LATE NIGHT TALK:

Mmm, phew. Getting a little fresh air really perks you up.

AYUMU: "Oh! You scared me. What are you doing out on the balcony, Mr. Chairman?"

AKI: "I was working on a strategy for Setsuna's campaign but I started zoning out, so I came outsi- Wait, Mr. Chairman?!"

AYUMU: *Giggle* "It is true, you know."

AKI: "I'm the Chairman of the School Idol Festival... Wow, it sounds unreal. It was like it was just yesterday we discovered the festival on your phone."

AYUMU: "Yeah, and I asked you if you wanted to go. Now, you're running the whole thing."

AKI: "Correction, WE'RE running the whole thing. Still, who would have thought that we'd be in the position we're in now. New friends and so many new memories. And it's all thanks to the School Idol Club!"

AYUMU: "..."

AKI: "Hey, don't worry! We're going to beat Shioriko, I just know it."

AYUMU: "You have a lot of history with this Mifune girl, huh?"

AKI: "Yeah... But I wasn't going to throw away my friendship with you for her."

AYUMU: "Your mom is so nice, I don't understand why your papa is like this."

AKI: "It's what power can do to someone. Once you get a taste, it warps you, it changes you. Mostly for worse, you either enjoy the rush or become frustrated over the pressure. The people around you get upset and hurt, it's just a train of negativity."

AYUMU: "I see..."

AKI: "The Mifune's love power. They will do anything to gain it. That's why we have to be careful about the actions we take."

AYUMU: "You really know all about this political stuff, don't you?"

AKI: "Years of studying it kinda turns you into someone like this. I won't let our club get taken from us!"

AYUMU: "I believe in you and Setsuna, you got this!"

AKI: "Thanks, Ayu. So, what brings you out here at this time of night?"

AYUMU: "Just taking a break from responding to fan letters, I heard there's gonna be a meteor shower tonight. It'd be cool to see a shooting star."

Fan letters...?

AKI: "Oh, really? I'll have to keep an eye out, too."

AYUMU: "I was gonna mention it in my letter if I saw one."

AKI: "Did your wish come true from the last one?"

AYUMU: "Not yet. Someday, I hope it will."

AKI: "I'm sure it'll happen!"

AYUMU: "..."

AKI: "Ayu?"

AYUMU: "O-Oh! But if I add anything else, the letters might get annoyingly long."

AKI: "How long is each letter?"

AYUMU: "...Long enough to make the envelope puff out."

AKI: "Yikes."

AYUMU: "..."

AKI: "W-Well, I'd think they'd be ecstatic just to get something back from the person they're cheering for.
I don't think you have anything to worry about. Write your heart out!"

AYUMU: *Giggle* "Thank you. Hearing you say that makes me feel better."

AKI: "Talk to me, what's the writing process for you?"

AYUMU: "What happens is, as I'm writing, I keep thinking of more and more things I want to say. And before I know it, the letter's about twice as long as the one I recieved."

AKI: "That means it'll be that much more fun to read. If it were me, I'd be psyched! I'd grab a cup of coffee and a snack and read every word."

AYUMU: "Y-You would?"

AKI: "Definitely! Like I said earlier, anyone would be happy to receive a response from a school idol they're rooting for."

AYUMU: "So what you're saying is that these fans will feel the same way as I do whenever I receive a fan letter."

AKI: "Exactly! But still, isn't it a lot of trouble replying to each and every one?"

AYUMU: "No, I'm having a blast. You usually don't get the chance to write letters back and forth with anyone other than your friends.
Plus, they're all people who discovered me and decided to support me after I started doing school idol activities with you. Every one of them is important to me."

AKI: "Ayu..."

AYUMU: "So I'm writing back, hoping that those feelings will come through, even a little. Do you think they will?"

AKI: "I guarantee it! I'm sure your feelings will reach them loud and clear."

AYUMU: "Thanks. *Giggle* You know, you're really amazing. You've always had a way of cheering me up and making my worries vanish in an instant."

AKI: "Honestly, I think you're the amazing one, Ayu. You always listen to me with an open mind and take my words to heart."

AYUMU: "No, really, you're very special, Aki. You always know just the right thing to say to give me energy and courage."

AKI: "Will you stop, Ayu? You're wrong. You're the special one."

AYUMU: "No, you are!"

AKI: "No you!"

AYUMU: "Aki!"

AKI: "Ayu!"

AYUMU: *Giggle* "We used to argue like this when we were kids. When was it, elementary school? I complimented your sandcastle and you started heaping praise on my tunnel. Remember that?"

AKI: "Yeah, I couldn't forget a trip like that. I lost a war to a crane game."

AYUMU: *Laugh* *Sigh* "Maybe we'll always act like this. That'd be kinda nice."

AKI: "Yeah, I hope we'll always be friends like this."

AYUMU: "...Just friends?"

AKI: "Not just friends..."

AYUMU: "?!"

AKI: "Best friends!"

AYUMU: "Y-Yeah... Best friends..."
