(California, The B.U.S.)

Lyra's POV.

[Lyra's Outfit]

As Skye and myself make our way on the B.U.S. in California, and Skye is carrying Two backpacks around her shoulders with a duffle bag and a cardboard box full of god-knows-what as I carry my one duffle bag, we pass multiple agents working in and around The B.U.S.

"You didn't need to bring three bags full of clothes and lots of junk from your van you know." I point out to Skye as we walk up the landing bay.

"Well you didn't need to bring only one duffle bag filled with clothes and five handguns." Skye counters.

"The guns are specialised for me personally, I wasn't just gonna leave them in my apartment unsupervised." I tell her incrediously.

"What about Ms. March across the hall?" Skye asks me, and I shake my head, no.

"No way, she forgets that she has a cat nearly five times a day. I wouldn't even let her look after a slice of bread." I tell her, and Skye laughs at my explanation, and we see Simmons and Fitz walk down the spiral staircase outside of their lab.

"Oh, Agent Coulson told us the news. What a wonderful surprise. Isn't it, Fitz?" Simmons smiles at Fitz.

"Yeah. No, it's wonderful. Yeah, a surprise." Fitz says as he seems a little awkward..

"You must be very excited." Simmons says to us.

"Yep, first day of school." Skye says as she looks all the tech equipment on The B.U.S.

"Yeah, just like being at work. Although I was co-captain at my precinct, had a 20x20 feet long office and we were in a building, not on a plane." I tell them and Fitz looks at me impressed.

"You were captain of your own precinct after only seven years in the force? Impressive." Fitz tells me excitedly impressed.

"Co-captain, I had a frenemy of sorts who was at the precinct who worked there three years longer than me. He definitely wasn't happy when were made co-captains, wouldn't talk to me for at least a week." I explain to them.

"Until a month later they started seeing each other." Skye buts into my story.

"Shut up." I shove her left shoulder with my right shoulder, and she nearly drops everything.

"Wheels up in two! Lock it or lose it!" An agent shouts as many of the agents I don't recognise run off the landing bay.

"What's that mean?" Skye asks Fitz and Simmons confused.

"No backing out now." Simmons tells us, and the landing bay begins to close "Let's find a bunk for our guests." She suggests.

"Oh, oh, yeah, there's only two left, one is right next to mine, and the other is next to Wards." Fitz tells us as we walk up the spiral staircase.

"Dib's on the bunk next to Fitz." Skye rushes her words, and I chuckle lightly at her childish behaviour "What? Fitz seems nicer than Ward. Plus I'm giving you the opportunity to torment Ward." She tells me, and I continue to smile.

"That is a plus." I sum up as we approach the lounge leading into two seperate cooridoors with three doors in each of them.

"Me and Fitz need to get back to work, but finding your bunks shoulder be easy. Skye, yours is on the far left, and Lyra, yours is on the close right." Simmons tells us before her and Fitz walk off.

"Have fun unpacking all those bags." I tell my sister, and I catch her little Hawaiian doll that drops from her box "See you later." I tell her as I put it back in the box before I walk away to my bunk.

After I find my bunk, I set my duffle bag down on my single bed which has thick sheets before looking at the built in wardrobe at the foot of the bed with a small TV/ computer above it, and there is also a small desk at the right head side of the bed. For the size of this B.U.S., I thought we'd have bigger bunks.

[Lyra's Bunk]

I then sit to the left of my duffle bag with my right leg tucked under my body, and I unzip my duffle bag to reveal five different automatics placed upon my clothes, shoes and a few other little things.

"Why all the guns?" I hear Ward ask, and I turn around to see him looing at my automatics in my duffle by as he leans his right side on the right side of my open bunk door with his arms crossed over his abdomen.

"I had these personally made for me when I was on the force. All perfectly weighted and constructed for me to aim and shoot better at a larger distance." I tell him as I pick up my M9 with my right hand.

"May I?" Ward asks me, and I hold the automatic out to him, and he takes it with his rght hand, and he weights in in his hand "Almost weightless." He says aloud.

