Can't Sleep (age 5)

For a while now rainbow had been having trouble with going to sleep, she didn't know or even understand why this was the case all she knew was that every time she lied down on the bed and tried to sleep she just couldn't.

Windy whistles: GIRLS TIME FOR BED!

Scootaloo: can you read me a bedtime story mummy?!

Windy whistles: *chuckles* I think that can be arranged, come on.

Once windy had finished reading scoot a story she went into rainbows room to say goodnight to her.

Windy whistles: night dashie.

Rainbow: night mummy.

*a few hours later*

Rainbow had been tossing and turning all night, but she just couldn't sleep, and now she was starting to get really fed up and emotional. She started to get upset so she decided to go into her parents bedroom.

Rainbow: *crying* m-mummy? D-daddy?

Windy whistles: *tiredly* u-uh? Oh dashie it's you, what's wrong baby?

Rainbow: I-I c-can't s-sleep!

Windy whistles: ok shh come here.

Rainbow walked over to the bed and sat in between her parents. Windy pulled rainbow into a side hug and gently stroked her hair.

Windy whistles: why can't you sleep sweetie?

Rainbow: *shrugs her shoulders*

Windy whistles: well do you feel poorly?

Rainbow: *quietly* n-no.

Windy whistles: did you have a nightmare?

Rainbow: no it's been happening for a while now.

Windy whistles: baby why didn't you say something?

Rainbow: *just shrugs her shoulders*

Windy whistles: *to bow* honey can you go and get a glass of warm milk?

Bow hothoof: sure, be right back.

A few moments later he returned with the milk and found rainbow cuddled into windy's side now half a asleep.

Bow hothoof: here you go dashie, this will help you sleep.

Rainbow: *tiredly* thank you.

Within a few moments rainbow was fast asleep in her parents bed.

Bow hothoof: shall I take her back to her own bed?

Windy whistles: no. *kisses rainbows forehead* let's leave her here for tonight.
