Misaki Yata[Golden Days]

The reason why you were regretting going back to Shizume City after years of disappearing to Tokyo was one simple person.

Misaki Yata.

You knew him when you were kids. You even had a crush on him. A major crush.

You grew up down the street from him and loved to watch him skateboard. He would always show off for you and do all sorts of tricks. At school, he was popular among everyone, not like he cared. He was your best friend, so when they started to bully you, he said, "Fuck off. I don't need to be friends with jerk offs like you."

That's how you boosted in popularity rankings. You slowly became less shy and felt you could lay your heart out to everyone.

You watched out the window of the plane. Your journal rested in your lap. You would've have taken a bus, but your boyfriend didn't want you to be near the weirdos who commuted from Shizume to Nagasaki.

Your boyfriend was in Tokyo. You met him at highschool. You moved in together and you wanted to go to college at Shizume. You went ahead of your boyfriend in Tokyo, knowing he would be coming a few days later.

You rested your head on the window and thought about the day when you confessed.

Or almost did.

[".....and then the blonde said, 'So I took them both and ran!'"

You snickered with everyone else at Misaki's joke. You smiled and thought, 'I'm going to say it. Right now. I'm going to say it!'

"Hey Misaki?"

He smiled, "Yeah _________?"

"Can I-?"

"MayIspeakwithMisakiYata?!" squeaked a voice from the door.

You turned your head an saw two cow brown eyes stare at Misaki. It was Ren Takaya from Class-E.

Misaki stood up and walked into the hall, "Yeah?"

Ren shut the door, but the walls were thin so you could hear everything.

"M-Misaki.... Will you go out with me?]

Your plans had been foiled by one girl, who had hated you since she set eyes on you.

You learned soon after that you had to move to Tokyo with your family for your father's job.

You left without a word to Misaki. You just disappeared. You didn't want to say goodbye to him, at times you wondered if you were too cruel.

'The plane is descending on Shizume City, please fasten your seat belts and remain seated.'

You pulled your seat belt across your lap and watched as you descended on your home town.

You sat down at the café and sighed, "Still no apartment."

You crossed the building you had just went to see off your list. Man it was hard looking for a good apartment....

You watched as a group of skateboarders did tricks at the skate park up ahead. You remember doing some skateboarding as a kid, but not enough to match their standards.

You stood up and stretched, when someone walked past you and bumped into you. You turned around, "Oh, excuse me-"

Your (e/c) eyes met flashing Hazel ones. Your jaw slackened and your spine tensed. Your arms lowered slowly and you turned your body to the subject next to you.

"Misaki?"

The subject, who at first paid you no mind, turned to you. You covered your mouth, "No way...."

"__________.....?" he asked stunned. He walked over to you, his skateboard tucked under his arm.

You raised your hands and cupped his face, "It's you...."

He hugged you forcefully. You hugged him back and felt tears fall down your face and onto his shoulder.

He pulled back but held onto your shoulders, "Where did you go?"

"Tokyo....." You whispered.

"You didn't say goodbye to me.... You didn't tell anyone about leaving..... I thought you had died _________!" he cried.

You nodded.

So in front of that café, you and your old crush met once again. Then you two talked. You told him about your life in Tokyo and how you were looking for an apartment.

"You could.....stay with me.... Until you find your place of course!" he said blushing.

You smiled and wiped the remaining tears from your eyes, "Thank you...."

He smiled back.

"I'm getting worried," you said, sitting next to Misaki. "Are you sure you didn't see him at the airport?"

"I'm sure," he said.

"Damn it.... I shouldn't have gone to that interview...."

"Stay a couple of days. He should show up. Maybe he got confused," suggested Misaki.

"You're right.... You're right...."

"Just go take a nap and try not to think too much about it," he said nonchalantly.

"You're right... I'm going...."

A few days later, you were feeling nervous. So to get rid of the energy, you decided to clean. You had scrubbed everywhere, but there was this gross odor in the air.

You made your way through the apartment again when you realized the smell came from Misaki's room. It didn't take much for you to decide that you couldn't take the smell anymore.

So you opened the door.

The closed immeadiately back.

You turned around and covered your mouth to keep from screaming. What the fuck was that?! Why was there a body on Misaki's floor?!

Dare you look again?

You did. This time, you examined the body carefully and recognized it as your missing boyfriend.

"Having fun?"

You jumped and fell forward, on top of the hot body. You screamed and scrambled off of it.

"Wh-What is that?! WHY IS HE HERE?!"

Misaki smiled softly and set his board aside, "Aren't you glad? Now we can start over. Everything can go back to how it was in the olden days."

"Misaki....! What are you talking about?!"

"I killed Ren for you. The day I found out you were back, I killed her. I'm in love with you, _________. I loved you ever since we were kids. I just wanted to protect you __________," he said, coming towards you.

You jumped away from him and backed against the dresser. Misaki wrapped his arms around you and whispered in your ear, "It's fine.... Everything will go back to normal.... Back to the olden days...."
