ELEVEN

As I left the building, I made my way back to Diagon Alley and went to the same coffee shop Draco and I went to during the summer hoping he would be there. When I noticed he wasn't there I left and decided to not eat that night as Draco's absence made me lose my appetite. On my way back to Leaky Cauldron I saw Pansy out shopping by herself and I decided I would rather spend time with her than people pretending to be my friends.

"Hey Pansy!"

"Oh hey Daniella. I didn't know you came early."

"I usually don't but I guess I wanted a change this year. Do you mind if I shop around with you for a bit?"

"Not at all." Pansy said, seemingly not remembering all the times I was rude to her.

"So where are you heading to now?" I asked.

"Not sure, maybe to go get food."

"I know this really great coffee shop we can go to." I said, hoping that maybe Draco would be there even though I had just checked.

We started walking towards the coffee shop when I began asking about Draco. "Do you know where Draco has been this summer?"

"I have no idea. Blaise might know, you could ask him if you would like." Replied Pansy.

"Yeah I think I'll pass on that one."

"So what is so special about this coffee shop anyway?" Pansy said, changing the subject.

I paused, unsure how to reply. "I've been to it once and really liked it. Plus I didn't know of any other restaurants around here.

We were gone for almost two hours and as we walked back to Leaky Cauldron where both Pansy and I were staying, we couldn't help but begin talking about random subjects, surprisingly enjoying each other's company. We parted ways after deciding we should hang out with each other again in the morning and I walked into my room which Ginny and I were sharing at Leaky Cauldron when Ron, Ginny, Harry, and Hermione all started staring at me.

"What took you so long?" Asked Harry and Hermione.

"I was with Pansy."

"Why would you be talking to Parkinson? She is like the most annoying girl at Hogwarts." Ginny said.

"She isn't even that bad, plus she's in Slytherin so we hang out a lot in the common room."

I knew I almost never hung out with Pansy but I didn't want to be questioned by them for hanging out with someone new. I headed to bed as I was tired from being outside all day. Although before I climbed into bed I decided to write to Draco.

Dear Draco,

Where have you been? I thought you would have sent me an owl after kicking me out at midnight. I'm not mad, I'm just concerned. Please write back as soon as you can so I know you are okay.
