"Ladies wow!" Hawks exclaimed as entered the livingroom; Carrots was attempting to do Toga's hair in braids, it was an absolute mess, I surpressed a groan of pain, as i watched the scene unfold, pressing slightly, and hopefully, unnoticed on my stinging wound.

"Keigo, please explain how dutch braiding works!" said Carrots, she glanced at the two of us frustated but something caught in her eyes but disappeared just as soon as it appeared..

"Don't look at me I'm a guy!" Hawks argued. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him.

"Step aside damn it." i slapped Rumi's hand away from the mess that was Toga's hair.

"Like you could do better," Rumi commented as she crossed her arms looking me up and down.

"Yes, in fact, i can do better." i grabbed the brush from Mirko's hand and untangled Toga's hair before brushing it. I started braiding Toga's hair and it took some effort as i hadn't done it in a while but i finished.

"See?" i gestured. "How can you do it?" Rumi exclaimed.
"How can you not?" i retorted before actually answering, "I used to do my sister's hair a lot."

"Who knew you had a soft side." Rumi teased.

"Oh fuck off, Carrots." i rolled my eyes again and made my way to the kitchen for some privacy, luckily Hawks wasn't following. I turned around at the corner of the kitchen and leaned against the wall, breathing in deeply. I pulled up my shirt to look at the bandaged wound. It had been bleeding slightly after Shigaraki kicked me so there was a splash of blood that you could see through the bandage. I slightly tensed when I heard heard someone entering but relaxed as i realised it wasn't Keigo, he would kinda freak and be worried about me and i didn't want that. I didn't have to look to know who it was, I knew the footsteps of the people in the house by heart, even if i had only been living like a day in one house with Rumi.

"Should i change your bandage?" Rumi asked quietly not wanting to alert anyone from in the livingroom by that question. I finally looked at her, she wasn't very tall but her long rabbit ears standing upright added to the illusion that she was taller. I shook my head, "You mustn't worry about me, I'm fine."

"I'm not worrying, I'm offering my help so Kei won't have to worry. He's stressed out enough as it is." She crossed her arms across her chest. "Fine, if you want to change it so bad go ahead." It didn't sound at all annoyed and i cursed at myself for that. I awkwardly lifted my shirt over my head as she went to fetch the first-aid kit from the kitchen cabinet. She didn't speak up until i was seated on the table in the kitchen. She unwrapped the bandaged from my abdomen with careful but experienced hands, like she had done it before.

"You know, he has had a crush on you for a long time. Did he tell you how heart broken he was when you left?"

"I knew he had a crush on me, that's also partly why i left. He deserves better than me, he is better than me," I didn't look at her, instead i looked at one of the spots on the wall.
"He never thought he was better than you." Rumi muttered back and then only a little louder said, "And you should really talk about how you both felt after you ran, and not only kiss and fuck." I rolled my eyes.

"We obviously talked about it already." i explained, feeling slightly embarassed, "It's just that we take it slow and we didn't tell each other everything in one go." why was i even explaining myself to her? I shook my head slightly. "Now stop talking and treat the wound." I grumbled.

~seventeen years ago~

It was early in the morning when I quietly walked through the house, i didn't want to alert my father that i was awake, i passed Fuyumi's room and before i could turn at the end of the hallway a door opened and a soft voice spoke up.

"Toya." Fuyumi whispered, i walked back to her. She peered around the door of her room.

"Hi, what are you doing up? You have a day off from school right?" i asked her, it was too early for her to be awake.

"I heard mom crying again." she stated sadly, she was only a year younger than me but i couldn't help to feel responsible  of her, a sense of protectiveness.

"I'm gonna make sure if she's okay, you stay right here," Natsuo now appeared behind Fuyumi too, "You too, Natsu," I said before i turned around again.

Dad was recently getting more and more angry, he wanted a perfect child, the one who would defeat All Might. He trained me mercilessly but i wasn't good enough, he hated my quirk, maybe it was too much like his, or maybe it was the fact that i couldn't completely . I was only seven but he forced me to train hard and long. Mum tried to protect me often but he'd get angry at her and i had told her to stop.

