You stared at the night light with suspicion.
"It's a cursed night light! Apparently, a little girl in the 1900's owned it. She was the daughter of a rich man in America. She slaughtered her whole family and told the police that it was "Levi's Fault." Ever since then, any person who has owned this night light has their whole family killed and blame it on a demon named Levi!"
Your classmates marveled at it. You shrugged, "Demons aren't real, but it's cool that you have it."
"What?! You don't believe my story?!" cries your classmate.
You raised an eyebrow, "Are we in 7th grade? We are in high school right? I stopped believing in Urban Legends a long time ago."
"Well if you don't believe in them, why don't you spend the night with this night light on~?"
The bell rang. You shrugged and picked it up, "Okay. See ya tomorrow guys."
You grabbed your bags and headed home.

You plugged the night light in and flipped the top light off. You yawned and let your hair down from the bandana you wore. You plopped down in your bed and laughed to yourself. You thought of all the ways you could screw with your classmates.
After deciding to go to school with insomnia makeup and say "Levi's fault" over and over again, you pulled your covers over your body and closed your eyes to go asleep.
Creak.
Your eyes shot back open.
You felt someone lay down next to you. Your back was turned to them and your heart was beating fast.
You refused to jump at the feeling of something touch your back. You swallowed and waited until they were completely still to force a glance behind you.
A long wet tongue licked the back of your neck.
You shot up and saw....your dog, tail wagging happily. You sighed, "What are you doing? Did you sneak in?"
Their tail thumped happily against your bed. You sighed and opened the door to let them out.
"Jeez, you nearly scared me you damn dog....." you muttered to yourself heading back to bed.
"Why?"
You breathed in sharply. It sounded like a cross between a gasp and a wheeze.
You heard a soft "hmph" of amusement. Two arms wrapped around your waist and whispered, "You are in my control now, human~"
Your breathing became ragged. The sultry voice slightly turned you on but you wouldn't admit it.
"Now I want you to take that bat-"
Your eyes flickered to your old softball bat. It was resting on your night table, just in reach.
"-and I want you to-"
"FUCK THAT SHIT!" you yelled, grabbing the bat. You swung it around and hit the demon in his side. You managed to knock him back. You held the bat in front of his face, "Who the hell are you?"
He had this shocked look on his face. You narrowed your eyes and turned away, "Look, get back in your night light and let me sleep."
"You're not afraid of me?"
You snorted, "I was, until you said that. Whatever, get back to wherever you come from."
"I can't."
"Eh?" you looked at the demon. He had straight black hair and black-grey eyes. He stood up. He was wearing a white button down with black pants and suspenders. A
"I can't until you kill your family. That's how the demon realm works. I can't go back until I complete my job here."
"Why don't you just kill them?"
"Then I'll get locked out."
"So basically..."
"Looks like we'll be roommates, _________," he sighed.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
"So! How'd ya sleep _________?"
You stretched and handed your classmate the night light, "Like a baby."
Your classmates look disappointed that you didn't go insane, except for the few who were relieved the lamp wasn't possessed.
"Why don't you tell them that you were shivering the entire time?" asked Levi.
You growled softly and walked away from the group, you sat down in your desk and whispered, "Don't you have to follow the night light?"
"Nope, I follow the person who plugged it in. You."
"Fuck you... And stop eating my damn food. Dad likes his cereal."
You heard a smash and you looked up. The window in the front of the class broke. You narrowed your eyes at Levi. He was gone. By gone, you mean not visible to you. You knew he was close though. You could feel that arrogant air around him.
It made you shiver.

"Your teacher is an idiot," Levi was lying on your bed. He was tossing a tennis ball in the air, bored.
"Which one?" you asked, not really paying attention.
"The history one."
"Oh, and your an expert on history now?" you asked. You deleted another sentence of your report, knowing it wasn't right.
'Damn.... This is hard....'
"Your speaking to a two hundred year old demon."
"So....Do you know where the American Revolution's twelfth battle was?" you asked, seeing a slight glimmer of hope.
"Bennington, New York," he said lazily. The tennis ball hit the roof before coming back down into his hand.
You smiled to yourself and typed it into your report, "It looks like we may get along just fine..."

