The Well

(United Kingdom, England, Greenwich, Greenwich University)

Lyra's POV.

[Lyra's Outfit]

A few days ago The Almighty God of Thunder and Son of... Something... Thor decided to bring a fight with some goblins to Earth to stop them from invading us... I think. But anyways, now we are left with...

"... An enormous mess to clean up." Simmons says as Ward and myself tip boxes filled with possible alien technology, but mainly rubble, onto plastic covers placed on the floor as we stand in Greenwich University.

"Don't say I never gave you anything." Ward says to her as she stands around the rubble with a Spectographic Analyser in her hands.

[Spectographic Analyser]

"Checking for alien spectrographic signatures one teeny rock at a time." Fitz says to Ward as he holds a piece of rubble in his left hand and a Spectographic Analyser in his right hand.

"Necessary precaution. We don't want anything alien getting in the wrong hands." I state.

"Still, this is definitely the type of work a monkey could easily do." Fitz comments.

"You're our little monkey." Ward smiles at him, and I shake my head lightly with a kind smile on my face just as a cellphone begins to ring, and we all watch Simmons take her phone out of the right back pocket of her trousers with her right hand, and looks at the caller I.D. before ignoring the call.

"Don't give me that look. I'll talk to them when I talk to them." Simmons says to Fitz who is looking at her with a knowing look.

"Talk to who?" I ask her confused as Ward and myself move the empty boxes out of the way from where Fitz is working.

"Mum and Dad. They want explanations and answers for... Well, all this. But I don't have any answers. And, more importantly, I haven't talked to them since I was ill. And if they knew that, they'd be even more terrified. So, you know..." Simmons trails off as her cellphone alerts a new notification, and she looks down at it before continuing "... Why waste any of our time, really?" She asks as she puts her phone back in her right back trouser pocket, and Fitz' Spectographic Analyser beeps a notification.

"Fitz, is that, um..." Simmons trails off as she looks at the rubble. Alien technology?

"Definitely not from here. Another piece of the ship. What are you doing?" Fitz explains and asks Ward as Ward takes the piece of the ship from his with his right hand and walks over to a table to my right where multiple briefcases are open, a few cleansing tin sprays and two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are, and he places it into the briefcases.

"Out of sight..." Ward trails off as he picks up a cleansing spray and sprays over the alien technology "... Out of mind." He puts the cleansing spray down before he closes the briefcase with both hands, and both Fitz and Simmons look a little disappointed that they couldn't study the piece further.

"That's why we're here. Keep everything under control." I say to them before Ward and myself leave to collect more rubble.

(Skip to Trillemarka National Park, Oslo, Norway)

After H.Q. sent us to investigate a National Park where two Park Rangers were attacked, one murdered, and the living Park Ranger, Niels, claimed that the two people, a man and a woman, had cut a tree down and cut a part of the tree in half and the woman had kill the Park Ranger with Inhuman power.

So right now as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents scope out the park, Coulson interrogates Niels and Ward and myself watch Simmons stand infront of the lower trunk of the fallen tree as it lays on an angle going up into the sky as she holds a Three Diemtional Scanner and a Spectographic Analyser in her left hand that she is going to use to send a 3D model to May, Fitz and Skye back at The B.U.S., and Simmons has to walk up the tree trunk as she is determained to do it herself as I stand on her right and Ward stands on her left whilst she has a safety rope attaches to a harness on her connected to a tree branch above.

[3D Dimensional Scanner]

"I can climb it if you want. Just talk me through what to do with the... Doodads. Yeah, it's only about 15 feet." Ward explains to her.

"I'll be fine. I'm-I'm just a bit more wary about the height thing since falling to certain death." Simmons laughs it off warily.

"You're afraid. Shaken up? It's normal. But some feelings will take over if you dwell on them. Especially fear. Now, keep your eyes ahead. Focus on what you like to do best." I explain to her as I take my left hand in her right hand and help her stand up onto the tree trunk.

"Yep. Not falling." Simmons she takes slow steps up the tree trunk, and release my hand when she gets out of reach.

"No, research. You're a scientist. You like to figure things out." I tell her as Ward and myself walk along side her.

"Yes. With my 'doodads'." Simmons agrees as she references to Ward calling her technology equipment 'doodads' earlier.

"I'm curious. Whatever was up in these trees had to be there for centuries, right?" Ward tries to distract her.

"At least a millennium. Radiocarbon-14 dates some of these trees at 9,000 years old." Simmons explains to him as she takes deep breaths and continues to walk up the tree trunk.

"That sounds impossible. Think the tree grew around it?" Ward says to her.

"I'd have to check the dendrochronology first to know for certain." Simmons begins to explains.

"Uh-huh." I agree with what she says.

