Prison

Adrien was never one for serious relationships, it wasn't like he had the best role models growing up. Now he was sitting in (Y/N)'s room, holding his distraught boyfriend as Luka tried to convince himself he was okay. (Y/N) had too much faith in the boy, that he'd tell them if he was beyond the point of repair- he'd tell them if he was at the point in which he couldn't fight off an akuma should the need arise. Adrien, well-aquainted with misery, could take one look at Luka's eyes and see how little fight he had left in him. Luka was lying right to their faces, and (Y/N) fell hook, line, and sinker.

Adrien tried to bite back his observations- write it off as paranoia- but every time Luka swore he was fine the less Adrien was inclined to provide the charity of granthing the benefit of the doubt. (Y/N) was getting less convinced too, looking helplessly at Adrien for what to do.

It was that look- that pleading look from (Y/N) to make it go away- that made Adrien want to cry too. Adrien hugged Luka tighter and pulled (Y/N) into the other side of his chest "it's okay, we'll be okay."

Luka nodded, his sobs slowly giving way to soft sniffles and hiccups "I'm sorry about-"

"If you apologize for crying I will punch you in the dick." Adrien said with love, kissing Luka's forehead "you deserve to have a safe space to let you feelings out- I don't know how many times we have to tell you that."

Luka sighed, wordlessly burying his face in Adrien's chest while (Y/N) reached over to play with Luka's hair.

"Sweetheart," (Y/N) breathed, "I know you said you don't want to but maybe therapy would-"

"No," Luka visibly tensed, his tone sharp as he refused to look at his partner. Adrien's gaze shot to (Y/N), worried about them. They'd been taking care of Luka during these moments much longer than he has, but even he could see how hard it was to see a person you love in so much pain. "No therapy."

"But-"

"No." His voice sharper, raised in volume. (Y/N) hid their flinches well, but Adrien felt this one. Adrien couldn't help but be a little upset with Luka- being upset wasn't an excuse to lash out at his partners.

(Y/N) just nodded, wordlessly slipping out of bed and leaving. Luka could hear the attic latch close as they climbed down the ladder, but all he did was flip onto his back and stare at the ceiling.

Adrien rolled his eyes "what has gotten into you? While we both appreciate what you did with Alya- you're being really shitty to (Y/N) right now. This isn't you at all-"

"What if it is?" Luka retorted, dismissive as he curled back into his shell "what if- what if this is all I am when you take away all of the flashy, superficial bullshit. What if I'm just angry at the world and don't want anything to do with love anymore."

Adrien took a deep breath, he knew Luka didn't mean what he said. He knew Luka would never say that. He tensed, looking at Luka's hair as the moon hit it. Something didn't feel right at all. It couldn't be Volpina- Rena Rouge had the fox miraculous now. Another illusionist? Adrien visibly tensed. If this wasn't Luka, then who the hell was in (Y/N)'s bed and where the hell was his boyfriend.

Luka didn't know where he was when he woke up, but he knew he wasn't in (Y/N)'s bed where he fell asleep. It was dark, he could feel something around his wrists as he slowly came to. He felt his heart spike- what the hell was over his eyes?

"Oh, so you're awake now" A voice rang out- an older guy, surely- as Luka struggled to wiggle the blindfold free "Don't bother trying, you're not getting out unless I want you to."

"Rather imposing on your guests, don't you think?" Luka chuckled, this guy may have him tied up but he could feel his miraculous snug around his wrist. "Rather rude of you to drag me out of my partner's window."

"While you were with that model- Adrien Agreste, I believe- no less. You certainly get around Mr.Couffaine." the voice said again, sounding much more to his right this time. He could hear his shoes tap against the floor as he walked- something else ahead of his steps, maybe a cane. "Could be an asset, should you hear me out."

"Depends on what you want." Luka shrugged, feigning disinterest as he placed the voice. His blood ran cold when it finally clicked- it was Gabriel Agreste- it was Hawkmoth. "I can't imagine what such a grand such as hawkmoth would want with some random teenager. Please, enlighten me."

Luka heard his breathing freeze- hawkmoth didn't want Luka to know who he was. Hawkmoth cleared his throat "unfortunately, a valuable source of information decided to flee the nest. And I need a new source. You just so happen to be close with everyone I need eyes on- more specifically, that little partner of yours."

