I don't have time!

"Y/S!" Someone shouted behind you. You twirled around to see one of your employed managers holding a couple of papers up. However, just as you were about to ask what was the case, a second manager rushed up with new papers.

"Y/S, this is most important." The first manager said.

"Y/S with all due respect, my project is prioritized." The second one snapped.

You sighed and took out your calendar, "You both schedule a meeting, even if it's only ten minutes long. I have time in three hours. Now excuse me." Leaving them nodding you turned back to your office and closed the heavy wood doors behind you. An additional sigh escaped as you gazed out from the tall windows. The view was quite something.

Suddenly your assistant burst through the doors and with rapid words she started talking while fumbling with papers. Unable to actually hear what she said you raise your hands,

"Josette, calm down. I can't hear what you're saying."

"R-right sorry. Anyway. You just got invited to a reeeeally important party." She held up the hand written paper. "It's one of Bruce Wayne's parties."

Frowning you leaned against your desk, "I honestly do not have time for parties, Josette. You've seen the calendar."

Bewildred, Josette took several quick steps towards you and pressed the paper against your chest. "No. Nope. Y/N, you ARE going. " She gasped. "He even wrote it by hand!"

You accepted the paper but simply placed it down on the desk along with all other papers. "I'll think it over." You stated, well aware that you weren't going to waste your precious time on a party. Josette seemed to accept the answer though and calmed down a bit,

"Alright. Good. Right. I'll be on my way then." She smiled and turned around to walk out.

After she left you turned your attention to your work, spending the entire afternoon with it. Just as you were about to close down one email dropped in. Instinctively you pressed it open to read and get it over with.

It was a mail from Bruce Wayne.

"Greetings,

Congratulations to your success within the business, and I along with my company welcome you to the board. I hope you'll be even more successful than previous with your business.

As you might know, our two companies have indeed had some working done together beforehand, and I deem it fit to see if we can continue these affairs.

I have scheduled a meeting tomorrow morning at 0930. I'll expect to see you at Wayne Enterprises.

Best Regards,
Wayne."

First you became frustrated. He couldn't just plan a meeting like that, you had other meetings in place! But considering the positive effects of being a business partners another sigh came across as you rescheduled the other two meetings connecting to that hour.

THE NEXT DAY, 0915

"Welcome to Wayne Enterprises, Miss Y/S. May I take your coat?" A woman in a tight black office dress smiled at you behind the reception. You returned a smile and handed over the coat before proceeding over to the couch in the waiting area. The tower was modern and well cleaned. A lot of business folk walked casually around, discussing deals and partnerships. At exactly 0930 a tall, quite handsome man stepped out from the elevator in a dark grey suit. Soon his eyes found yours as you stood up. He approached with a professional, confident smile. You shook hands and he welcomed you to the Tower. As you stepped into the elevator together you couldn't help but to lay notice of his alluring fragrance. It made you nervous. At all costs you found yourself avoiding his gaze. Had to remain professional, you were the owner of a major company now, couldn't fall back to old teenager habits.
He led you to his office. It was large and extravagant. A large wooden desk in the middle and windows showing almost the entire of Gotham.

"Anything to drink, Miss Y/S?" His voice woke you up and you kindly declined while he helped himself to it. You sat down on the chair in front of his desk and proceeded to taking up both laptop and several paper files. After realising he was still leaning against the drawers with his drink you stopped and looked over; his eyes rested on you yet he seemed quite amused.

"Are we not going through our partnership?" You frowned, the 'question' coming out sharper than expected.

"Why? Are you by any means unhappy with the way it runs now?" He grinned at your change of mood and walked over to his desk. He leaned against it just in front of you, having you forced to tilt your head upwards to look at him. Suddenly you felt very small, and he very dominant.

"Err... I suppose not..." You managed to say after a couple of exhales.

"Good. I am very glad with the way it is proceeding myself you see." His voice was suddenly not so much teasing but rather soft for a second. What was he playing at?

You closed your laptop and gathered the files again in order to stand up and properly meet his gaze, "Then why am I here, Mister Wayne?" If he wanted to waste your time, he had succeed.

"To run over the partnership, of course." He was still playing that foolish game of his. Was that all business was to him? "By the way, I hope you got my invitation?"

So that's what this was all about. He wanted to recruit you to his silly party gathering of Mister and Miss important. This frustrated you even more.

"Yes, I did." You stated shortly and turned around to walk away from him.

"Well, will I see you there?" You could feel his grin in the back of your neck.

"I honestly do have more important things to do than lavish my time, Mister Wayne. Surly you understand." You turned around before you hit the door to give him a polite smile, yet you were feeling anything but content about this meeting.

All of a sudden he looked quite serious as he replied, "It would be anything but a lavish, Miss Y/S. Plus, it'd be a shame if someone else at that party would approach with a partnership of your expertise."

Shocked, you glared at him, was he seriously going to blackmail you into going to that damned party?

"I wasn't aware that was the case." You snarled, "Perhaps it won't be a lavish after all." And with those words you curtsied and turned around to leave his office.

If it wasn't for the fact that his company was crucial for yours, you'd never play along his games.

What an idiot.