"But, I mean, the Norway spruce is a rather fast-growing coniferous, and I know you're trying to trick me into going up, but I'm going up anyway, so..." Simmons trials off as she continues to walk up the tree trunk.

"We'll catch you if you fall." Ward assures her before she reaches the part of the tree that was carved out, and she uses the Spectographic Analyser to scan the carvings.

"Oh, um, whatever was in here was definitely not from this world. Fitz, you getting this? It's not Chitauri, is it?" Simmons asks him over the com in the Spectographic Analyser.

"No, no, no. Don't worry. This isn't another viral threat. Um, hang on... Spectrographic signatures match readings from... Thor's hammer. Simmons, whatever was in that tree is Asgardian." Fitz explains to us.

"I-I can see an imprint of what was embedded. Scanning for three-dimensional restoration. Tell me when." Simmons says to him before she scans the imprint with the 3D Dimensional Scanner.

"When." Fitz says before shortly continuing "Um, looks like a staff or a rod. Well crafted. Engraved. I'll convert it, print a 3-D model." Fitz explains to us just as Coulson walks over to Ward and myself and shows us footage on a cellphone in his right hand of a blonde woman using what I looks like a staff to... Harm people as they stand in the middle of a road.

[Jakob Nystrom]

[Petra Larsen]

"Well, I guess we know who they think they are." Coulson says as the footage changes to flames that are burning words into the pavement.

'WE ARE GODS'

['WE ARE GODS']

After Skye researched everything she could find on the two wannabe 'God's', right now Ward, myself, Fitz, Simmons and Skye stand in the lab as Ward begins to explain whom the wannabes are as the wannabes' files' are pulled up the wall computer as a 3D Model of A Third Of The Staff from the tree is on the computer table.

[3D Model of A Third Of The Berserker Staff]

"Jakob Nystrom, 30. Girlfriend, Petra Larsen. Leaders of a Norse Paganist hate group." Ward explains.

"And their numbers are growing, thanks to what happened in Greenwich and thanks to the internet. Yay, internet, she said sarcastically." Skye adds.

"Norse Paganist?" Confused with the group.

"Obsessed with anything derived from Norse mythology. Stories of Asgard." I state.

"And now a weapon." Ward picks up the 3D model of the staff, well a quarter of one side, from the table with both of his hands.

"The scan only accounted for one side. Too much damage to the tree for complete reproduction. Fitz explains as he takes the 3D Model of A Third Of The Staff in both of his hands.

"But see here it's clearly broken on both ends." Simmons points at both ends of the 3D Model of A Third Of The Staff with her right index finger.

"So there are more pieces?" Ward asks them.

"Yeah. Two at least." Fitz states.

"Which means Sid and Nancy may be looking for a complete set. And markings?" I ask them as Coulson and May walk into the lab from the landing bay.

"The Asgardian symbolism. Hard to translate with our limited knowledge." Coulson explains to us as he looks at the carvings on the 3D Model of A Third Of The Staff.

"You should give your buddy The God of Thunder a shout. He gets his power from his hammer, right? What if this is his nail to the hammer?" Skye suggests.

"I already did. Director Fury told me he's off the grid. And if he has a cellphone, we don't have the number." Coulson tells her.

"S.H.I.E.L.D.'s investigations are on the trail of Nystrom and his followers." May adds.

"We're charged with identifying the object and finding any other pieces before they do." Coulson explains our mission.

"They seem to have some advantage. They found this thing in 150 square kilometers of Norwegian forest." I sigh lightly at them.

"Guys. What if it called to them with magic?" Skye smiles excitedly.

"'Called to them'." May says to her incredulously.

"We know it's Asgardian, so the rules are a little bendy here." Skye backs up her suggestion.

"Just because we don't understand something yet doesn't mean we should regress back to the dark ages, talking of magic and fairy tales." Simmons explains to her.

"Actually, that's exactly what we're going to do." Coulson states.

"Excuse me?" Skye asks the same time Simmons asks "Really?"

"When we first found the hammer in New Mexico, I consulted one of the world's leading experts on Norse mythology. Elliot Randolph, a Professor at a university in Seville. We'll leave immediately. Maybe he can tell us more about these markings." Coulson explains to us.

After a few dozen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents found nothing on Baffin Island, where Professor Elliot Randolph said another third of The Staff would be, May and myself had found a location where some deferent Viking Relics are located. Here, in Seville, Spain. And right now May and myself walk into the briefing room where Coulson, Ward and Skye seem to be discussing almost the same subject.

"We found one promising location with Viking relics, El Divino Niño." I state as we walk in.

"A church built on the ruins of an 8th-century crypt built on Roman ruins from 206 B.C." May adds.