"And instead of its maximum of 12 bullets, holds 16." I tell him before he opens to clip "Check the pressure and aim." I suggest.

Ward the glances at me before he hands me the cup with his left hand, and I take it with my right hand before entering the bullets into my left hand, and I hand him back the clip and he take it back with his left hand before placing it back in the automatic. Ward then uses both hands to aim at the window in my bunk, and he pulls the trigger before smiling slightly, and he drops his aim.

"Borrow it, I prefer my M1911." I tell him as I hand him the bullets in his left hand "Just don't lose it, it probably costs more than Coulson's plane insurance." I tell him.

"I wouldn't bet on that." Ward says to me.

"Bet on what?" Coulson asks us as he walks up from behind Ward.

"Sweet ride." I tell him as Ward walks away from the conversation.

"I earned a little goodwill from Director Fury when I got hit right before the battle of New York." Coulson explains as I stand up.

"You took a bullet? Been there, don't that... Never got a plane." I admit to him as we both walk towards the lounge.

"An Asgardian stabbed me through the heart with a Chitauri scepter. The effect was similar to all those combined." Coulson explains to me... Wow "Got a few weeks' R&R and this plane. Had it completely refurbished. Studs up, spared no expense." He explains to me.

"That would get you a plane, alright." I sigh lightly before we hear the engines rev and the turbines spin.

"Buckle up." Coulson tells me as he glances at a side window, and were taking off from the runway.

"I don't even know where we're going." I say to him.

"Peru. That's where the 0-8-4 was reported." Coulson tells me.

"An 0-8-4 just like in the force?" I ask him for assurance.

"Little different than just an unknown object. An object of unknown origin." Coulson tells me. Unkown origin?

"Team goes in, determines if it's useful or if it poses a threat." I state, and he nods his head, yes.

"Last one turned out to be pretty interesting." Coulson states.

"And what was the last one?" I ask him curious.

"A hammer." Coulson states.

"Bob's or Manny's?" I ask him, and he smiles at my joke.

"The god of thunder's." Coulson states.

(Skip to an Incan Archaeological Site in Llactapata, Peru)

After arriving in Llactapata Peru Coulson, myself, May, Ward, Skye, Fitz and Simmons make our way through the jungle and towards the Incan Archaeological Site, and Fitz and Simmons are talking about how excited they are.

"I would love to see a Capuchin in the wild. Maybe even a yellow-tailed woolly monkey." Fitz says to Simmons as they walk in front of me, with Ward and May in front of them and Skye and Coulson behind me.

"Yeah, and close to 200 species of snakes. The Shushupe has a fascinating venom. It's neurotoxic, proteolytic, and hemolytic." Simmons explains excitesly, and Fitz looks as if he is giving this mission a second thought.

"That's fascinating." Fitz says nervously.

"Yeah. Oh. No, I'd be much more concerned with earthquakes, Malah. There's no vaccine for dengue fever. Oh, look at this." Simmons says as they begin to talk about a rare plant and begin to not understand anything they say.

"We should warn the people who live around here if the 0-8-4 is dangerous." Skye speaks up to Coulson.

"They're already dealing with anti-mining rebels and the shining path guerrillas." I tell her as I researched the area before we landed.

"I could post something." Skye suggests again.

"Remember the panic when that anti-matter meteor splashed down just off the coast of Miami, nearly devoured the city?" Coulson asks her.

"No." Skye says confused.

"Precisely. Because we kept it quiet and contained." Coulson states.

"So, what are me and Lyra doing?" Skye asks him, and I glance over my right shoulder at Coulson and Skye as I continue down the makeshift path.

"Well, if it gets out, I might need you to create some kind of diversion, put the public on the wrong scent." Coulson explains Skye's job.

"So everything that I'm against." Skye asks him.

"Yep. And for Lyra, she has experience with combat training and is one of the best weapons, field, combat, intellectual people I have ever come across, and that excludes a few S.H.I.E.L.D. agents." Coulson complements me as we all finally find ourselves in front of the Incan Temple, and a man looking up at the temple suddenly turns to us in suprise "Good morning, Professor. I'm Agent Coulson with S.H.I.E.L.D. I understand you've made an interesting discovery." He greets the man in front of us.

