6; You Made Me

~Twelve years ago~

"Hey, hey. You there!" I said to the kid next to me teasing him with my feathers, tickling his face. It was the first year of a private hero training course, a small group of potential prodigy heroes were chosen to do the course and I was one of them. Twelve of us were there in total, 6 girls, 6 boys. All of us around the age of 12.

We were standing in a line next to each other facing forward, waiting for our instructor to arrive. Nobody moved or talked except for me of course, but that's because i couldn't help it, i was kinda bored. The kid next to me, the one i was teasing, had white hair with streaks of red, the red parts looked like they were slowly fading, it looked kinda weird if i were being honest. He stood straight up with his hands on his back, a scowl on his face said i was annoying him. He eventually pushed my wing out of his face, "Piss off." he responded before returning to his solid stance. I rolled my eyes and i let him be for now but i couldn't help but stare, he fascinated me and i promised myself i would get to know him.

The rest of the day after our instructor had arrived wasn't interesting, just some introduction and beginner training. When we finally were finally dismissed to our dorms, i found a happy surprise there. "Hey! You!" i said as i realised with whom i'd be sharing the dorm. The white haired guy with red streaks in them had just sat down on the bed near the window and looked up. He greeted me this time with a casual. "Hello." His voice sounded less harsh than when he had told me to 'Piss off'.

"I'm Keigo Takami." I extended my hand to shake his, he took it. "Toya Todoroki." he answered as he pulled his hand away awkwardly.
"Well looks like we'll be stuck with each other for some time. Let's make the best out of it." i said with a smile.

"3 younger siblings?! I don't even have one!" i said to Toya who continued to speak, "My parents married for quirks. My dad wants to create the ultimate hero that can even surpass All Might." He said, we were skipping class once again. And it wasn't like they would find us anyway, i flew us up to the roof and there wasn't a door to it funnily enough.

"You aren't the ultimate hero according to your dad then as you're the oldest?" i asked him raising an eyebrow, he nodded.

"Yeah my youngest brother is, with one side he has a fire quirk on the other side a ice quirk." he explained, "I'll prove him I'm a good hero though, im gonna surpass him." Toya said and his blue eyed gleamed with determination. "You and me will both surpass Endeavor, Toya." i said with a smirk as i rested my hand on his shoulder.

A rescue exercise was easy, we've must have done it a million times but it still impressed me how Toya did all of it without even using his quirk, and he was good at it, "I don't know how you do it, being so nice to people you 'rescue ' while you're rotten inside." i joked when Toya walked back only slightly out of breath. Over 4 years Toya's hair had fully turned white, he had also grown taller and was now slightly taller than i was.

"Oh shut up, how did I survive 4 years with you?" Toya said as he pushed my shoulder making me stumble slightly by his strength. My heart fluttered though.

"How was your Christmas by the way?" I asked, Christmas break had just finished yesterday and Toya came back late in the evening so we hadn't had the chance to talk about it yes. He kept quiet, shrugging slightly and for a split second i thought he grimaced as he moved his hand to his stomach. Class was dismissed and i started again about the break again.

"That bad huh? Your dad was an ass again?"

"Christmas dinner was absolute disaster," he sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, "Natsu and i got in an argument with Dad about Mum being hospitalized and shit. Fuyu tried to keep the peace, but then Dad started screaming and Shoto started crying. So that was bad," I sighed and looked at him, he talked about this so easily, like it didn't even hurt him in a slightest bit but i knew better, this did hurt him a lot, he hated his Dad.

"But over all the break was fine, Dad was working over-time so we didn't see him much, which is good and our nanny bought us all Christmas presents as she knew Dad wouldn't." Toya said as we made our way back to our dorm and he spread himself on top of his bed, "How was yours?" he voice was a muffled as his face was burried in his pillow.

"Eh, same as always, just me and my mom." I answered, "Must be nice." he mumbled back. I didn't respond to that. "Wanna play a game? We could also annoy Rumi?" i asked as i sat down on his bed. "No I'm tired, gonna take a nap." Toya responded as he turned his head to look at me, he did look tired

After that day I noticed that Toya's behavior started to change little by little. He was getting sloppy in everything he did. He spend more time with me which meant we skipped more classes, which was fun but eventually they were gonna get us in trouble, there was only so much Rumi could do and lie for us to tell the teachers we were sick again.

