Asthma (age 11)

Rainbow was helping applejack to clean out the barn by her house, they we're moving a lot of dusty boxes as they needed to go through the contents and see what was there.

AJ: thank you for helping me today rainbow.

Rainbow: it's ok, but where are Big Mac and applebloom?

Aj: they've gone with granny to do other jobs, we just need to move all those boxes from up there.

Rainbow: ok I'll get started.

The girls began to move the boxes and they were very dusty. The dust was starting to get on rainbows chest and it was making her cough and splutter. Her coughing became louder and applejack looked over to her.

Aj: *concerned* um are you ok rainbow?

Rainbow: *coughing and wheezing* y-yeah I-I'm f-fine.

She carried on coughing for a couple more seconds and then she could feel her throat closing up and it was becoming hard to breathe. Applejack noticed that rainbows face was starting to become blue, well more blue than usual.

Aj: *worridly* rainbow?

Suddenly rainbow fell to her knees and collapsed on to the floor.

Aj: *scared rushing over to rainbow* RAINBOW!

She noticed that rainbow wasn't breathing properly and began to panic, after a moment she got herself together and performed CPR as she had been taught how to do so. Once she has done that she called an ambulance and then rainbows parents.

*at the hospital*

Rainbow was now fully conscious and was laid on the hospital bed with an oxygen mask on her face. Bow and Windy had arrived and went straight to the room.

Windy whistles: *frantically* oh baby are you ok?!

Rainbow: *removes the mask* I'm fine mum.

Bow hothoof: where's the doctor?

Doctor Johnson: I'm right here. So we did some tests and it appears that rainbow has asthma and the dust caused her to have the attack.

Aj: *feeling guilty* maybe we shouldn't have done those boxes.

Rainbow: it's not your fault applejack, you didn't know that I had asthma and neither did I.

Windy whistles: so what does this mean?

Rainbow: yeah can I still play sports and hang out with my friends?

Doctor Johnson: of course you'll just to carry this inhaler with you.

He handed the inhaler and then discharged her and they went home.

Over the coming weeks rainbow carried her inhaler everywhere that she went.