"I-I'm not sure how to explain it. This temple dates back at least 500 years. It's filled with pre-Incan artifacts. One of them is impossible and looks like it might be dangerous." The professor sighs.

"Well, that's why we're here. Ward and May, stay out front. And Lyra, search the perimeter." Coulson gives us our orders

"Yes, sir." I say to Coulson before I begin my perimeter search around the temple by heading counter-clockwise.

As I do my perimeter search, I come near to the far right corner of the temple when I see light movement in the jungle. I then taker a closer look , suspecting just a few animals, but I then see two men in camoflage. I then swiftly take my gun out from its holster and aim it at the men with both of my hands, and they suddenly draw their guns and aim them at me.

"Baja tu arma [Lower you weapon]." One of the men speak in Spanish.

"Quién eres tú [Who are you]?" I ask them, and but they dont answer "So your the bad guy's, got it." I say aloud before high right licking and I knock a gun before knocking the gun out of one of the men's hands before I hit him with the back of my gun, knocking him unconscious as he falls to the ground. The other man then goes to shoot me, but I fire at him first in the chest, and he falls backwards as he drops his gun, revealing I only shot him in a bulletproof vest.

"Levántate [Get up]." I tell him, and the man slowlyruses from the ground, and he shares his hands in surrender "Al frente del templo, ahora [To the front of the temple, now]." I tell him as I motion with my gun towards the front of the temple, and he walks ahead of me as I keep my gun on him.

"Sir?" I hear Ward say over my com..

"Go." Coulson tells him.

"We have a situation. Lots of rebels in this area. Not enough gunfire." Ward tells him.

"I have one knocked out and I have the ither coming around with me now." I tell them.

"I'm on my way." Coulson tells us.

Myself and the man then arrive around the from of the temple to see both May and Ward with their automatics aimed a few dozen rebels with Jeeps whom are mirroring their actions.

"En el piso [On the ground]." I tell the man I have in front of me, and he slowly gets on his knees before placing his hands behind his head as Coulson walks out of the temple.

"Buenos días. Soy el agente Coulson.
[Good morning. I'm Agent Coulson]." Coulson says to all of the rebels in Spanish as he walks down the temple steps, and a woman with brown eyes and brown hair with sunglasses steps out of a Jeep and looks to Coulson.

[Camilla Reyes]

"We are here on a matter of international security. Phillip?" The woman asks Coulson as she takes her glasses off.

"Camilla?" Coulson asks her confused. They know each other?

"Do you mind?" Camilla asks as she refers to May, myself and Ward whom have are automatics aimed to her rebels and vice versa.

"After you." Coulson tells her, and Camilla hesitantly turns to her men.

"Armas más bajas [Lower weapons]." Camilla tells her men in Spanish.

"Sí, Comandante. [Yes, commande]." One of her men say as they all lower their weapons the same time as us, and I'd know that voice from anywhere.

"Aaron?" I barely whisper, and I look in his direction to see him looking straight at me.

[Aaron Johnson]

"And now for a proper hello." Camilla says as she walks over to coulson, and she gives him a light kiss on his left cheek.

"Comandante [Commander], a promotion. Congratulations." Coulson tells her.

"Three years ago. But thank you." Camilla corrects him.

"Agent Melinda May, Agent Grant Ward, Lyra Johnson, this is comandante [Commander] Camilla Reyes. She's with the Policía Militar del Perú [Police Military of Peru]. We used to work together back in the day." Coulson introduces us, but I don't take my eyes off Aaron, and he mirrors my actions.

"It seems your trainee and one of my men already know each other." Camilla says, and I look away from Aaron to see Camilla is gesturing to mine and Aaron's stare down.

"Ex-co-captains from the force, ma'am." Aaron tells her in English.

