Guys and Dolls

The night was off to a great start, I'd been stuck as a tag-along babysitter with Sarah whilst the boys were in the other room screaming.

"Debby's my favourite and now she's ruined" Jane whined

"I'm sure I could fix her with some tape or something" Sarah was a good babysitter, she would always try her hardest to cheer Jane up but I have a feeling this situation won't be an easy one to fix.

"Yeah or some superglue, I'll go ask Ethan for some, ok?"

"Ok!"

Ethan most likely used all of his superglue on making the Doug what's-his-face action figure but it was worth a shot.

"DUDE! HE CAME OUT OF NOWHERE!" I heard one of them scream, it was hard to tell over the sound effects from Ethan's PC.

"Ethan?"

"Yeah Jane?" he didn't even look around he was that indulged in the game

"One, it's Willow. Two, do you have any superglue?"

"NOO!" He groaned

"So no superglue?"

"No, no superglue and I wasn't talking about that." Clearly, the guys had both spent too much time playing games that it had finally had enough, and crashed.

"It's not fair!" He whined repetitively "Can't believe we burned out the processor now, wait, I think if I can jump these cables...we can get it working"

"Or we can just use a minor reparation spell, it can fix anything! It says so right here!"

"But do you know how to pronounce the words?" I questioned, Benny was actually an alright spell caster, just not when he pronounced the words wrong and casts the opposite of what he originally wanted.

"Booyah! No need! We are back in business!"

"And I am backing out the room!" As much as I adored the two boys, they were unbearable when it came to playing video games. One time, I stole Benny's pet pig in Minecraft, tamed it and called it Clarence, yeah he was not too happy about that.

"Oh hey Sarah? Where's Jane?" She'd clearly gotten a text or something of that sort considering when I made my way to the landing, she was already putting her phone in her back pocket.

"Probably trying to fix Debbie, I had to step out because my Dad called me, something about the autoshop? I don't know, he was speaking too fast. As much as I hate to admit it, I have forgotten most of my portuguese."

"What?"

"Oh right, my Dad's first language is portuguese and he made me grow up speaking it but I forgot most of the words"

"Oh, cool." Fun new fact, I guess. "Jane!" We had made our way back into her room, "Ethan didn't have any superglue-"

When my eyes had fully adjusted, I realised what was standing infront of me.

"Look what I made!" she smiled, proud of herself.

"Hi! I'm Debbie Dazzle! Wanna play?"

"Yeah, no thanks Annabelle."

"But my name's Debbie!" I hate dolls.

"Um guys! You're gonna want to see this!" Sarah screeched down the hall.

//

"What the hell is that?" Ethan marvelled

"It's a life sized Debbie Dazzle. I think I had a dream about this once," Benny confessed. Ethan looked terrified by this.

"Jane, can I talk to you for a minute?"

The boy had dragged his sister into the hall, us all following along, leaving Chucky's wife in the room.

"Jane, how on earth did this happen?!" Ethan worried for his sister.

Jane shrugged her shoulders, as mature as she was for her age, she was definitely an average nine year old. "She had a broken leg so I used Benny's fix-it spell and now she's alive!"

"Oo let's have ice cream and go to a roller disco dance party" Debbie suggested

"Yay!" Jane cheered, she just wanted some fun not realising what dangers it could lie.

"I am so in!" Benny shouted

"No parties. We need to turn her back into a doll" Debbie's eyes widened at Ethan's remark

"No, I don't want to go back. It's so boring. I want to have fun! I won't go back, I won't!"

"Don't worry I won't let them change you back. I promise!" The young girl squealed

"Oh goodie, let's celebrate. Cupcake dance party!"