"East of a river." Ward continues.

"And lots of bones. Let's see what we can dig up. See what I did there?" Coulson tries to humour all of us with our joke before he seems to have humourd himself before he leaves the briefing room.

(Skip to El Divino Niño, Seville, Spain)

After arriving in El Divino Niño, I sit in the passenger seat of the Truck, Coulson sits in the drivers seat and Fitz sits in the middle back seat as I hold an electronic tablet in my hands whilst Ward and Skye search the Roman crypt ruins.

"Must be nice, have a mandatory nap time." Fitz refers to the empty and quiet streets of the town.

"Siesta isn't mandatory. Just very pleasant." Coulson corrects him.

"How you doing, Agent Ward?" I ask over coms.

"Wishing I was shorter. Nothing yet. All my readings are normal." Ward explains.

"What about you, Skye? Any luck?" Coulson asks her.

"I'm lucky my S.O. volunteered to take the super-creepy hallway instead of the slightly less-creepy dungeon-room place. I got nothing. Sorry, nada." Skye apologises.

"Ward, your spectrograph is reading something near you." Fitz peers over my shoulder at the electronic tablet.

"I don't see anything." Ward tells us.

"Well, it's right in front of you." Fitz leans over my shoulder more, so I hand him the electronic tablet with my right hand and he sits back down "Oh, wait. No. Uh, okay, hold on. It's moving. Northwest." He explains to him.

"Visual contact." Ward states.

"Okay Ward, turn left." Fitz tells him.

"Ran into some unexpected com-" Ward cuts himself off with painful gasps and groans.

"Ward, what's happening?" Coulson asks him confused.

"His device just went down." Fitz shows us the electronic tablet to see Ward is no longer connected through his com.

"Skye, can you get-" Coulson tries to say, but she cuts him off.

"-Already on it..." Skye assures him "... Ward. Are you all right? Hey, hey, hey. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Grant, calm down. Calm down, please. Calm down... Something's wrong with Ward. The staff's gone. Someone took it..." She explains to us "... He says he saw the professor, and then he just disappeared." She explains.

"He can't just disappear. He'll have to turn up some..." Coulson trails off as we climb out of the van and see a car being thrown into the street from the next street over "... Where." He finishes, and I take out my gun out from my right holster.

"There we go. A block South of the church." I call into the car and over the coms on the electronic tablet.

Coulson and myself then run over to the block South of the church from where the car was thrown, and we see Prof. Randolph picking up scattered files from the ground with his back to us, and I raise my gun towards him as he stands up to look at us.

[Professor. Elliot Randolph]

"Professor." Coulson greets him.

"I screwed up." Prof. Randolph admits.

Once Coulson, Ward, myself, Fitz and Skye arrived back to The B.U.S., Coulson had asked me to assist him in interrogating Prof. Randolph whom is in the interrogation room whilst Fitz and Simmons do a full medical check over Ward to try and figure out what had forced Ward to get freaked. And right now I'm standing about five feet away from Coulson as he stands across the table from Prof. Randolph whom is handcuffed to the table as he sits down.

"One of my men is hurt. The staff is gone." Coulson demands answers.

"I didn't want any of that to happen." Prof. Randolph admits.

"What did you want? The staff's power for yourself?" Coulson questions him.

"Nothing like that." Prof. Randolph sighs lightly before continuing "You know, I just wanted to be the first to study it, to prove that the Berserkers were actually here, a part of history. You think about that." He tells us.

"Oh, I'm thinking about it." Coulson assures him.

"How'd they find it?" I speak up as Coulson takes a seat across from Professor. Randolph.

"I have no idea how they found it. They may have the original texts. I wasn't involved. You know, it was just a chance to uncover something that the God's brought down from the heavens." Prof. Randolph explains.

"Aliens brought it. From space. I've spent some one-on-one time with aliens before. Didn't work out too well. So cases like this are personal to me." Coulson explains to him.

"That's all I know." Prof. Randolph admits, and Coulson slowly rises from his seat and walks over to the cell door before opening it with his right hand.

"Get comfortable." Coulson tells Prof. Randolph before he walks out, and I follow in suit before closing the door after me, locking it automatically.

After parting ways with Coulson, I make my way down to the lab to see how Ward is coping with the side effects from the Third of The Berserker Staff as when I passed Fitz and Simmons in the brefing room they said Ward had become very hot-tempered. And as I walk down the staircase to go to the lab, I see Ward in the landing bay with his back to as he trains, punching a boxing bag forcefully whilst listening to music through his earphones as he drips of sweat.

"Ward!" I call, hoping he can hear me over his music, but he doesn't reply "Hey, Ward!" I lightly touch his right shoulder with my right hand, and he swiftly turns around to left hook me in the face, but I duck and dodge it and I take a step to my right.