"What do they have to do with anything?" Luka asked, defensive of his partner- his (Y/N) "it's not like they've done anything."

"Oh please," Hawkmoth scoffed "let's not insult eachother's intelligence, Luka, do you really think their showing up to Paris was an unfortunate stroke of fate?" Hawkmoth's breath violated Luka's skin as he leaned closer. "Do you really think their parents death was an accident?"

'Do you really think their parents death was an accident?' The words- the confirmation- rung in Luka's head, and it was all it took for Luka to violently slam his wrists apart, whatever restraints Gabriel had poorly prepared swiftly rendered useless as Luka grabbed him by the collar, the blindfold quickly torn off with his other hand. Luka laughed at the genuine surprise on the man's fave "You son of a bitch- you think you can be so ill-equipped, reveal you are the source behind the the love of my life's anguish, and I'll even consider joining you?" Luka's grip tightened the minute his hand moved to the man's throat "You truly are an idiot, Gabriel Agreste."

The man struggled, gasping for hair as he clawed at Luka's hands. Luka kept his grip, his bracelet blinking for a moment as he grinned. Hunting him felt good.

Hawkmoth's face was swiftly turning red, looking almost as if he was going to explode.

A moment later, something did explode. The grand window in which hawkmoth freed his akuma's shattered as two figures jumped inside.

"Luka! Let him go!" Chat Noir- Adrien- shouted as he ran to them, pulling Hawkmoth off of Luka.

Raven rushed to Luka, their hands running up and down his arms as they checked for any broken bones "Luka- what- what happened?" They looked down at Hawkmoth, who was currently coughing up a fit as he cradeled his throat while Chat Noir kept him from the glass.

"I'll tell you what happened- daddy dearest tried to fucking recruit me because apparently his informant wasn't doing their job anymore." Luka growled, his ears perking up at the sound of police sirens "decided kidnapping me was his best bet- he confessed- he's the one who killed your parents."

Raven begun to sway, as if the shock from the pure truth hit them- and they were grateful they called the police to arrest Gabriel. Chat Noir looked helplessly between his father and Raven. "Dad," Chat Noir whimpered.

Gabriel's disguise came off as he stared wide-eyed as his realization. His own son was the boy he spent his days tirelessly fighting "Adrien, I-"

Adrien held his hand up "Did you ever love me?"

"Of course I did," Gabriel whispered? "You're my son-"

"No," Adrien's featured hardened as his own disguise fell "I was your puppet. Some dog to follow you around that happened to look like your wife. What would you have done if I didn't look like her, father? Thrown me into foster care the moment she died?"

Gabriel stood there, frozen, unsure of what to say.

"You never loved me- if you did you never would have forced me to sit in this- this-" Adrien looked around, remembering every night he spent cold, alone, and crying because he father didn't love him "prison. You would have been there when I had even the stupidest school things- you would bother to show up to my concerts- you'd accept that I was gay.  You wouldn't have just brushed off when I told you like it never happened."

Luka felt his heart break. Adrien had come out to his dad? (Y/N) wanted to run to Adrien and hug him, but he needed this minute with his father.

"But I have people that love me now- no thanks to you. I want you to know that from this day on, every good thing I will ever do- ever have done- had nothing to do with you and everything to do with the fact that I lived my life in spite of you." Adrien stepped away, Gabriel reaching out as the police stormed in through the window "Enjoy prison, Gabriel." Adrien walked away, up the elevator as Gabriel got picked up and cuffed.

Luka and Raven stood there as the police swarmed them, asking for statements and paramedics swiftly taking Luka away. Raven was there, unsure of what to say. Unsure of how to process and deal with the ending of Hawkmoth's reign of terror at the same time.

"Raven-" a gruff voice sounded, snapping them out of it "I'm afraid we need your statement- and our congratulations for single-handedly reprimanding Hawkmoth in the name of saving that boy. Would you mind coming with us to the station?"

Raven just nodded, letting themselves be guided away.

They didn't do anything. Luka did it all, all they did was show up. There was no fight. Hawkmoth was gone without so much as a punch thrown between them. Not a world exchanged- just like that- the fight was over.