"Ward, let the team know everything's okay." Coulson tells Ward, and Ward hesitantly heads inside as Coulson continues to talk to Camilla. I then look over to Aaron as he talks to some of the other men before walking over to me.

"S.H.I.E.L.D.? So that's where you've been the past three months." Aaron says to me, and I sigh lightly.

"Not that it's any of your business, but no. I only just started today as a trainee with my sister." I explain to him "I thought you would be back in New York, being the only captain of the precinct." I say slightly confused.

"What can I say, I missed my partner." Aaron confesses, and I turn to face him, but slightly look up since he is taller.

"And I told you, I like to work alone." I tell him with a light glare.

"I didn't mean detective partner." Aaron looks down at me, and my glare softens.

Suddenly, rebels descend from the shadows of the jungle and start to fire on us, so Aaron pulls us behind a Jeep as he takes my right upper arm I his left hand, I pull myself out of his grip.

"I can take care of myself." I tell him as we begin to fire using our automatics at the rebels, and we use the Jeep as cover.

"I can see that." Aaron smiles down at me, and I roll my eyes lightly.

"Stay focused." I tell him with a small smile as we continue to shoot "I need to get to my sister, my team." I tell him as take full cover and stop shooting.

"I think your friend is taking care of that." Aaron says to me, and I keep over to hood of the Jeep to see Ward sprint through the war scene before he edges some type of spear into the ground before sprinting for cover behind a Jeep.

"Get down." I tell him before we take cover, and a we feel a shockwave of an earthquake flow from underneath us. We then heart a honking of a car, and we both look over the Jeep to see all of the Rebels on the ground in pain and anguish as May has just pulled up in a truck as Skye, Fitz, Simmons, Coulson and Camilla with Ward running out of hiding.

[S.H.I.E.L.D. Truck]

"Let's go." I tell Aaron, and we meet up with Skye, Ward, Fitz, Simmons, Coulson and Camilla before Coulson and Camilla climb in the front of the truck with May and the rest of us climb into the back before May drives off.

After arriving back at The B.U.S. with Camilla Reyes and her team safely following us in tow, right now Skye, myself, Ward, Fitz and Simmons are gathered in the lab around the 0-8-4 that Ward decided to rip out of the temple before we escaped the rebels.

[The 0-8-4]

"He is... Wow." Simmons speaks up, I look over to see her looking through the closed lab doors at Aaron and a few of Reyes' men whom are are standing on the landing bay.

"Can they join our team?" Skye asks us.

"Can we act proffessional please?" Ward asks Simmons and Skye.

"I don't understand how you could break up with that piece of-" Skye tries to say, Fitz cuts her off.

"-He was your boyfriend?" Fitz asks incredulously.

"We didn't date." I state.

"They did the dirty instead." Skye speaks up.

"Why didn't you date him?" Simmons asks me confused.

"I dating is a big commitment, and I already have a big one to start with." I sigh as I glance at Skye and then the 0-8-4 "Now, The 0-8-4?" I ask Fitz and Simmons.

"As I said earlier, this device has a high-frequency, fluctuating, sub-material compression-" Fitz tries to explain, but Ward cut's him off.

"-Fitz, in English." Ward tells him.

"The 0-8-4 is fueled by tesseract technology. H.Y.D.R.A.. World War II. Captain America." Simmons sums up, but Fitz doesn't seem like he wants to let go from when Ward had cut him off.

"Are you mental? I did explain in great detail exactly what I meant, using the queen's bloody English!" Fitz argues with Ward.

"I use normal English words like 'duck' and 'run' and 'might blow us to pieces'." Ward tells Fitz.

"Oh. Oh! Well, congratulations, Agent Ward. You managed to string three words together in a sentence." Fitz applauses him sarcastically, which I honestly find a little funny.

"Don't understand anything you are saying!" Ward says like a child.

"Do we have a problem in here?" Coulson asks as he walks into the lab.

"No, sir. Just working on our communication. Not everyone was prepared for a firefight." Ward refers to Fitz.

"We got out, didn't lose anyone, saved a few of theirs. I'd say we did all right. Anything else?" Coulson asks us, and Skye steps up.

