"What exactly am I helping you do?" Emiri asked, poking her head from behind Dabi who was looking out onto the dark street.

He had his arm wrapped around her waist to secure her and make sure she wouldn't run, as well as some ropes, but it was obvious he would much rather restrain her himself.

There was no denying that Dabi liked Emiri. In which way? Well, he doesn't know either. Although, it was clear she hated him, and for obvious reasons. But he accepted it, because he would too if he were in her shoes.

Quite frankly, the only thing keeping her there was the thought of him targeting Keigo. That, and the fact that he was the only one who knew what happened to her quirk.

He wouldn't say anything about it, though.

He was, indeed, toying with her.

So much so that she doubted there was any point to all of this. To the kidnapping. The threats. The loss of her quirk.

She thought it was just to mess with her.

And while she was right, there was also another reason as to why the patchwork-faced man needed her.

She was his ticket.

To what, you may ask? Well to be honest, that's a secret.

"Something." He finally responded, then turned to face her.

"Run, scream, or even look at another person for help, and I'll make sure Big Bird is well taken care of."

Nothing scared Emiri more than losing her loved ones, and while that had already happened multiple times, she was no longer afraid of anything.

Or at least that's what she told herself.

But Dabi's low, smoker-like voice sent disturbing chills all though her body.

There wasn't a second that she doubted him or his words.

"What-"

"Say another word and I'll put you back in that chair." Dabi whipped around and glared at Emiri intensely.

"You said you needed my help so I doubt that bacon bits."

Dabi just scoffed and grinned, he liked her attitude. She had more guts than any of the other villains he knew.

And that was saying something.

He dipped back into the alley they were in, "You're pretty ballsy, Angel. Better watch yourself though. Say something like that to the wrong person and you wouldn't live to see tomorrow."

"Great, I'd much rather be dead than be here with you."

Her words didn't faze him, in fact, they entertained him. No one had ever been brave enough to talk to him like that, let alone throw a couple insults at him.

"You sure you wanna be a hero? I mean, doesn't that get boring? Saving people, faking smiles, crowds, stalkers? Don't you wanna be free?"

"You mean stalkers like you?"

"Touché."

Truth be told, she did want to be free. She wanted to get away from the crowds and news reporters. Faking a smile is tiring. For everyone, not just heroes.

But that's no where near enough to make her want to become a villain. At least that's what she assumed he was implying.

Dabi quickly made his way down the dark street with Emiri close by. If she had to guess, she'd say it was around 8pm. There weren't many people around, and the ones that were didn't bother looking at her or Dabi, so she assumed it was an unpopulated area.

She was frustrated.

Sure, she was strong even without her quirk, Aizawa made sure of that. But Dabi had a firm grasp on her, and it didn't even look like he was trying, so she doubted she could get away from him. Not to mention he had his quirk and she didn't.

While her mind was racing and trying to figure out how to get out of this, Dabi quickly weaved in and out of alleys and abandoned buildings with back exits.

When she finally looked up and studied his face, her eyes widened. He had this look on his face. A look of unsureness.

He didn't know where he was going.

Was he stalling...?