I wasn't really scared of my father even though, he hurts me, i just preferred to stay out of his way. "Mum?" i asked as i walked to the livingroom. I heard soft sobbing coming from there.

I turned the corner to the living room and watched the scene, she was on the floor holding her hand against her mouth, while she was sobbing. Dad was towering over her. I walked to Mum on the floor ignoring my dad. "Mum, it's okay." i said as i put my hand on her shoulder,

"Please go to the kitchen." I asked, she somehow managed to nod and stood up.

"Dad." i turned to him, i didn't do anything else but i saw the fury in his eyes. Better get that rage out on me than on Mum or my siblings.

He grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards the training room, which was soundproof.

"You should be training, you little brat." he pushed me harshly into the room. His hand left a red mark on my wrist, but i didn't even cry out in pain.

"Train me then. Make me the one to surpass All Might and leave the others alone." i challenged him. The words i were speaking were dangerous, challenging, i might regret it but i couldn't stand him hurting anyone else and if it meant for me to get hurt than so be it.

He scoffed at me, "Come at me with all you got." he said, as he slammed the door behind him and shifted into a fighting position. I indeed regretted speaking up but it was worth it.

That evening i had trouble walking back to my room. I clutched my wrapped up stomach in pain, crunching up my shirt in my fist. At least he had the decency to wrap me up in bandages after making all that damage. I was sore as I fell down onto my bed. I was lying there for what felt like just a second before there was a knock on my door.

"Toya?" Fuyumi said from outside the door.

"Come in." i said and i sat up. She opened the door and she got inside, together with Natsuo.

"Hey." i smiled at them, "Wanna play a game?"

Fuyumi nodded at that suggestion. I shifted to grab one of the board games underneath my bed, groaning quietly.

"Are you okay?" she asked her brows furrowed, I nodded. Natsuo took the boardgame from my hand.

"Mum is pregnant." Fuyumi said, "Oh another sibling? Fun!" i said, i hoped i didn't sound unhappy or sarcastic.

Around nine months later the kid was born and father was almost certain that he was the kid to destroy All Might. He kept training me harshly and tirelessly like he had since before and when i turned 12 i was send to a private hero course.

"Hey you there!" The kid with red wings next to me said. He shoved the feathers of his wings in my face and i pushed his wing away before replying annoyed, "Piss off." i said and the kid stayed quiet. I wasn't there to make friends and he should get that hint the sooner the better.

That night i figured out he was my dorm mate, i felt kinda guilty for being mean to him after all and i decided the least i could do was to be nice to him. He was my dorm mate after all. What i hadn't realised was that we would become best friends.

"Hey To, are you awake?" Keigo whispered, i suspected it was around 2 in the night.

"No, I'm very much asleep." i replied sarcastically.

"Oh sorry." he stayed quiet for a second before saying, "Hey wait!" i laughed, i hadn't expected him to be fooled by it, he was usually very smart and observant.

"But seriously listen," he said and i heard him exale softly.

"What is it?" i turned to face him, even though he wasn't in the same bed as i was, our beds were next to each other, seperated by our two night stands.

"It might come out of nowhere but i really wanted to say this." he sighed again, "Thanks for being my friend."

"I know I'm a bit much from time to time, a bit to clingy, a bit to annoying. So you know thanks for sticking around despite all that."

I laughed a bit confused, "Don't be so hard on yourself, everyone loves you, i like you just the way you are." he looked at me wide eyed.

"Now let me sleep, or i might commit arson." i turned away from him with a smile on my face.

"Are you gonna tell me more about your parents? You know all about my family, i know nothing about yours." i asked Keigo who looked away for a second. "My dad isn't in the picture, just me and my mom, she's nice. She can cook really well. She's real motherly and nice." I didn't know if Keigo realised he said that she was nice, twice. It made me not really believe it, but i didn't call him out on it.

"You don't have any siblings? Must be lonely." i said instead, i didn't want to force him to say things he didn't want.

"Nah it's fine, never really felt lonely."

Another lie, "Alright."

