Alex's POV

Today was Thomas' first birthday! We had celebrated by setting off lanterns and making biscuits. Bruce and I watched as he opened all his presents struggling to get the paper off, Bruce held Hazel whilst I sat behind Thomas with my legs on either side. I grabbed his toy from Alfred, I ripped a tiny bit off and sighed "Alfred I thought we agreed nothing to expensive" he smiled "sorry Alex but I had too he is special to us all" I smiled and realised that Alfred had brought him a whole car set. I passed Thomas the present from his sister, she had got him a new toy with a blanket but also a Winnie the Pooh bed lamp. I set the present from Bruce and I infront of Thomas, we had gotten him a train with tracks but you could sit on the train as it goes round. After all the presents had been given it was 2 in the afternoon, I had made cookies,biscuits,brownies and invited Harley and her family over to celebrate Thomas' birthday. Jonathan had turned up with his new girlfriend Emma who was genuinely kind and all round nice, by 7:30 the kids had fallen asleep, so Bruce,Jonathan,Emma and Harley started drinking. Some people had to stay sober so Alfred,Ben and I stayed sober just incase the kids woke up. I heard a bang from upstairs so I excused myself and ran to the floor, I noticed Thomas' door open when I knew I had closed it. Picking up the baseball bat I held it in a position where I can hit someone but not kill them. I pushed the door open and noticed Joker stood over Thomas "get away from him J!" I spoke scared for my sons life "ah doll. Now this it what you have been doing whilst quitting your job. Now I have missed you doll" I froze as he walked over and stroked my cheek "if you leave I won't tell anyone I saw you. Please just leave" I begged. He looked deep in thought and shook his head "okayyy dolllll but where can I find Harleen Quinzel?" I shrugged my shoulders "use words doll" he pushed a knife closer to Thomas "I don't know. I haven't spoke to her since I've worked at the asylum!" I breathed panic settling in my voice. "Please leave my family alone. Just leave and don't come back. Why do you come back!?" I argued and put the bat up in a protective stance! "Well doll truth is you are attractive. Moree than Harley was and we'd make very goodd partners you could ah say" he then laughed and Bruce burst through the door "get out of our house before I call GCPD" Bruce threatened. He grabbed the bat and hit the Joker in the stomach whilst I grabbed Thomas and ran to Hazels room only to notice Killer Croc was there about to grab her "Waylen please don't hurt her she's just a baby!" He froze and turned around. Waylen and I used to date in high school and he broke it off after his incident because he thought I would look at him as a monster "why!? How!?" I walked closer to him and put my hand on his arm "she's just a baby. She's my daughter Waylen like he's my son. Why did J bring you guys here?" He shrugged "he said we had to get a pretty girl who used to work at the asylum but I didn't think it would be you" I walked away from Waylen and placed Thomas on the chair and gave him his bear. I walked back over to Waylen and hugged him "you can change you know?" I told him "I like being like this I'm unstoppab-" "no you're not one day someone bigger and better will come and defeat you just becau-" I was cut off but not by Waylen "that some one would be me pretty gurl" Bane. Bane was in my house, I turned around to come face to chest with him. Whilst staring at Bane, Waylen grabbed me and started running "NO PUT ME DOWN! MY CHILDREN ARE UP THERE! WAYLEN PLEASE!" He shook his head "I'm sorry" I was thrown into an ice cream truck where I saw Harvey Dent AKA Two-Face. "Hello now do you live or do you die?" He flipped the coin "you got lucky you live gorgeous" I gulped "please I have children just let me go" I noticed Joker was in the van "we need Batsys attention and you are the key so we kinda need you" I froze. Bruce. They wanted Bruce. "batman a not around anymore please"

After getting to the destination I noticed we were near Wayne Enterprises. One of the tallest buildings in Gotham.

After Joker shot the guards Bane picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, with tied hands I pounded on his back as hard as I could and pleading but being gagged it was hard. Joker turned around and stabbed my gut. We reached the elevator and all piled in, I was scared. What were they going to do to get Bruce's attention? We reached the top floor and climbed the stairs. The Roof. No.

Bane put me down on the floor and I tired to wriggle away but failed the pain was immense. He tied me to rope and stood me up on the edge of the building. Oh my god I'm going to die. Was the only thought that ran through my head.

I noticed Batman had arrived "ah this is a party" Bane joked "now Batsy you can save her but you must take off your mask" I shook my head pleading with him not to take off his mask. I looked into Bruces eyes and teared up, he shook his head and I felt Bane push me. The wind flowed through my hair as I neared the floor only to feel hands around my body.

Third Persons POV

Bruce grabbed Alex by her stomach and the pair landed on the floor. Alex hit her head and Bruce noticed her stab wound "Alex?" His gruff voice called out and picked his wife's head up and noticed her closed eyes "please no" he took his gloves off and put his two fingers to her neck. A faint pulse was felt but it was slowing, even with his mask on Bruce was slowly tearing up at his wife's broken and beaten body, he sat there cradling his wife whilst on lookers stood shocked at The Batman crouched over a body, Bruce gave up and took his mask off earning gasps from the crowd. Whispers erupted and more people crowded and watched as the mighty billionaire had just watched his wife on her near death bed. Forcing people out the way Alfred and paramedics arrived on the scene and Alfred froze at the sight of Alex's bloody and pale body "excuse me sir you're going to have to stand back" Bruce stood up and the crowd gasped once again as they say his red eyes over his wife. Alfred came forward and hugged him, the pair climbed into the ambulance with Alex's slowly dying body and prayed for the best.
