox spreads and if we can prevent you from catching it then we will.

Scootaloo: ok mummy.

Windy then turned her attention back to rainbow who had nearly fallen asleep in her arms, she was still in her towel.

Windy whistles: come on baby don't fall asleep yet let's get you into some nice soft snuggly pyjamas.

She got rainbows pyjamas and a pull up when rainbow saw the pull up she started to get upset again.

Windy whistles: what's the matter baby?

Rainbow: *crying* n-not a b-baby m-mummy!

Windy whistles: shhh I know your not a baby,
But your not very well and sometimes accidents happen when your poorly, it's only until your better I promise.

Rainbow: *tiredly* ok mummy. She was too tired to fight.

Windy got rainbow dressed and realised it was time for tea. She took both girls downstairs she put rainbow on the sofa and placed the blanket on top of her.

Windy whistles: do you want anything to eat dashie?

Rainbow: *Shakes head*

Windy whistles: ok baby but you need to have a drink.

She gave rainbow a glass of juice and then left to get scootaloo her tea. She had been really good today so she decided to make her fish fingers and chips as a treat.

After tea windy needed to try and keep scootaloo away from rainbow until bow came home from work. She didn't quite understand why she couldn't be with rainbow or why she had to stay at grandmas. Windy just explained to her that it was so she didn't get poorly herself. The door then opened and bow came in.

Bow hothoof: I'm home!

Scootaloo: daddy!

Bow hothoof: hey baby you ok?

Scootaloo: yeah, rainbows poorly daddy.

Bow hothoof: I know she is baby that why we're going to go and stay with grandma.

The 2 then went into the living room where windy and rainbow were sat.

Bow hothoof: hey baby girl you ok?

Rainbow: *shakes head*

Windy whistles: she's just not well and really tired, aren't you baby? I think an early night might be in order.

Bow hothoof: ok well me and scoot will head to my mums so rainbow can get some sleep.

Windy whistles: you sure your mums ok with this?

Bow hothoof: yeah she's fine with it. I'll see you when dashie's feeling better, and I'll call you when we get there.

Windy whistles: ok have a nice time.

He then kissed windy on the lips and placed a kiss on rainbows forehead. After that he left with scootaloo leaving windy and rainbow alone. Windy sore that rainbow was starting to fall asleep, it was still early but her baby wasn't feeling well and a good sleep would do her the world of good.

Windy whistles: come on baby let's get you some medicine and then it's night night time I think.

She gave rainbow the medicine and then took her to her and bows room, since bow wasn't there she decided to let rainbow sleep in the bed with her. After reading a bedtime story rainbow was fast asleep, she kissed rainbows forehead and let dimmed the lights whilst she did some work on her laptop.  After a few days rainbow was feeling much better and bow and scootaloo were able to come home.
