When's The Wedding

"I want you here"

"Then your wish is my command"

***

Luka could not hold back his smile as he reread the text what felt like a million times. He turned off his phone and dropped it against his chest, blushing like a maniac. It was times like these he wished he had more guy friends to talk about this kind of this with. He's never really sat down and had dinner with the parents of any of his partners- hell, he's never had a partner. Were they dating? Were they exclusive? Yeah they kissed but (Y/N) just lost their parents, would they even want to jump into a relationship so soon?

"Get yourself together, Couffaine! (Y/N) wants you there, you can talk to them about this later," he said, pulling his jacket over his shoulders. He swiped his wallet and keys off his desk and stuffed them haphazardly into his pocket while sliding his phone in the other.

Juleka walked into Luka's room, raising an eyebrow at the sight of him all but rushing out of the door. "Heading out awfully soon, huh? Is it (Y/N)"

Luka jumped at the sound of his sister's voice, forgetting how quiet she saw as she walked. He turned, clearing his throat "Yeah,"

"Luka, they're gonna get sick of you," Juleka said jokingly with a smirk on her face, forgetting how sensitive Luka is to that sort of thing.

Luka flinched, trying to push out those thoughts and smile for his sister "It's possible," he admitted truthfully "But it's not like I invited myself."

Juleka smiled, "I'm happy you guys are having fun. Don't forget about the rest of us, though,"

"Never," he said, looking at the pictures from their concerts hanging around the room.

After making sure Juleka had dinner, Luka practically skipped down the street to where (Y/N) was waiting next to the car their uncle had sent her with. Greeting (Y/N) with a kiss on the cheek, they slid into the back seat and the driver put up the divider.

Luka wasn't expecting the tense silence radiating from (Y/N) as they twiddled with their thumbs avoiding looking at Luka. He sighed softly and looked out the window, watching the lights blur by. (Y/N) was probably just nervous, that had to be it. (Y/N) wasn't regretting anything, they could just be tired. What if something happened? What if they got in a fight with Owen? What if-

"Luka?" (Y/N)'s small concerned voice was all it took for him to snap out of it. (Y/N) inched their hand closer to his, eventually holding his gently "Are you okay?"

Luka nodded, giving (Y/N)'s hand a reassuring squeeze "Yeah, I'm okay. Are you? You've been quiet too you know," he said, trying to add a teasing tone to his voice.

(Y/N)'s face flushed "I just don't want you to get sick of me too fast, I only have so many one-liners," they said, leaning their head on Luka's shoulder.

"I said the same thing," Luka murmured quiet enough (Y/N) couldn't hear, kissing (Y/N)'s forehead hoping they don't overthink it as much as he does. "(Y/N), I could never get tired of you. I love it when you lean on me like this and let me spend time with you."

"I know, it's a little over the top," (Y/N) said bashfully as they both stepped out of the car "Especially for four people,"

Luka was still reeling from how genuinely massive this place was. Houses like this were expensive even in the countryside, but with Paris prices? Luka couldn't even do the math. He grabbed (Y/N)'s hand "In case I get lost," he teased.

As soon as the door opened they were both hit with the scent of something amazing cooking. (Y/N) squeezed Luka's hand and guided him to the kitchen "Owen, I have the hostage,"

"I'd hardly call a boy with one hell of a lover who's about to eat to their heart's content a hostage," a voice called back, slightly deeper than Owen's with a slight Italian accent.

"Oh, I didn't know you were here already, Milo" (Y/N) said they came into the kitchen with a confused Luka in tow.

Milo smiled, his dark fluffy hair moving as he laughed "Owen texted me that it was a teenage emergency and all but threatened me to get here early. Apparently, he's not ready to see his kid dating." he said before lowering his voice to a whisper "If you ask me, I just think he doesn't want to embarrass you," he said before extending his hand to Luka "I'm Milo, Owen's boyfriend," (Y/N) caught the hesitation when Milo said boyfriend, immediately hoping they weren't fighting.

"I'm Luka, it's nice to meet you," Luka said, turning the charisma to a hundred percent. His smile could blind someone it was so bright.

Owen stumbled in, giggling with a glass of wine in his hand "Okay, I'm a little tipsy."

Milo sighed, kissing his boyfriend and pulling the wine out of his hand "Good thing dinner isn't ready yet. You have plenty of time to sober up, now go!"

The (H/C)ed man laughed, winking at his boyfriend before deciding to go for a quick run around the house to get the booze out of his system.

"That man," Milo said chuckling before turning back to the teens "You guys can go relax in the living room, I'll call you when dinner is ready,"

Luka nodded and murmured a thank you as (Y/N) dragged him away and kissed him as soon as they were around the corner. Luka, taken aback, took a moment before pulling his hand up to hold their face and kiss them back. They both stood there for a moment before (Y/N) pulled back.

"Hi," (Y/N) said with a shy smile

Luka blinked a few times, processing what happened before smiling "Hello there, you ready to go watch TV now?"

(Y/N) nodded, giggling as they snuggled up on the couch "sorry if that was sudden,"

Luka looked at (Y/N) with a grin before kissing their forehead "Sometimes sudden is a good thing, my dear"

Dinner was relatively uneventful. It was a lot of Owen and MIlo joking around while (Y/N) filled in a lot of the blanks for Luka. Dinner was delicious, Owen made (Y/N)'s favorite and Milo made strawberry cheesecake for dessert. Luka couldn't get over how wholesome this was. (Y/N) practically had another set of parents who wanted nothing but the best for them, it was nice knowing they weren't lonely in the massive mansion with nothing but their own thoughts.

Owen cleared his throat, "(Y/N), Luka, we have some news."  he said with a giddy and slightly drunk-fueled grin.

Milo smiled too, looking at Owen with adoring eyes

"We're getting married," Owen shouted, spreading his arms wide theatrically.

"No way!" (Y/N) screamed, almost jumping up to hug Owen and MIlo.

Milo smiled, signaling Luka to join the moment. Luka smiled, hugging them both as well with a stupid smile on his face, he knew (Y/N) was cute when they were excited but this was another level of wholesome.

"So when's the wedding," (Y/N) asked when they finally settled back down.

"Well, we haven't set a date yet but we're aiming for a classic autumn or winter wedding," Milo said with a giddy smile

"Luka, you're obviously invited. I cannot get over how cute you guys are!" Owen said, wrapping an arm around both of the teens' shoulders, getting a laugh out of both of them. Owen smiled "However, I know you will get tired of us gay uncles so feel free to go hang out in (Y/N)'s room until you need to leave, Luka."

(Y/N) eventually took that chance and took him to their borderline apartment, "I have all kinds of stuff to do but it's your call," (Y/N) said, wandering around their room leaving Luka next to the attic access point, completely unaware of the tears dripping down his face until they turned around.

"Luka? What's wrong?"
