I am now sure

It had gone two, soon three, months now since that dinner date. Sometimes you'd lie awake and question if this was all a dream, but then you'd turn to your side and find him sleeping there. Instantly you'd feel soothed and could go back to sleep. After that date you had started talking each day, which soon lead to meeting up and spending hours together. Eventually you both realised you had to work too, and couldn't neglect it, but neither of you wanted to be without each other, so it ended up with you taking turns in which office you'd sit and work; even though it was hours of meetings, phone calls or silent work you were at least beside each other and got coffee together. Only a week ago you had been working over for several hours in his manor which lead to you falling asleep, and spending the night there. This was the start to you practically spending every other day sleeping at his, and sometimes he came home to yours. After all, your apartment was closer to work for both of you. Right now you were both sitting with a laptop in front of a fire in his mansion, working.

"And to you, Mister Anderson." Bruce bid goodbye and hung up their call, before returning to his laptop. You looked up at him a smiled, yet it was hinting on a smirk.

"What was it this time? Soap?"

"I wish." Bruce rolled his eyes. "At least soap has a functional use." You laughed and he smiled. Anderson had over several phone calls attempted to sell things to Wayne enterprises, but nothing of interest. Bruce had explained it was a good line of business Anderson had but it wasn't for Wayne Enterprises. He didn't really listen. Another hour went on until it became dark outside. You closed your laptop and put it down, then walked over to Bruce before snatching his laptop and seating yourself in his lap. When he wanted his laptop back you simply pouted your lips, but in return he wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you in for a long and deep kiss. You put the laptop down beside you on the table and properly kissed him; your lips tender and intentions the same. If you had thought moving to Gotham would be the best decision in your life two months ago, and that this would happen you'd simply laugh at such silly fantasies. When you broke the kiss you locked your eyes in each other, exchanging a silent conversation; his expression said more than a thousand words. The frozen moment was awoken by Alfred who entered the room with a tray,
"Evening tea? Miss Y/S? Master Bruce?"

You smiled and stood up to return to your seat, "That would be wonderful, thank you Alfred."

"Oh and Master Bruce, this invitation came by by mail." Alfred took a single envelope and handed it over to Bruce who thanked him. Opening the letter he read it carefully, triggering your curiosity. Yet, despite it you didn't want to step on his privacy.

"I'll be gone for two days it seems. Have to fly to an old friend." Bruce looked a little down, "His health is decaying."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that." You gave him a look of empathy. "Of course you should go."

Bruce booked his tickets for early in the morning. Worried about him you tried taking his mind off things by covering under blankets and watching a series. It was sort of evident though that he hadn't much experience in this area. Probably he was used to working first thing in the morning under night, you thought. However it was still nice lying there with him until you were both tired enough to drop in the bed.
The next morning felt cold and lonely, which it was. You were lying alone, staring at the roof. What finally got you out of bed was Alfred who knocked on your door, asking if you wanted breakfast. Getting dressed you met him outside the dorm and walked together down the hall.

"You know, he can be very restricting about opening up, Miss Y/S" He smiled faintly, "But I assure you, Ive never seen him this dedicated to someone."

You smiled back, his words warming, "I have no reason to distrust him."

Alfred looked away for a second to open a door, but you saw a hint of a frown, "At times, things can be strange and unexplainable. But you do not have to doubt his feelings for you."

"Strange and unexplainable?" What would he mean by that?

"Indeed Miss Y/S." He replied. You figured you weren't getting any answers from Alfred. During the day you only took a break from work by taking a long walk, and during that time you made a phone call to Bruce, talking for at least forty minutes. When the evening came you finally decided it was maybe better to drive back to your apartment, it felt somewhat strange being in the mansion alone. You and Bruce were very close, but you weren't going to pretend to be a home wife.
Yet, being home alone in your apartment felt displaced, like a part of a different life.