"Carrots get your shit together." i yelled at Rumi through the earphone, as we were in the middle of a hero exercise. I was paired up with Rumi and Keigo, which was a mess, when together they shared one braincell.
"For fuck's sake Keigo, get your ass here." i yelled into the earphone again.

We were fighting another team and we were to rescue the hostages, while the other team was to prevent us from doing that. The other team consisted of someone with a water quirk, very unconvenient for me, someone with a sort of shadow quirk which allowed him to merge with the shadow and make his body some sort of ghost so we couldn't touch him if he did that. The last person's quirk allowed her to stretch and move her body nearly limitless while also kind of turning her body into elastic.

Rumi was trying to fight the shadow guy in one of the other rooms but with her quirk, literally being a rabbit, she couldn't lay a finger on him. The water girl was fighting me, i couldn't use my quirk against her so i had to relay on my dodging skills and martial arts, which was going surprisingly well, atleast i wasn't yet knocked out of the building.

Keigo was outside scanning the building for possible options where they could keep the hostages. "I'm coming," Keigo replied and not even a minute later, he burst through the window and caught the water girl by surprise, he pinned her down to the floor, with a knee on her stomach and a arm against her throat.

"Thank fuck." i lit two blue flames in each of my hand and ran up the stairs to support Rumi, "You can't hide in shadows if there are no shadows." i said before spreading the fire around the room, I controlled them with ease, Rumi now had her chance and kicked the guy down.

Keigo joined us as he had tight the water girl downstairs, Rumi was doing the same to the shadowguy. We proceeded our way searching for the last 'villain' and the hostages. We finally found the hostages and Keigo send his feathers out to send the three hostages- which for the record were life sized dummies- outside after he smashed the windows to make an opening for them. That however couldn't happen because an arm snatched the dummies back with ease and the elastic girl appeared through the window like a spider, she pushed the dummies behind her before smirking and saying. "Three against one, fair fight, aye?" She said, Rumi stiffled a laugh, the girl was one of her friends after all so it must be kind of funny.

"Oh yes a fair fight, leave this to me." I cracked my knuckles and then charged at the other girl who stretched her arms out to both Keigo and Rumi.

I grabbed the arm charged at Keigo with a surprising speed and i used my quirk just enough for it to hurt a little.  She pulled her arms back and shifted to a fighting stance.

In just two other moves she was on the ground with knee on her neck and arms pinned above her head.

"Hero group wins!" the speakers echoes through the building and i let the girl go,  who coughed just a little. I offered her my hand and she let me pull her up to her feet.

"Congratulations on the win." she said with a sly smile and she rubbed her arm.
I smirked at her, "Thanks." i said.

"Alright now anything to say about the hero team?" the teacher asked the rest of the class as we joined them.
"Their teamwork was good and they played well with eachother's strength, though Toya should watch his language more." One of the classmates said, I forgot his name.

"Correct, you hear that Toya?" the teacher glanced at me. I quirked an eyebrow up at him before answering,

"Loud and clear, sir." i said, i knew i wouldn't really do anything with it.

"Rumi and her dormmate got their hands on alcohol wanna join them? You know Sascha? The girl with the elastic quirk" Keigo asked that evening.

"No thanks, you have fun." I answered  i was reading a book but i wasn't really the party type either. Hell i didn't know the names of most of my classmates. "Awh why not?" Keigo asked, not to force me to come, just out of curiosity.

"They probably hate me," i said, i put my book away and looked at Keigo.

"Why'd you think that? I think Sascha has a crush on you." Keigo asked confused.

"That's because my father is famous, all the girls are actually swooning over you, you're better than me anyway." i mumbled the last part, Keigo was the one who everyone loves, not me but i never actually said that out loud.

"I'm sure she actually likes for you and not because of your father, and they dont  swoon over me, at least not every girl." Keigo protested. I shrugged, he was oblivious, all the girls liked him, i liked him, how he didn't know that yet was a mystery.

"You just go without me." I picked up my book once more.

"Nah never mind, it won't be fun without you anyway. My heart fluttered at that slightly. "Wanna play a video game instead?" i nodded, not wanting to disappoint Keigo any further.

Somehow we ended up spending time with the girls anyway. They went up to our dorm. They brought drinks and we were playing a game, we only had two controllers though so each time two people had to wait.