On the day of his 17th birthday he went home to celebrate with his family. It was a Saturday anyway so we were allowed to leave school territory. He cameback late that night. I was still awake sitting on the bed, reading a manga, when the door opened quietly, "Oh you're still awake." Toya said softly as he got inside, his voice raspy and tired. He walked to his bed and I noticed he was limping slightly, my eyes widened slightly.

"Hey you okay?" i asked. "Got in a fight with Dad again, it's fine." he looked sad and i could only wonder if the fight had been physical or not.

"You sure?" i asked as i put my manga on the nightstand and he nodded sitting on his bed. I got up and i grabbed the box on the nightstand and sat down on his bed, "Anyways, happy birthday, though I'm a little to late now." it had just passed midnight, but i gave him the cake i made that day, with a little help of Rumi.

"Thanks. You're amazing." Toya said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes and we both digged in. Eventually we both fell asleep on his bed, that happened more often, but only one things was different than from usual. When i woke up that morning, Toya was gone. That usually didn't happen, I was usually the early bird not him. I searched the building for Toya but i couldn't find him. I figured he went back home to apologise to his sister. But that evening he still wasn't back, a day turned into more days, which turned into weeks, months, to graduation, my hero debut and my rise to the top, to my mission to spy on the League and he wasn't there by my side, or so i thought.

~present~

"Toya Todoroki." he finished.

"You're kidding me, right?" i answered with a nervous laugh.
"Ha, I've become pathetic." He chuckled but not a real chuckle, it was a close to a nervous breakdown chuckle
"I-- everything makes sense now." i said, i was finally able to put my finger on everything, the familiar stare, the eyes, the matching back-story, humour, the way of moving, the same quirk for fucks sake. And the hatred towards Endeavor.

"And you knew i was your friend from the past?" I asked him hesitantly,

"Of course i knew. Are you fucking stupid or something?" he replied not daring to look at me. He was still hunched over his knees.

"Why didn't you tell me?" i continued as i looked down at my hands in my lap, which were shaking once again.

"I thought you'd be disappointed. I thought you'd hate me." he said.
I looked at him and rolled my eyes,
"I don't hate you. Get that into your thick skull." I said and kneeled down in front of him. Pushing his hair from his forehead. "I could never hate you." I whispered as i cupped his face into my hands. I wiped the blood from underneath his scars. Dabi- no Toya- closed his eyes. He grabbe my wrist, softly this time and held on to it.

"I'm sorry." he whispered, i shook my head even though he couldn't see it.

"I was so scared, i thought you were dead." i said quietly not scolding him, "Why did you run?" i asked, he opened his eyes, his turquoise eyes shone in the rising sun that came in through the window.

"I just couldn't live like that anymore." he said.

"But we had fun right?" i asked, i felt tears form in my eyes. No i didn't want to cry.

"Of course we had, you are the brightest part of my life. From the moment i ran till now i couldn't get you out of my mind." He said and his voice shook.

"You are the only reason why I'm still here, i would've ended my life if it wasn't for you."

I blinked in shock but smirked slightly, "Was that a confession?" i asked as i raised an eyebrow at him. "Shut the fuck up," he said and i let him pull me closer.

"Let's sleep now and continue talking later okay? " i said as we lied down facing each other. He had closed his eyes already but i couldn't stop staring. I wanted to pull him close to feel his body against mine, i didn't know if he would allow me to do that or push me away. The sun shone in the room, a bright light that looked beautiful on Toya. shifted closer to him, resting my hand on his neck, pulling his head against my chest.

"What are you trying to do?" he whispered his eyes still closed. "Shh, rest. Let me just be clsoe too you." i whispered back, he scoffed grabbed ahold of my shirt crumbling it in his fist, like he had done before.

Toya, Toya Todoroki, he was him, now i know.