"You should be more careful." Ward warns me as he takes his right earphone out of his right ear with his right hand.

"I'm fine, thanks... You?" I ask him.

"I'm working it out." Ward begins to punch the boxing bag again with both fists, grunting with every hit as he does so.

"You're punching things. The last thing you need is to punch things." I tell him, and he turns to look at me as he rests his left hand on the boxing bag.

"You got a better idea?" Ward asks me as he breathes heavily.

"Let me help you." I offer my assistance.

"The only help I need is to stop those guys before they hurt somebody else." Ward says before he turns around and begins to punche the boxing bag again with both of his fists.

"Hit me." I sigh at him, and he turns to me confused.

"You do realise you've just contradicted-" Ward tries to say, but I cut him off.

"-Yeah, Yeah. Hit me." I tell him, but he doesn't "Look, I know you've wanted to hit me since the second I stepped onto this B.U.S., so what's stopping you?!" I begin to raise my voice "Show me what you've got, Agent Grant Ward, cause' I'm getting pretty exaughsted of hearing all of these incredible stories you keep telling everyone, that know can seem to clarify. Prove me wrong, Ward." I join my hands behind my back as I put on a cheeky smile, and his nostrils begin to flare, the left side of his mouth begins to twitch and his fists tighten until his knuckles turn white "Hit me!" I shout.

Ward suddenly rages towards me and goes to right hook my in the face, but he raises his elbow and I manage to duck and take two steps to my left and swerve to stand behind him, avoiding the hit, and he turns around to lool at me.

"Again!" I call.

Ward then goes to left high kick me in the abdomen, but I dodge his kick and step behind the boxing bag before right high kicking the boxing bag, pushing it into Ward, making him stumble into L.O.L.A.

"I'd watch that paint job, your pay check won't be able to cover it." I say to him as I continue to keep my hands clasped behind my back, and I glance up onto the upper level of the landing bay to see May, Fitz, Simmons and Skye watching in confusement, although May mostly watches with a neutral emotion.

I then glance back to Ward to see him rage back towards me with his right fist at the ready, and at the last second before he right hooks me in the face, I place my right hand on his outer, lower right arm and my left hand on his inner, upper right arm before pushing down on his lower right arm and throwing him over my head by pushing up on his right upper arm, and when I release him I turn around to see him land on his front and forearms, shaking the entire landing bay for a moment. Ward then places both of his hands, palms faced down, and pushes himself off of the floor before turning to look at me with a cut on the lower right side of his lip, and he wipes his lips with the back of his right hand.

"Isn't that the second time I busted your face?" I ask him before I turn around and walk towards the lab doors.

I then hear one of Ward's sneakers squeak, and I brace myself as I turn around to face Ward, and I'm suddenly thrown against the glass doors of the lab as Ward has his right hand around my throat and he goes to left hook me in the face, but I grab his left fist in my right hand, our hands trembling as we pit our strength against each other, and I clasp onto his right wrist with my left hand.

"Ward-" May tries to say, but I cut her off.

"-Wait." I begin to feel Ward freezing. I then look over Wards posture to see him in a cold sweat, trembling and an uneasiness in his eyes as we make direct eye contact.

"Time to let go, Ward." I choke out my words, but he doesn't release me "Last warning..." I trail off, but his grip only tightens around my throat "... Suit yourself." I gasp.

I then push my left thumb into Wards right thumb joint to dislocated it, and his grip loosens around my throat so I double high kick him in the upper chest, making us release our grip on each other as he stumbles backwards into the boxing bag as I land on my feet. Ward then looks back up at me and maintains eye contact, ready to keep fighting.

"Don't even bother." I sigh at him.

"You told me to hit you." Ward goes to left hook me in the face again, but I place my left hand on his inner lower left arm and my right hand on his left shoulder before twisting his left wrist, making face away from me before I high right kick him in the back, sending him stumbling back into the boxing bag, and he latches onto the boxing bag to maintain stability.

"Didn't think you would actually do it. I thought we were friends?" I take two steps towards him "Alright... From the way I see it The Beserker Staff gave you all of this adrenaline and you're deciding to use it so you can lash out on whatever personal problems you've put up with throughout your life, and no one needs that right now. We can't afford it. So pull your crap together, control it and use it for something useful, save it for the real enemy. Your team needs you right now, Ward." I explain to him, he begins to laugh light-heartedly.

"Great speech, but who are you to give me orders, huh? This isn't your precinct, you don't get to tell me what to do." Ward takes a few strides towards me.

