Halo of Darkness

Experienced Huntsman x Watchman

TW: Sequestration

"May the Lord in our heaven have mercy..."

The man clad in white walked forward in the darkness, his steps and the fluttering of his skirt soundless. A light fog slithered at his feet like a cloud and huge pairs of wings on his back trailed on the ground. They were a pure and blinding white similar to gazing straight at the sun. But amidst this veil of light, his dark hair was reminiscent of the hell pit of sins.

"All holy angels and archangels have one duty..."

He chanted as he continued to walk towards a big bird cage made of gold.

"To fight against the snares of the devil."

He stopped and passed his fingers on the bars. Leaning on the opposite side sat a man whose face was covered by a mask. His clothes were tattered and horns in a pitiful state protruded from his forehead. It seemed like his eye glowed an ominous purple for a second but the angel remained unfazed.

"You angels were always more wicked than you appear." snarled the demon in his prison of gold. "No, are you even an angel anymore?"

The dark-haired man's eyebrow twitched but his expression did not change, though his fingers tightened on the rail.

"God said that the equilibrium between good and evil is supposed to keep a fair balance but I don't agree."

"Is that why you were thrown out, ha?" he laughed.

"This doesn't matter." His grip relaxed and he regained his composure, a slight smile drawn on his lips. "As long as you are behind those bars, you can't use your demonic powers and thus cannot go to the human realm to corrupt innocent souls."

The demon flinched a bit at the malicious intent hidden deep withing the angel but in a way, the situation was quite entertaining. It wasn't everyday that a servant of the evil would get abducted by an old follower of the Lord.

"You should worry about your own state. Your wings are turning gray."

The angel shivered at those words and grazed the long feathers within reach. It was true.

"Mind your business."

"I think it is though? If you keep me here because I'm evil, should I not be concerned about you who's on the verge of turning into what you despise the most? There's quite a lot of space in there, you know?" the demon said while lying on the floor of darkness. "I wouldn't mind some company."

"In your nightmares."

"See, you're already cursing! Maybe it will happen sooner than we think~?"

"You and I are not the same. Until the day God completely takes back his blessing, I'll keep you locked up here so you can't commit any evil deeds."

The angel turned around to leave under the amused gaze of the demon.

"I can't wait to see you again, my dear angel."
