Alex's POV

I woke up with Bruce's arm wrapped around my waist and last night flooded back. I turned round so I could see his face I traced his face and swept his hair out of his face "you know it's rude to stare" he mumbled I leaned up against him and kissed his lips "if I wake up like this every day I'm gonna love it" I smiled at him. Slipping out of bed he grumbled "no come back" he moaned "Nope I need to get ready and so do you birthday boy" he froze "how did you know?" I laughed "well Bruce I'm your girlfriend and I pretty much know everything thanks to Alfred. You need to get up and ready for the party" he smirked "really" I nodded "it is 1:55 in the afternoon party starts at 3 so you might wanna hurry" I smiled at him he laughed and got up.

The food was all laid out and guests started arriving Bruce stood and greeted them with a warm smile.

9:30pm

Bruce was about to make his speech when he pulled me over to meet a friend "Alex I would like you to meet Henri Ducard my mentor when I was away for months" I smiled politely "its a pleasure to meet you Mr Ducard" I shook his hand which he kissed my knuckles "no it's all my pleasure" I bid my goodbyes as I went to talk to Alfred. Bruce clicked his glass signalling he was going to make a speech "well my friends and loved ones. I may be Bruce Wayne and own Wayne Enterprises but my friends. All you do is come to a party with free booze drink it all and act nice when I know you all hate me with a passion. My dear Alexandra Crane you're just like them, coming to my home and making yourself comfortable but you're not as good as Rachel Dawes. She was beautiful whereas you're just plain. Now will everyone do me a favour and leave my home take your drink and go. Get out leave me in peace" I froze and a tear slipped Bruce glanced over and stared at me with a look that showed pain? I walked up and slapped him across his face "you're a prick" I then walked up to Bruce's room to pack my stuff until I heard a conversation "what now Henri. I told her I didn't love her and told everyone to leave because you wanted to fight. You want a fight here's one" I froze Bruce didn't mean it. The door was broken into and a figure emerged with a canister filled with Gas. I dropped to the floor and stayed still but rolled under the bed they lit a match and the room was engulfed with flames "Master Wayne. Master Wayne! You'd think all those press ups would be helpful but you can't lift a bit of wood" Alfred! I screamed and Bruce ran in followed by Alfred I grabbed Bruce's outstretched hand and ran to the study where the awful notes where played and the bookcase moved and the elevator was revealed. Alfred,Bruce and I stumbled into the elevator and hit the down button sending us down. I grabbed my heels and put on my converse which I grabbed, Bruce grabbed my arm making me face him "please look at me" he begged I looked at him in disgust "no I hate you Bruce as soon as we are out of this cave. I'm gone because we are done. There's no more us" I watched his face fall "Ale-" I cut him off "don't Alex me! I heard your conversation with Henri! He made you say those words. You could have told me,this could have been stopped but no you didn't tell me. You've broken my trust for you, when I get out of this cave I'm gone. I'm going to find my own house and live there"

Bruce led me out of the cave and back to the manor where my car was waiting "goodbye Bruce but may I ask one question?" I spoke he only nodded "why lie and say that?" He froze not knowing what to say "there we go" I walked to my car and climbed in "bye Bruce just remember I'll always love you" I drove off with tears streaming down my face.

Bruce's POV

I had let her go. I felt a hand on my shoulder "Master Wayne she'll come back. She loves you" I nodded "I love her too Alfred and I let her go" I felt a tear escape my eye and then more came. This is worse than loosing Rachel "Master Wayne she wanted me to give you this"

Bruce,
I heard everything that happened and I don't hate you. In fact I love you too much to hate you but I need some time to clear my head and considering Jonathan's in Arkham I'm going to be staying at his house. So if you ever want to talk that's where I'll be.

I froze she didn't hate me she loves me, I grabbed the Lamborghini and Alfred pulling him to the car. "Let's go get the woman I love" I smiled genuinely "Master Wayne give her some space she needs room wait until the manor is built." I nodded knowing he was right I had decided to drive to the penthouse instead.
