It was in a shady area, you know, the kind of place one could only find on purpose unless they had a horrible sense of direction. Just get away from the fancy neighborhoods and turn here and there into some dark alleys. There were a few prostitutes and beggars along the way, but it's not as if that was new in this society. Finally after this short journey you would see the grandiose front of the flagship establishment in this scrupulous market.

Large golden capital letters that screamed Casino Oletus.

No sooner had you stepped inside than the air rich in alcohol and other dubious substances transported you to another dimension. Yet don't be fooled by the atmosphere. Whether it was in the noblest of kingdoms or the crappiest of slums, there were strict rules. The casino was known to have strict policies that left no room for loopholes. Breaking them would mean saying goodbye to more than just your fortune. With some luck, you would only end up with the feeling of being constantly chased like someone was holding a gun to your forehead while you slept.

Speaking of which, the brown-haired man's eyes stared at a burly man being led outside by two men from security. This man was surely going to join those people who would have preferred to throw themselves off a roof while they still could.

He crushed his cigar in the ashtray and leaned against the counter. He noticed a waiter walking around and he couldn't help but stare at the rabbit ears on his head. Had they decided to have a theme for today? Not that he didn't like it, on the contrary. The thigh-high garters were also refreshing with the classic top of his work outfit.

"Champagne, sir?" he asked.

"Is that all you serve?"

He took one of the glasses from the waiter's tray and took a sip. It wasn't a real question obviously. Rather than about the drinks, his intentions were directed elsewhere. The employee understood this immediately.

"That depends, do you think you can finance the premium product line?"

The man's expression was tired and haggard but it was that singular charm that drew him in so much.

"I haven't seen you before, are you new?"

"I've been working here for two months but I was originally in another branch of the company."

"So you've been transferred? For better or for worse?" he said with a laugh.

"In the positive sense. So my services are quite expensive."

"I see..." He sketched a smile. He fumbled in the pocket of his beige coat before approaching the waiter to a dangerous proximity. His fingers slid against his thigh to sneak a bill that few would be lucky enough to see in a lifetime. "Good thing I have a job that pays well, even if I have to get my hands dirty quite often as a trade-off."

The waiter glanced sideways at him, a faint sparkle crossing his onyx eyes. He reached into his jacket and pulled out a key, handing it to the brown-haired man.

"Give it to my colleague stationed at the elevator, he will take you to our royal suite. I have a few more cups to hand out."

"No problem, I'm very patient."

He clutched the key in his palm then tucked his hands into his pockets. He was pretty sure he caught a glimpse of the hint of a smile on the waiter's lips before he slipped away, but he was going to have to wait a while to find out for sure.