"Uh, yeah. I have a small question. I'm not sure about Lyra, but I've been feeling like the tagalong hayseed rookie, but now I get the sense that Ward doesn't know which one's Simmons and which one's Fitz, and they've seen even less gunfire than me, and I'm no rocket scientist, but is this your first mission together?" Skye asks them.

"No. Of course not." Ward tells her.

"It's our second." Simmons speaks up.

"Me and Lyra were your first? That's sweet." Skye says amused, but I can tell she's actually terrified.

"You're amused?" Ward asks her.

"I'm terrified. I am in way over my head, but I have been on this team just as long as any of you. I might as well be team captain." Skye admits, but she scoffs as everyone's face becomes considerate to the statement "I was joking, but maybe that's not a bad idea, because these guys do not like each other much." She adds.

"This isn't about that. I'm a specialist. Today, I could have eliminated the enemy threat myself if I was working alone, but I had non-combat-ready agents-" Ward tries to say, but Fitz cuts him off.

"Whoa, whoa. Wait. You work alone? So typical. Who do you think designs your equipment?" Fitz asks him.

"Or the polymers for your weaponry?" Simmons adds.

"Yeah. People like us do it." Fitz gestures between himself and Simmons.

"Try going into the field with just your bare bum." Ward tells them.

"See them proving the point Skye just made?" I ask Coulson.

"You're not wrong. We still need to iron out the kinks. But, Ward, you can speak six languages. Lyra, you could possibly be a better agent than Ward if you got S.H.I.E.L.D. training. Simmons, you have two PhDs in fields I can't pronounce, and, Fitz, you are a rocket scientist. So work it out." Coulson tells us before leaving. I then turn to see Skye a little upset before she leaves too, so I follow her.

"Skye." I call for her when I catch up to her in the lounge.

"What, Lyra? Just go talk to Ward or something because at least you two can exchange conversations that you both find interesting, unlike me who is clearly not needed on this team." Skye tells me before she storms away from me, and I sigh in frustration running my hands through my hair.

"You gonna be alright?" I hear Aaron ask me, and I turn to see him leaning on one of the walls probably just seeing Skye blow up, and I drop my hands from my hair.

"Yeah. She'll be fine in a few hours once she's calmed down." I sigh again, and he takes a few steps towards me.

"She probably just needs some time to relax, that always calmed you down." Aaron says to me, and I smile up at him before I realise my actions, and I shake my forgotten feelings away.

"It did, so I'm going to go do just that." I tell him before heading the opposite way from where he was standing towards my bunk.

[Lyra's Outfit]

As I lay on my bed in my bunk with my hands behind my head, legs outstretched, my feet crossed and my eyes closed, I try to get as much rest as possible before we land in a few twelve hours, but it seems impossible as someone decides to knock on the door of my bunk, and I sigh in frustration.

"Come in." I sigh as I open my eyes and swig mu legs over the dge of my bed, and the door slides open to reveal Ward, and he glances at me before stepping inside and closing the door behind himself "What's up?" I ask him.

"Something's up with Camilla's men. A few of them are downstairs and two of them are just in the lounge." He tells me sternly.

"Look, I know Aaron-" I try to say as I stand up, but Ward cuts me off.

"-But you haven't seen him in months. I need you to trust me on this, as a fellow team member." Ward explains to me, and I look at him hesitant before letting out a light sigh.

"... What's the plan, fellow team member?" I ask him.

"I'm going to see what I can get out of one the guy's in the lounge, I need you to distract the other." Ward explains to me, but stops only mid-way into the plan.

"Your hesitant, why?" I ask him warily.

"I need you to distract Aaron." Ward tells me, and I scoff incredulously.

"No, you want me to seduce him." I correct him.

"Distract." Ward corrects me.

"Seduce." I correct him.

"Well?" Ward asks me.

"... Fine, two minutes." I tell him.

"Alright." Ward opens my bunk door and looks out into the hallway.