"No, but I do." Someone speaks up, and we both look over to the upper deck to see May, Fitz, Simmons and Skye looking at Coulson who seems to of just arrived "Agent Johnson is right, Ward. Whatever is going on with you, it's The Berserker Staff and the adrenalin will wear off. So like she said, pull your crap together." He tells Ward before leaving. I then glance back up at Ward to see his lip dripping of blood as he look off to where Coulson left, annoyed.

"You should get that cleaned up." I refer to his burst lip before I head up the staircase, not second glancing anyone as I pass them.

As I stand alone in the briefing room alone whilst I look over all of the information that we have on Prof. Rudolph, Jakob Nystrom and Petra Larson on the computer table, and I glance up at the wall computer  where live footage of Prof. Randolph is in the interrogation room, and someone joins him.

"What the hell is he doing?" I ask confused.

"Hmm?" Simmons asks me as she, Fitz and Skye walks into the brefing room.

"Ward." I sigh annoyed and confused as he closes the door after himself.

"His adrenalin is still high, who knows what hell do." Fitz states, and I go to walk to the I terrogation room when Coulson and May walk into the brefing room before I can leave.

"I told him to go in. He has a lot of anger, he should get some of it out." Coulson tells us.

"You need to start talking." Ward tells Prof. Rudolph.

"I told Agent Coulson everything I know." Prof. Rudolph states.

"You're lying. Tell me what that thing did to me and how to fix it." Ward demands.

"I swear I don't know." Prof. Rudolph glances up at him.

"Okay, then." Ward nods before he takes out a pocket knife with his right hand from his back right trouser pocket, and he goes to stab Prof. Rudolph in the chest, so I go to run into the interrogation room, but May stands in my way.

"Look." May motions to the wall computer, and I look to the wall computer accusingly only to lool at it confused as Prof. Rudolph holds the blade of Ward's pocket knife in his right hand. Prof. Rudolph then releases the blade on the pocket knife, revealing the blade to be wielded into an uneven shape, and Prof. Rudolph has ahead a drop of blood from the blade.

"My God..." I trail off in confusement and shock.

"God would be the correct word, yes." Coulson says to me before he heads to the interrogation room.

May, myself, Fitz, Simmons and Skye then watch as Ward takes a few steps away from Prof. Rudolph with the now disfigured hand knife in his right hand. Coulson then enters the interrogation room, and Prof. Rudolph looks directly at Coulson as he closes the door behind himself.

"You were right. He's Asgardian." Ward says to Coulson. Asgardian?

"Good thing. Otherwise, that would have been awfully embarrassing." Coulson admits.

"Okay, I have to know. How did you figure me out?" Prof. Rudolph asks Coulson intrigued as he rips his handcuffs off as if they're made out of paper.

"Did the math. One, you're not the first Asgardian I've had in custody. You guys don't flinch or panic in captivity. Two, a Waterfield 44? On a lit Professor's salary? I don't think so. And lastly, when I tell someone I've had some one-on-one time with an alien, they tend to be a little curious." Coulson explains to Prof. Rudolph.

"Well, you're certainly more observant than most, Agent Coulson." Prof. Rudolph comments.

"So, you're the Asgardian warrior who stayed." Coulson says to Prof. Rudolph.

"Please don't tell anyone." Prof. Rudolph says to Coulson with a slight look of plead.

"I had no clue. Did you?" Fitz smiles in amazement at Simmons who shakes her head with the same smile, no "Hidden in plain sight... An actual Asgardian. Brilliant." He continues to smile.

"How long do you suppose he's been on our planet?" Skye asks them.

"A thousand years. Maybe more. If we could just cut him open a little bit, get some tissue samples, maybe some bodily fluids, we could find out." Simmons explains.

"Or we could just ask him, Simmons." I smile at her, and she nods and smiles back.

"This is way, way better than the History channel. I mean, this guy has lived through all the scary stuff... The crusades, the black death, disco." Skye lists as May types on the computer table.

"What are you doing?" I ask May confused.

"Sealing the interrogation-room door. Coulson's orders." May states.

"Ah, locking me in. Well, I've been in tighter spots." Prof. Rudolph admits.

"This room is made of a silicon carbide-coated Vibranium alloy. Meant for prisoners like yourself." Ward smiles as he explains.

"But you're in here, too. And eventually, somebody will open that door." Prof. Rudolph smiles back as he points at the door.

"Not if I tell them not to. So, the myth is your autobiography." Coulson says to him.

"I didn't write it. I didn't want anyone to know about me. Then I had to open my big mouth." Prof. Rudolph sighs annoyed with himself.

"Were you captured? Tortured?" Ward questions Prof. Rudolph.

"Horny. I met a French girl in 1546. Ah, she loved stories. So... I told her a great one, all about the peaceful Asgardian warrior who stayed. Now, how was I to know her brother the priest would write it all down and turn it into, I don't know, a thing?" Prof. Rudolph explains.

