"Mister Important"

Josette was thrilled of your announcement of going, and even more so about the fact that he "personally invited you" to the party. In your eyes, you were quite assured it was nothing more than being forced. However, with the help of your assistant you finally found a dress formal enough to wear. It was a long, rather tight black dress. Thankfully, it did not show much of a cleavage. Unfortunately it did have an open back. Beautiful details of silver went coherent to the cloth, ensuring it was anything but dull. After drying your hair and curling it, adding matching silver jewelry and shoes you stood in front of the mirror with Josette.

"Wow! Now you're certainly going to catch some eyes with that." Her excited state began to colour itself on you.

"Hehe, thanks Josette, but that's really not my goal."

"It should be." She grinned and clawed her hands, "He's this city's most desired bachelor."

You rolled your eyes, "Honestly Josette. The man is full of himself."

She sighed dreamingly as if unable to hear your opinion. That's when the idea struck you.

"Hey, then why don't you come along?" You suggested.

Stunned, she started grasping for words,

"B-ubut there's.. There's no time! And.. And it's not appropriate is it?!"

Smiling you hushed her, thinking to yourself that forcing someone to a party isn't quite appropriate either now is it?

"Don't worry about it. I have dresses to spare!"

An Hour later your driver parked the black car outside of the assigned location, one of Bruce's owned top flats. Seemed you and Josette came with some of the last people, yet that didn't bother you. Determined to not be in the worst mood, mainly for the sake of Josette who clearly was not only very nervous but also excited, you smiled and walked up the stairs then proceeding to the elevator.

"Do I look okay?" She stared at herself in the mirror. She was rather thin, but just as cute. You had found her a deep purple dress that matched her otherwise pale skin tone. Perhaps considering her being a couple years younger than you, it wasn't strange she was this nervous. To her comfort you reassured her she looked wonderful. Seconds before the doors opened you could hear the music flowing out, currently playing what seemed like live music of various instruments. When the doors eventually opened you found the floor to be quite filled with people already. A light shone up inside of you with hope, maybe you wouldn't have to socialise with Wayne nevertheless. Together with Josette you made for the least populated spot, and as you were quite content Josette clearly wasn't. Eventually she excused herself to go to the bathroom but you had a gut feeling she wasn't going to return for a while. Breathing out you looked out of the windows from the bar stool you sat on, feeling how the tension in your body slowly but surly left.

"Admiring the view?" A familiar, deep voice pierced through the music.  The tension returned as you turned around to find Bruce Wayne in a fitted smoking. It looked good on him, you found yourself thinking. The expression on his face was different from the one in the office; he wasn't looking over confident, arrogant and smug, but instead rather friendly. Was this another game? You weren't dropping your guard just yet.

"Must be quite boring after a while, considering it looks the same from your office as well."

To your surprise he sat down on a chair beside you and looked out of the window, "I prefer to see it as a painting. Each day you notice a new detail."

"Didn't know you were poetic, Mister Wayne." You crossed your arms. He narrowed his eyes but didn't reply. Perhaps you were too suspicious of him... but mom always told you never to trust boys. Not that he was a boy... He was a fully functional man. No, you mustn't think of such, he is simply a business partner.

"Enjoying the party?" He turned his gaze away from the window and to you. His eyes were dark and mysterious in the stare.

"I am not quite sure, I did have work otherwise planned to do but instead for some reason I find myself here. Quite surprising isn't it?" Your sarcastic comment however seemed only to... Get him hurt? You couldn't be sure as his pokerface was applied within seconds. Sighing internally, you decided that after all you were too suspicious of him. "It's nice, but perhaps not my most experienced field of social gatherings." You admitted.

He raised an eyebrow, "I figured you had done a million of these types of gatherings while you were gone?"

"Keeping track of me now are we?" How the hell did he know you hadn't lived in Gotham?

"Not necessarily, but your company is one of the largest under mine in Gotham and otherwise around the continents. Your father came to these gatherings too, and we did speak after all."

"Fair enough. And no, I wasn't exactly in the area of Mister Important parties."

"Mister Important?" He grinned, amused.

"Never mind" You muttered, yet a faint smirk played unwillingly on your lips.

However, your conversation was interrupted by a well dressed couple whom he kindly greeted and shook hands with. They began talking about investments and upcoming affairs. Feeling somewhat only in the way, you decided it was time to go find Josette.

Unfortunately, it turned out she was very busy with some younger bachelor in the corner of the balcony, and you quickly assumed yourself disqualified as company for the evening. Instead you decided to find a new underpopulated corner, but this time it led you somewhat further away. Reaching what seemed like a library you felt like you could feel relaxed once more; letting your hand touch the surface of several books it stopped on one you found peculiar; the cover was entirely black in leather. Just as you were to pick it out, someone interrupted you.

"I believe Master Wayne is searching for you, Miss Y/S." The elder man looked at you with kind eyes, "He said something about 'Chasing you all around the place.'"

You smiled at him, "Perhaps if the man is eager enough to meet me, he will do so when he isn't busy being important and desired." You let go of the book and nodded as a thanks to the elder man, then headed back to the elevator as you decided the partying was finished for now.