"One minute fifty-eight, fifty-seven..." I trail off, and he walks out of my bunk.

I then look out of my bunk and watch Ward walk into the lounge, and I see Aaron sitting with one of Reyes men on the couch and he looks up at Ward before looking over at me. I then nod my head to the left, motioning him to come over before I step back wards into my room. About a minute later, Aaron walks into the doorway of my bunk and he leads his left hand against theblright side of the doorway.

"What's up?" Aaron asks me confused.

"Get inside, and close the door." I tell him, and the right corner of his mouth twitches into a smile as he steps inside.

I then roll my eyes as he turns around to close the door, and I quickly lock my right arm around his neck and place my left hand around his mouth as I begin to choke him. Aaron then immediately grips my right arm with his right hand and my left wrist with his left hand trying to get free, but after a few seconds his body goes limb, and I release him and let him drop onto the bed, unconcious.

I then hear a thump from outside of my bunk, so I take out my gun from my holster and hold it in my right hand as I open my bunk door, and I step out quietly before sliding the door closed, and I hold my gun in both hands. I then peek into the lounge to see Ward standing over one of Reyes' men, whom is unconscious, and Skye is standing a few feet away from them, so I lower my gun and step inside. Coulson the rushes out of his office on the upper level of The B.U.S., and he looks over the railings at us before looking at the T.V. to me left in shock, and Ward, myself and Skye look to the T.V. to see one of Reyes' men holding a gun pointed at Fitz' head in the lab.

After we surrendered to Reyes' so Fitz wouldn't get killed, Reyes' men have binded an Unconscious May, Skye, Simmons, Fitz, Ward and mine wrists with zip-ties in the landing bay with now conscious Aaron guarding us from afar in the lab.

"This is my fault. Should have learned Kung Fu." Fitz confesses.

"Oh, yeah, but I shouldn't have pushed you into the field in the first place. You weren't ready. It was my job to make a proper threat assessment. Uh, we-we weren't ready." Simmons stutters the last part.

"This wouldn't have happened if Agent May wasn't on the stick. She would have busted out some of her ninja know-how." Skye says to us.

"Agent May? No. No, no. She transferred from administration." Simmons corrects Skye.

"Well, I've seen her destroy a guy, so..." Skye trails off.

"You've heard of the cavalry?" Ward asks them, and I furrow my eyebrows at the familiar name.

"Yeah. Yeah. Everyone at the academy talks about st-" Simmons says, but she cuts herself off as she and Fitz look at each other in realization.

"She's the cavalry?" Both Fitz and Simmons say in unision.

"I told you never to call me that." May wakes up grogily.

"I can't believe it." Simmons gauws in surprise.

"Oh, we're sure to get out of here now." Skye says as she refers to May breaking us out.

"Um, how do we get out of here?" Ward asks us as I slide the bracelet I have on my right wrist off, and take off the cap to reveal a small blade. I then start to cut the zip-tie on my wrists.

"Can't go through the doors. They're bolted, tied to the pressurization lines." Fitz refers to the lab doors.

"You two geniuses have nothing?" Ward asks Fitz and Simmons incredulously.

"Yeah, well, it's hard to concentrate in these intense situations." Fitz tells him.

"Hey. Don't freeze up. Take a breath. You don't need to come up with the whole solution. Just part of it. Right?" Simmons asks Fitz.

"Yeah. Pieces solving a puzzle." Fitz sighs, and I finally cut the zip-tie off of my wrists.

"My wrists are free." I tell them as I remove the zip-tie behind my back.

"How?" Ward asks me confused.

"They left my bracelet on, bad decision." I tell him and he looks behind me to see I'm holding my makeshift bracelet. I then hand it to Ward.

"What's first?" I ask Fitz and Simmons.

"We can't get upstairs without going in the lab." Simmons tells us.

"And the only way to release the lab doors is from upstairs." Fitz adds.

"So I knock Aaron out again, you guys get out of those zip-tie's, we use the truck to crash into the lab and create the big enough distraction that doesn't destroy this B.U.S... Completely anyways." I present my plan.