"Kei can you hand me my phone, when you finish getting destroyed?" i asked him as it was for some reason on his bed. Rumi had thrown her legs on my lap as she was playing against Keigo, both the girls somehow ended up sitting on ny bed while Keigo was sprawled out across his own bed. Keigo was about to use one of his feathers to give it to me, which was always a cool sight, but Sascha reached her arm out and stretched it far enough to grab my phone.

"I got it." I was slightly disapointed to not see Keigo's feather in action.

"Thanks." i said obligated as Sascha handed me my phone with a smile. Keigo and I shared a quick glance and he gave me a knowing smirk, i wanted to hit him. But Keigo returned his gaze back to the tv again.

"So Toya, who is your favorite hero?" Sascha asked, i shrugged. I didn't know, i never really paid attention to other heroes.

"I don't know, i dont really have a favorite." i answered simply, glancing at the time.

"Oh really? I thought that the answer would have been Endeavor, as he's your father." She said disapointed from my answer. I scowled at her slightly.

"Just because Endeavor is my father doesn't mean i actually like him." I growled and Keigo quickly interrupted while still getting destroyed by Rumi in Mario Kart.'

"Guys let's not talk about family, bad idea." He simply warned.
"I'm sorry." Sascha apologised as she shifted. Rumi sat up to concentrate better on the game and her legs disappeared from my lap.

I noticed how Sascha shifted a little closer to me and she touched my hand. Oh no, no, no. I hated to even think this but Keigo was right, she did like me.

I stiffened slightly, she didn't seem to notice and kept her hand rested on top of mine. "Keigo I'm hungry, are we going to steal food from the kitchen?" Rumi said after she finished first place and Keigo 10th place.

"Fine let's go. We'll be back." Keigo said as he dropped his controller on his bed and Rumi pushed him out of the room nearly too eager, glancing to Sascha.

Sascha sat down on her knees and leaned over. My eyes went wide, i hadn't expected her to make a move, she was more bold than I'd thought.
She pressed her lips to mine. I quickly pulled my head away and in my hurry to get away from her, i fell off the bed.

"Are you okay?" she asked blinking her eyes in confusion, ""Don't you like me?"
"No, I'm sorry really, but I'm not into you." I said as i got up slowly. I noticed how tears started to form in her eyes, i sat down on my knees on the floor, looking up at her.

"You're into Rumi then?" she asked sniffing slightly. Ha she had the entire wrong idea, it nearly made me laugh.

"No, not exactly."

"Am i not good looking enough for you?" she then said, wiping her eyes.

"It's not that, you're beautiful. I'm just not in love with you." She turned her head slightly towards me, it wasn't like i wasn't attracted to her, she was beautiful and i wouldn't mind to hook up but i knew she liked me and I just couldn't bear that when there was someone else i liked.

"I like someone else."
Her mouth formed an 'O', but before she could ask who Keigo and Rumi returned, with chips, chocolate and other unhealthy stuff. "Why are you on the floor?" Keigo asked confused while glancing at me and back at Sascha. "No reason." I said, "Did you get--" I started but Keigo shoved a blue bag of m&m's in my arms, "Of course i did." Keigo said fake offended that i even had to ask.

"You're absolutely amazing, Kei." i responded before  i locked eyes with Sascha who immediately understood, she gaped at Keigo and than back at me with an raised eyebrow. I nodded at her, yes, yes, i like him, i didn't deserve him but i like him.

~Present~

Carrots finished wrapping up a clean bandage around me.

"Can we just forget what we talked about?" I asked, she looked up at me and shook her head.

"Don't be such a baby about it, you're not supposed to be so sensitive you know?" Rumi said, i glared at her but she was right. She handed me my shirt. "Where's Hawks anyway?" It was kinda suspicious that he hadn't entered the kitchen in the time Rumi and I had been there.

"I told him to get some groceries." she responded as she started to make tea.

"Smart." I replied as i tugged on my shirt

"Dabs come play a game with me." Toga appeared from the livingroom and pulled me with her to the couch. "Fine, just stop pulling." she let go of my arm and i followed her.