"Do you know Thor?" Coulson asks him.

"Oh, sure, I spent all my days palling around with the future King of Asgard. No, I don't know Thor. I was a mason. I broke rocks. Mm-hmm." Prof. Rudolph chuckles light-heartedly "For thousands of years. If you can imagine that. So when they came, asking for people to fight, yes, of course I signed up. I think, really, I just wanted to travel." He admits.

"But you had the staff." Ward states.

"I hated that thing. Other guys loved all the power that comes with the rage. No, I didn't like it at all. And you don't, either, it seems." Prof. Rudolph rests his elbows forward on the table as he looks at Ward with a slight look of discomfort across his face.

"What did it do to me?" Ward asks a little less harsher from when he was previously questioning Prof. Rudolph.

"It shines a light into your dark places. Doesn't matter if you're human, Asgardian. The effect is the same... Unpleasant." Prof. Rudolph explains.

"'Shines a light'? That's no explanation." Simmons states.

"Quiet, I want to hear this." I tell her as continue to watch Coulson, Ward and Prof. Rudolph, and I feel Fitz, Simmons and Skye's eyes on me, and I look at them confused "What?" I ask them confused before I look back to Coulson, Ward and Prof. Rudolph.

"It was forged from a rare metal and reacts to whoever is holding it. Or interacts. I went to such great lengths to make sure that the staff wasn't found. Unfortunately, since the myth was written down, people have been searching for it for centuries." Prof. Rudolph explains.

"I need your help to stop them before they get the last piece of your staff." Coulson says to Prof. Rudolph.

"Oh, I am a pacifist now." Prof. Rudolph states.

"And you don't want to risk your identity being discovered." Coulson counters.

"Listen, I wouldn't worry too much about these angry youths. They always calm down, and eventually, they die of old age. And that is one of the pleasant aspects of life here. Everything changes." Prof. Rudolph explains.

"I'll tell you what's gonna change, your anonymity... Unless you help up find the final piece of your staff. You may not know Thor. But I do." Coulson blackmails Prof. Rudolph before we all wait patiently for an answer.

"... My first love on this planet was Ireland. There was a monastery, and the monks gave me a nice, warm place to sleep, some soup, and some mulled wine." Prof. Rudolph explains.

"'Near god.'" Coulson says a part of the riddle from the manuscript Prof. Rudolph showed us about 'The Asgardian who stayed behind'.

After arriving in Emerald Ilse, I check my automatics before heading down to the the landing bay, and I arrive outside if the lab, where the lab doors are open, and Ward and Prof. Rudolph are standing in front of the lab table where an evidence case is open, revealing Prof. Rudolph's personal belongings, which he collects one individually at a time with both hands.

"... What about... The other effects?" Ward asks Prof. Rudolph, possible about The Berserker Staff.

"Oh, that dark, nasty ache in the pit of your stomach, the rage in your chest that makes you feel as if your heart's about to explode? It's worse on humans. But give it a few decades, and it'll wear off, too." Prof. Rudolph assures him.

"Great." Ward slams the case shut before storming past me, hitting me roughly with his shoulder left shoulder against my left shoulder as he walks past me and up the staircase.

(Skip to The Local Monastery, Emerald Ilse, Ireland)

After arriving at The Local Monastery in Emerald Ilse, Prof. Rudolph guides Coulson, May, Ward, myself, Fitz, Simmons and Skye through the back door, fire exit, of the Monastery, and he leads us near the podium.

"Well, it's been a while. I wonder..." Prof. Rudolph trails off as we near the oodium, and an old, relic cuboid box with mulitple carvings on it ".. Ah, yes. There it is. Still here." He says as we step closer to see an open and old, relic book on a stand with a picture that looks like a younger Prof. Rudolph "Well, the nose isn't quite right, but..." He trails off, not really caring.

"That's you?" Fitz asks Prof. Rudolph in surprise.

"Yeah. They venerated me a bit as a saint." Prof. Rudolph tells us.

"They're idiots." I state as I turn to the front of The Monastery, on guard along with Ward and May.

"I second that." Ward agrees with me.

"Where's the staff?" I ask Prof. Rudolph.

"It's upstairs." Prof. Rudolph tells us.

Prof. Rudolph then leads Coulson, May, Ward, myself, Fitz, Simmons and Skye up to the upper level of The Monastery.

"It's quiet." May states confused and wary.

"Why do you think I trusted them with my secret? They take a vow of silence." Prof. Rudolph explains as he walks over to a table, and he crouches down in front of it before he removes the face of the table, revealing an empty space.