"Let's just do that then. I free." Ward says, and he slighly gives my bracelet to Fitz.

I then swiftly stand up and crouch behind the truck quietly, and the lab doors open and close a second later.

"Where did Lyra go?" I hear Aaron ask them as I sneak around the truck as he stands on the opposite side.

I then grab the left side of Aaron's head with my left hand before I smash his head into the passenger side car window, and the window smashes before Aaron falls the floor, unconscious.

"Ready?" I ask them, and they all slowly raise to their feet with their worst un-binded, and May walks over to me and holds out my bracelett to me, and I take it with my right hand.

"I'll drive." May offers as she walks over to the drivers side of the truck.

"Okay, we're sure, right? Everyone's sure?" Fitz asks us as May climbs into the truck.

"Step on it, May." I tell her..

"Yeah, let's do this fast. No turning back. No freezing up. Because if we do, then-" Simmons tries to say, but Ward cuts her off.

"-All of us die. We know. All right." Ward says as the engine revs.

"You guys talk a lot." Skye tells Fitz and Simmons honestly before May changes the gear in the truck and she rams the truck into the lab, and imthe lab window smashes.

"Fitz, distraction." I tell him.

"Simmons, forget what I said before. This is the moment that we'll regret." Fitz walks over to electronic table and begins to work his magic, and not soon after we hear an explosion from upstairs, and the wall computer shows that the right side of the lounge has blown off.

"That'll do." I tell Fitz.

After we gathered the cable lines from the landing bay and the harnesses from parashoots, myself and Ward put the harnesses on that are now attached to the cable lines.

"The drop in cabin pressure released the doors. We can use these to keep us steady." I explain to Ward before turning to Skye, Fitz and Simmons "When we give you thee the signal, you pull us back in." I tell them.

"May will fly the plane using slingshot, I'll take care of the soldiers. You guy get to the 0-8-4, I'll cover you." Ward tells me the last part.

"Copy that." I tell him.

"And Coulson?" Skye asks us.

"Let's hope he can handle himself." I say to him with confidence in Coulson. Fitz then pulls up the surveillance of the lounge, and we see Reyes, Reyes men and Coulson hanging onto the interior so they don't gets blown out of the plane.

"That's our que." Ward tells me.

"Be careful." Skye tells me.

"When am I not?" I smile at her before Ward and myself head to the lounge, and I begin to find it harder to keep up on my feet. We then approach near the bunks, and their is immediate firing at us with their automatics as we try to look in the lounge, and I'm able to see some of Reyes' men trying to get behind the mini-bar. The 0-8-4.

"Cover me!" I shout over the loud noise from outside of The B.U.S..

I then get on my stomachs and begin to army crawl towards the mini-bar, and as Reyes' men fire at me, I use the furniture for cover before successfully taking cover behind the mini-bar. I then pick up the briefcase with the 0-8-4 inside and hook the handle to my harness. I then peek over the mini-bar at Ward and give him a curt nod as he takes more cover.

"Fitz! Reel us back in! " Ward shout over his com, but I barely hear him. I then begins to army crawl back to the lab as I feel the cable reialing in until it stops.

"It's jammed!" Fitz says over our coms as I get behind a couch for cover.

"... I'm going go for it!" I tell them over my com.

"Lyra! Wait! Ward there should be a compressed life boat near you! Pull it!" Skye tells him as I feel something begin to tare. I then look down at my harness to see the cable wire about to break, so I grip onto it.

"Skye-" I cut myself of as it snaps and I fly straight over the couch and towards the hole in the side of the plane.

I then feel something wrap around me, so I grip onto it before I hit the floor with a hard thump. I then look up to see Ward with his arms wrapped around me and I'm gripping onto his shirt, and I look up to the hole in The B.U.S. to see an inflatable life boat securing the hole. I then sigh thankfully before release Wards shirt, and he releases me before we lay beside each other, panting slightly from current events.

"There is a first time for everything." Ward sighs.