You pointed to the question. Levi sat down on your desk and looked at the multiple choice questions.
"Spain entered in 1799."
You circled A and smiled to yourself.
It was wrong, you knew, but Levi was there. And he wouldn't be leaving for a long time.
You circled the next answer, which was a basic one, and pointed to the more difficult one.
Suddenly he asked, off topic, "Who was that guy you were talking to yesterday?"
You looked up at him confused. You scribbled on the side of your paper: What guy?
"The one who played with your hair."
He was getting trash, you idiot. Now shut up and help me.
"Who?"
You sighed and erased the other words, writing down your reply.
Why do you care?
He remained silent before saying, "William Ellery and Stephen Hopkins signed the Declaration of Independence for Rhode Island."

You woke up that night to the feeling of hot skin against your waist. Humid breath blew down your neck. You looked over your shoulder and saw Levi staring straight back at you. His eyes wide
"Go back to sleep."
You obeyed the black haired demon and put your head back on the pillow.
"Why?" he whispered.
You were shaking now.
"Why do you not love me?"
His grip on your waist tightened.
"Levi...What are you doing?"
He ignored your question and kissed the back of your head. He took a deep breath and smelled your hair.
"I'm never leaving you ________..."
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
You yawned, "Mom.... Wake up...."
You knocked on her door, "Come on I'm going to be late."
You heard a choked noise.
"Mom?" you pushed the door open. You then saw your mother, hanging from a rope in the middle of the room.
"MOM!" you screamed and rushed over to her. She was straining at the noose wrapped around her neck.
You frantically tried moving furniture so you could cut her down. All of the light furniture was gone, just the dresser and bed remained. By the time you managed to move the dresser, it was too late.
You stared at your mother's body, eyes watering. Only one person could have done something so sinister, so cruel.
"Levi..."
He kissed your ear, "Yes _________?"
"Why?"
"Because I love you."
You didn't say anything as Levi whispered, "Let's walk today."

You held the letter opener in your hand, shaking. Levi smiled, and wrapped his hands around your wrist, guiding you. Your eyes watered.
"__-_______, put down the letter opener," said your teacher, shielding the other students with his body. He held his stomach in one hand to keep himself from bleeding. The stronger students slowly made their way to you, not making any sudden movements. You simply stood there, shoulder's shaking.
Levi guided you forward. Tears sloshed from your eyes. He kissed your cheek, "Finish him off ___________."
You shook your head and whispered, "N-No...."
"_________, put it down and we'll just go on with our day. Put it down _________."
Levi let go of your wrists and walked in front of you, he put his hands on your shoulders and looked your right in the eye, "Don't you love me ________?"
You were shaking. You stared into his eyes, let a breath out, and felt your knees buckle. You fell to the ground, shoulders shaking. You felt like a limp marionette puppet.
"Why are you crying _________?" Levi asked, wrapping his arms around you. "I love you... That should make up happy."
You shook your head.
"Kiss me _________...."
"Put it down."
You shook your head and sobbed, "No..."
"Then I guess I have to do this."
Levi took the letter opener from your hand. He walked over to the large man and raised the blade.
"No!" you cried as Levi stabbed your teacher.
A girl screamed and you were held back.
"St-Stop him!" you cried.
A boy tried to run. He grabbed the doorknob but the door slammed shut and locked. The students banged on the door, calling for help. People tried breaking the windows, but Levi kept them from shattering.
People fell down, one by one. Their necks and wrists sliced open. You were let go and you fell against the floor. You curled into a ball and waited until the last person stopped sobbing.
Levi kneeled next to your head, "Shh....Don't cry..."
He petted your head, "You should look _________.... It's beautiful..."
Then he whispered in your ear, "Not as beautiful as you though...."