"But when you get them talking... They squeal." A man appears a few feet away behind a wooden collum beside the table with another Third of The Berserker Staff in his left fist, and it looks to be the top of the staff and another Third of The Berserker Staff in his right fist, and it looks to me the bottom of the staff. Jakob Nystrom.

[Two Third Of The Berserker Staff]

Nystrom then takes a Third of The Berserker Staff before embedding it into Prof. Rudolph's heart, so I go to take my gun out of my right holster, but Nystrom suddenly right hook me in the abdomen with incredible strength, sending me off of my feet and over the balcony. I then crash into the left side of the church and into the row of chairs on the ground floor, breaking them as I land on my back with gritted teeth, my eyes closed and a groan of pain as a metalic taste grows in my mouth. I then hear light screaming, so I open my eyes and I see Ward, whom is holding a Third of The Berserker Staff in his right hand, the end of The Berserker Staff, and Nystrom, who is holding a Third of The Berserker Staff in his left hand, the top of The Berserker Staff, falling towards me, so I roll twice to my right and onto my stomach, and I spit a small splatter of blood from my mouth whilst I feel burning, shooting pains in my spine.

I then grip onto a chair to my left with both of my hands, and I slowly stand up and look to Ward and Nystrom to see Nystrom standing as he picks up Ward from the ground by gripping onto the front of Wards shirt before smashing him down into the right side of the church and into the row of chairs, Ward smashing the chairs from beneath him as he lands on his stomach. Nystrom then picks Ward up again, but their time by the back of his shirt with both of his hands before he throws him into a wooden beam, about ten feet to his right.

Ward's eyes then shoot wide open and flags in anger, and he slowly stands up as Nystrom walks over to him and Ward uses a Third of The Berserker Staff and swings it against Nystrom's back, sending him to his knees on the floor, and Nystrom drops a Third of The Berserker Staff. Ward then right kicks Nystrom in the abdomen, sending Nystrom flying in the right left side if the church and into the brick wall.

"Put the staff down, Ward." I shakily stand in my feet from the shooting pains in my back, and I rest my left hand on my Night-night gun in my left holster.

"Grant, drop the staff." Skye tells Ward and she May arrive to the podium of The Monastery from the upper level.

"Get away from me." Ward grunts.

"Ward." I warn him as I take out my gun from my right holster and aim to the floor with both of my hands.

"Agent Ward! This isn't you." Skye says to him.

"Get back." Ward tells us as about a dozen people suddenly enter the church through the front door, and May takes Skye by the upper right arm with her right hand and pulls her backwards on the podium in precaution. Ward then picks up the Third of The Berserker Staff that Nystrom had dropped with his left hand, and a pain washes over Wards face as the Third of The Berserker Staff in his left hand glows momentarily "Get back." He tells me.

"I'm not going to let you do this alone." I say to him as I clock my gun with my left hand, and he looks at me in a cold sweat and breathless "I'll your cover." I assure him, and he nods understandingly before he charges at the group of people in frustration.

Ward then attacks three of the dozen people, and I fire swiftly at six different men in the chest, momentarily mobilising them, and Ward then takes out the three last men. Two by smashing a Third of The Berserker Staff in each of their faces, and the last by sweeping a Third of The Berserker Staff in his left hand at the mans' kneecaps before swinging a Third of The Berserker Staff in his right hand against the back on the mans' head. Ward then collapses to his knees, panting breathlessly as he drops the two Thirds of The Berserker Staff to either side of him on the floor. Skye then rushes over to Ward as I put my Night-night gun back into my left holster with my left hand, and I walk after Skye.

"Oh, my god. Are you okay..? Come here." Skye tells Ward as she takes his right lower arm with both of her hands and brings it around her shoulders and helps him stand up.

We then all hear the front of the church doors re-open and close, and we all look up to see Larsen holding the Third and final piece of The Berserker Staff in her right hand that was originally hidden in The Trillemarka National Park, and another man. Larsen and the other man then looks to their right at an unconcious Nystrom, and they both rush to Nystrom's aid.

[A Third of The Berserker Staff]

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." Skye sighs in annoyance.

Ward then struggles to lift himself off from Skye's assistance as he reaches for the Third of The Berserker Staff to his right on thr floor with his right hand, but I step in and take his weak, right hand in my right hand.

"This time, let me really help." I show him a kind smile, and he looks up at me hesitant and with pain before he slowly nods weakly.

"Okay, come on." Skye helps Ward walk backwards over to the Podium.

I then turn to look back towards Larsen to see her glaring towards me as she slowly walks back to the front door of the Monastery. Without hesitation, I then grasp the Third of The Berserker Staff to my right on the floor in my right hand and the Third of The Berserker Staff to my left on the floor in my left hand, and I watch both of th Thirds of The Berserker Staff in my hands glow it's Asgardian symbols and a rush of strength... And pain floods through me, and I close my eyes momentarily as old, tortured images flood my mind.