"Well if you want to do it a second time, your going solo." I tell him with a light chuckle as I un-clip the 0-8-4 from my harness and place it on Wards abdomen as he grunts a chuckle.

(Skip to Slingshot Facility, The B.U.S.)

After landing in Slingshot, S.H.E.I.L.D. prepares to send and destroy the 0-8-4 into space as S.H.E.I.L.D. agents roam The B.U.S. to fix the damages, I step into the briefing room to see Coulson having a conversation with a dark-tanned man and an eye patch over his left eye.

[Nicholas 'Nick' Joseph Fury]

"My apologies for interrupting, I'm looking for-" I try to say, but Coulson cuts me off.

"-Reyes and her men have been taken in." Coulson tells me "I know you trusted him, I'm sorry." He apologises.

"I've known him for seven years, that doesn't mean I trusted him." I correct him.

"Who do you trust?" The other man asks me.

"She's on this B.U.S." I tell him before I walk away.

After the other man left, Coulson and myself talk with Coulson about further progression in S.H.E.I.L.D. as S.H.E.I.L.D. agents continue to fit The B.U.S.

"What exactly are we signing up for?" Skye asks Coulson to clarify.

"Like I said, front-row seat to the craziest show on earth." Coulson tells us.

"Yeah, but we didn't expect the show to get this crazy this fast all for an object you're just gonna destroy." Skye states confused to why they would do that.

"Slingshot is protocol. A weapon like the 0-8-4 is too dangerous for any person or country to have. People like Reyes would always be after it." Coulson explains to her.

"Well what I want to know is, what happened with you and Reyes? You guys totally did it back in the day, right?" Skye asks grinning, and I roll my eyes before walking over to the others on the open landing bay where Ward and May are standing beside the truck, and Fitz and Simmons are sitting on the edge of the landing bay with a cooler inbetween them both filled with beer and ice, and they wait to see the 0-8-4 be rocketed up to space.

"That's classified." I hear Coulson tells her, and I laugh quietly.

"We blew up a plane." I hear Fitz say as I make my way over to him.

"I had a new experience." I tell them before I take a sip of my beer.

"Eat that, Professor Vaughn. You had a new experience. But it was new for all of us." Simmons says to us, and I give her a bright cheery smile.

"Hey, come on. You guys don't want to miss this." Fitz says to the others, and May sits next to Simmons as Ward sits next to me, but Coulson and Skye just stand a few feet behind us.

"So, it'll take about 180 days to reach the sun." Simmons tells us.

"Now, yes, of course, it would have been faster if they'd used hydrogen-fueled APUs, but they're having fun." Fitz adds.

"How many of those have you guys had?" Skye asks Fitz and Simmons laughing a little as she refers to the beers.

"Skye. It's important when in the field to unwind from time to time." Ward explains to her.

"Yeah, yeah, especially after a hard day of everyone almost dying." May adds.

"Which doesn't happen every day, right?" Skye asks us catiously.

"It's an anomaly, an irregularity. Not... The norm." I explain to her since I've had experience.

"Speaking of 'not the norm,' whose idea was it to blow a hole in the plane?" Coulson asks us.

"May said that the doors were tied to the pressurization, so I thought-" Fitz tries to explain, but Ward cuts him off.

"-So we thought it was the only way to release them." Ward tells Coulson.

"It was everyone's idea, sir." I tell Coulson.

"Yes, quite genius, really." May adds.

"Nice work." Coulson tells us before we all look back out to the rocket.

"Oh, time for blast off." Fitz tells us as clouds of bright smoke rise beneath the rocket "Launching... In Three... Two..." He trails off for count down until it finally blasts of and rises into the sky slowly.

"The trajectory will take it beyond the Lagrange point so that it doesn't hit Herschel." Simmons explains to us.

"And there haven't been any coronal mass ejections, so it shouldn't lose telemetry." Fitz adds more explanation.

"Guys, English." Ward tells them, and I nudge him in his left ribs with my right elbow "Ow!" He tells me with fake pain.

I then look behind me at Skye to see her looking at her phone cautiously. What's with her?