"Benny, find a way to undo this. Now!" I exclaimed

Predictably, Benny moaned about this comment as per usual, but I could see where he's coming from, "It's not that simple. I think Jane used a different spell. Or different words... I can't reverse it until I know the EXACT spell"

"Kitchen party!" Debbie screamed from the stairs

"Just.. find the spell, fast!" Sarah suggested

"OH, so you get to go to the party. That's fair!" he whined

//

I had nothing to do whilst we waited for Benny, Sarah was helping bake with the two others whilst Ethan was the designated taste taster. This led me to playing Subway Surfers before I got a text, which made my game glitch.

*hey*

*DUDE!*

*huh, what have i done?*

*nothing, when you text my game glitched*

*ha! looks like you will never beat my highscore after all*

*hey, do you wanna come over? I'm at e's but i'm rlly bored*

*no dur, be there soon*

Well at least I won't be alone anymore.

"Whoa this is a cupcake party!" Benny's voice echoed throughout the kitchen...after being upstairs for an hour

"Find anything?" Please say he found something, this doll is getting creepier by the minute.

"I've got good news and bad news. Bad news, couldn't find the spell"

"So what's the good news?" Ethan jumped in

"I'm on level two of Knights of Ninjitsu Four!"

My jaw dropped in shock and Ethan made a face, not shocked by pleased.

"You've been up there an hour!" Sarah exclaimed

He took offense to this and had to defend himself, "It's a hard game!"

"Mmm! Lemon swirl" Debby cheered

"No, no more cupcakes" Finally someone with some sense.

"Oo I'll take one!" Benny licked his lips heading towards Debbie.

"Seriously?"

"What?" his mouth was full of icing with crumbs spilling as he spoke "I'm hungry!"

"Oh no! Look at your clothes! I know just what we should play next. Debbie Dazzle fashion show!"

"Okay!"

The girl began to run up to her room, Debbie hobbled one behind before collapsing slightly. Ethan, being the nice guy he is, obviously had to check on her.

"Are.. are you okay?-" There wasn't long before he was gasping for air.

"I'm fine, great in fact. Let's have some fashion fun!" Debbie had suddenly perked up from her position and was now walking perfectly fine.

"What the-" Before I could get another word out, Etahn was stumbled onto the floor but fortunately Benny had caught him in time.

"Whoa... Whoa. What happened?"

"I had a vision. Debbie needs life energy to stay in human form. She absorbs it through contact. If.. um.. if we" he stumbled more.

"Easy bud" Benny held onto him tighter "She might've drained you a little"

"Wait, maybe if we keep her away from people, she'll turn back into a doll" Ethan suggested

"Let's hope" I said as the doorbell rang, finally someone to talk to.

Ethan opened the door where a wide-smiling Rory stood

"Yeah! The fun starts now!"

"Rory now isn't the best time"

Rory frowned, tilting his head to the side

"You're not gonna invite me in?" He said with a frown

"Sorry, the fun can start later" Ethan said shutting the door

"Dude! I invited him!" I exclaimed

"Why?"

"Seriously!?" Immediately, I took my phone out and messaged Rory again

*sorry, Ethan's in a mood and wouldn't let anyone else answer the door, I'm leaving soon. meet me at my house?*

*sure, no problem*

I seriously don't get what Ethan and Benny's issue is with him.

//

"Is this what girls usually do with their dolls?" Benny asked, watching Jane and Debbie rip up old clothes

"You don't do this with yours?" Sarah bit back

"Those are action figures!"

"Those are action figures!" I mocked in a high voice

"We need to get her alone" Ethan demanded, he definitely didn't like her after the kitchen incident, "Hey, um, Debbie. Guess what? I just found a bunch of... uh, things girls say go with shoes!"

"Oh! I love accessorising!" Debbie smiled, her teeth were too white, it was creepy, and blinding.

"Right in here, go crazy!" Ethan led her to his room opening the door long enough for her to get in and for him to lock it.

"HEY! Let me out! I want to play! You guys are real party poopers!"

"She is really creepy" I mumbled

"What about the window?"

"We're on the second floor, it's not like she can fly!" Benny sneered

Maybe she couldn't, but someone else certainly could.
