Outer Banks [Rafe Cameron]

summary: Barry plays matchmaker for Rafe and the new hippie in town (AU where Barry is just your local dealer and Rafe is your typical young adult with a coke addiction, totally normal, right)

***

Over the years, Barry knew his customers. He had his usual men from the cut, using their new earning for some coke. Kooks trying to get weed for their parties, JJ for weed and Rafe for coke.

So when he saw the little yellow Volkswagen beetle pull up to his trailer, Barry was confused. The girl who stepped out of the car was probably no older than 19, her multi colored skirt flowed with the wind, a bandeau headband keeping her baby hairs in tact and a white cropped tank top with flowers.

"I heard you sell weed?" She asked taking off her sunglasses, tucking them onto her shirt.

"How much you looking for?" Barry asked. He didn't judge who came to him, as long he was the supply and they have the money, it's perfectly fine with him.

"1 ounce." She said nonchalantly like it wasn't the biggest deal in the world.

"You mean 1 gram?" He furrowed his brows. Yes he did have enough weed, but for the girl who was barely over 5'4 asking for that much weed, it's like she wants to drown herself in it.

"No, 1 ounce, like I said." She repeated thinking he didn't understand her.

"That's gonna cost you." He made his way towards his table. He started to wrap her bag when he looked up to see her pulling out a wad of cash from her pocket, a flower clip keeping it all together.

"Is one-fifty enough?" She asked pulling 1 one hundred bill and a fifty. Barry slightly shocked, nodded not trusting his voice. If she was going to be a new regular for him, she could buy all the weed she wanted.

"Great, I'm Y/n by the way." She smiled grabbing her bag, flashing a peace sign before making her way towards her car.

Rafe needed a pick me up. Rose decided she wanted to redo all the bathrooms in Tannyhill again and Rafe couldn't stand her voice booming through her house. He looked through the drawer of his nightstand hoping to find at least a line, but nonetheless nothing was there. He was able to slip out of the house without Rose noticing before getting into his truck, making his way towards the cut.

He noticed the yellow beetle a couple hundred away. He hadn't since it on the island before. The majority of girls drove jeeps or walked. He parked behind the car, pulling out a few bills before grabbing his sunglasses, getting out of the car and making his way towards the trailer.

Rafe saw the girl in the multicolored skirt, white tank top and bandeau headband taking to Barry for a few seconds before giving her goodbye and making her way towards him. She looked up at him giving a sweet smile, continuing her way back towards her car. Rafe looked behind his shoulder, slightly lowering his glasses to get a better look at her. He licked his lips before turning his head back around making his way towards Barry.

"She's new." Rafe commented. Barry nodded along with him already grabbing a small ziploc baggie.

"Bought an ounce of weed." Barry replied.

"An ounce!" He removed his glasses, eyes bulging.

"Gave me hippie vibes, and they inhale weed like it's air." Barry said. He looked up to see Rafe looking behind him. Barry moved to the side to see what he was looking at. Y/n had rolled down her windows, being able to see her vines hanging from her ceiling, her music blasting as she made her way out back to the street.

"You crushing country club." Barry teased sliding the bag across the table.

"Shut up." Rafe dismissed him.

"You didn't say no!" Barry chuckled.

"I'm leaving now." Rafe grumbled grabbing the bag making his way back to his truck.

"Don't deny it, you think she's hot. Her name's Y/n by the way." Barry called out, receiving a middle finger in response.

He didn't see her until two weeks later when he went back to Barry's. It looked like the two of them were having a conversation, Y/n laughing slightly at what he said. Barry was able to see over her shoulder and saw Rafe making his way towards the two of them. Bary gave Rafe a small wink, before turning his attention back to Y/n.

"Hey man!" Rafe came up to Barry.

"Y/n is this is, Rafe. Rafe this is Y/n, she just moved here a month ago." Barry introduced the two. Rafe down at the girl, who wore a slightly similar outfit when he saw her last. A black tank top and brown flare pants and bracelets going up half her forearm.

"Nice to meet you." She smiled waving.

"You know." Barry smirked. "Rafe's little sister has a thing for crystals, you can take him."

"Huh?" Rafe furrowed his brows.

"Oh I found this shop on the island that has the best crystals, but you don't have to go if you don't want to." Y/n smiled looking at him.

"No, it's cool, I'll come." Rafe rubbed the back of his neck. He didn't understand why he was so nervous, he's flirted with dozens of girls and now he can barely form a sentence without blushing.

"Great, we can take my car." She grabbed her keys making her way. Rafe turned back to Barry who was still smirking at him.

"Did you just land me a date?" Rafe whisper-shouted not wanting Y/n to hear.

"You couldn't do it, so I did. Make sure you bring me back so crystals or shit!" Barry chuckled watching Rafe run up to Y/n to join her bye her side. "They are so boning by the end of this week." Barry whispered to himself before pulling another blunt for himself.

"You good there?" Y/n looked over at him. Rafe's leg were almost. touching the glove compartment, He's slightly leaning his neck so he won't hit the top of the car.

"Yup, great." He adjusted the seat to be slightly comfortable. "So why did you decide to move to the island?"

"Oh, I'm taking a gap year before going to UNC, that's if I still want to go and my grandma used to live here and I always liked it when I came to visit."

"Who's your grandma, might know her, small island." Rafe tried to make small talk.

"Marie L/n." She answered.

"Shit, no way!" Rafe smiled. "She always babysat me and my friends during the summer."

"Small world." Y/n smiled turning into the parking lot of the shop. She grabbed her tote bag from the back seat before getting out of the girl joining Rafe as they made their way inside.

Y/n went on her way through the store, Rafe following a few steps behind. He couldn't lie, he didn't know a single thing that was happening, and it looked like Y/n was starting to catch on.

"You don't know anything, don't you." Y/n gave me a small smirk.

"Yeah." He huffed. "But I think Barry had some idea that I liked you and tried to play matchmaker."

"Well then, how about we go somewhere, you know and you can tell me all about it." She grabbed her bag of crystals making her way up to the front. She paid, grabbing Rafe's hand, putting her stuff in the car, letting the two walk down the street.

"So why aren't we driving?" Rafe asked.

"Well it's a nice day out, we can talk and I like holding your hand." Y/n confessed giving his hand a small squeeze.

"Me too." He smiled squeezing her hand back.