I then sense fast paced footsteps coming from ahead of me, and I shoot my eyes wide open as I use the Third of The Berserker Staff in my right hand to swing it to my right as I stand up, sending the man, whom came with Larsen, up and crashing through the railings of the upper level of the Monastery. Petra then charges at me with a Third of The Berserker Staff in her right hand and goes to hit me in the left side of the head with it, but I block her hit by crossing the two Thirds of The Berserker Staff in my hands.

I then twist the Third of The Berserker Staff that she holds with the two Thirds of The Berserker Staff that I hold, making the Third of The Berserker Staff Larsen holds slip out of her grasp and I throw it in the air with the two Thirds of The Berserker Staff I have before catching the Third of The Berserker Staff with the two that I hold, and the joints glow as it forms it into its Orignal Berserker Staff form. I then twirl The Berserker Staff in my right hand using my left hand before using my right hand two wield the staff across the front of her shins, knocking her forward so she lands stomach.

[The Berserker Staff]

"Little tip..." I trail off as I stand my right foot on her back to keep her down and then slam the staff into the floor to my right, wedging it in the floor "... Don't wield power your species are not meant to control." I tell her as she groans in annoyance and defeat.

After about a dozen S.H.I.E.L.D Agents arrived to arrest Nystrom, Larsen and their Norse Paganist friends, I stand on the left side of the front Monastery as I land my back against the front row of seats as I look at The Berserker Staff lightly as I think about what it made me remember, and Coulson and Prof. Rudolph talk at the front of the Monastery whilst May, Ward, Fitz, Simmons and Skye stand and talk on the Podium, and Ward walks over to me and stands on my right before he leans his back on the seats beside me.

"When you held it, did you see anything?" I feel Ward looks at me, but I don't look back as I nod once, curtly "Then how? How did you hold all three?" He asks me confused.

"Because I see it every day." I glance up at him and admit.

I then walk past Ward and over to The Berserker Staff that still remains embedded in the floor, and I grab the centre of it with my right, making it's Asgardian symbols glow a bright amber momentarily before it stops, and I rip it out of the ground. I then focus carefully as I look at The Berserker Staff, and I watch all of the Berserker Staff's Asgardian symbols glow, and The Berserker Staff slowly minuses it's length from its original three metres to one metre and a half before the glowing stops. I then wall over to Coulson and Prof. Rudolph whom are both looking at me as I walk over to them.

"My advice: More pieces, safer and wider locations or travel size." I suggest to Prof. Rudolph with a kind smile, and he smiles back and nods as he takes the staff from me with his right hand before he turns to Coulson.

"Agent Coulson, would you mind if I stole your agent away for a moment?" Prof. Rudolph asks Coulson, and we both look at Prof. Rudolph confused.

"Sure." Coulson nods curtly before he walks away from us and towards the front of the Monastery.

"What do you need, Professor?" I show him a kind smile.

"I think I found the Staff's safe location." Prof. Rudolph holds the staff of to me.

"Thanks... But no thanks." I thank him, and he looks at me confused.

"Why turn down the opportunity, I haven't seen anyone control the staff instead of the staff controlling them in a thousand years. The way your eyes glows the colour of the Staff showed you would be a perfect Protector." Prof. Rudolph explains to me.

[Lyra's Amber Eyes]

"My eyes glowed?" I ask him confused.

"It means your one of the few people in the realms that The Berserker Staff can't wield, but whom can wield The Berserker Staff." Prof. Rudolph explains to me, and I nod curtly as I begin to understand.

"... I already have enough going on in my life, and I don't think I should add mystical Asgardian staff to the list." I admit to him as I glance over to where Skye is talking to Coulson, May, Ward, Fitz and Simmons.

"You won't have to protect her forever." Prof. Rudolph assures me.

"Of course I do, she's my baby sister. I'm all she has." I explain to him.

"Very well..." Prof. Rudolph sighs as he drops his hand holding the staff "... It has been an honor meeting someone so remarkable that you can only meet maybe once in a life time, Agent Johnson. The offer will always be on the table." He holds his left hand out to shake mine, and I shake his with my left hand.

"Same here." I show him a curt nod and a kind smile.

(Skip to Ireland, Emerald Ilse, The Lanculca Hotel)

After Coulson said we could all bunk in a Hotel for tonight and take off tomorrow morning, I walk to my room with a bottle of Whiskey in my right hand and unlock my door with a key card in my left hand before glancing up the hallway to my right and see Ward unlocking his door with a key card in his right hand and is now looking at me. I then slowly walk into my room, but leave the door open a little as an invitation.
